The reliability, repeatability, speed, and integration with existing industrial controllers (not to mention cost!) is orders of magnitude higher

That's just off the top of my head.
My favorite part is when it says the name of the product obviously incorrectly. Clicking Like or Dislike does NOT generate income. Only clicking ads on the page pays him, so feel free to register yer opinion..

Why not use brushless motors with encoders? Stepper motor technology is old and heavy and from what i can see there is no position feedback. How is this going to be industrial without position feedback ? I like the desing but i preffer servo motors over steppers, as i build alot of robots with stepper motors i know what i am talking about. Currently i am working on a real servo controlled 6-axis robot and i see the benefits over steppers everywhere. Anyway good luck with your project looking forward to the finished product.

If you have a 3d printer you can just print one out, add a bunch of motors and a mainboard, and flash a 6-axis firmware.

I think it is very hard to find servos that are so small that fit onto the robot
