I think it was her dad that was the aggressor and her mom did nothing to protect her. She has a really crazy story of being abused. They would basically lock her in her room and let her out to eat, clean the house and go to school. She grew up in the Philippines and later moved with her family to Texas where the same abuse continued. She later joined the Navy and did like 4 years during which she was stationed in Hawaii. She got her early fame doing little videos where she would lipsinc songs. Now she is a social media star and has this music career starting now.
Thank you for that insight Zippits. Someone else mentioned Navy but didn't clarify. It was truly heartbreaking reading the description after the video.
You're right, she's being controlled. As you can see that the dress that choked her was also the dress she wore and nudity symbolizes liberation but she's still covered with yellow paint, the color she was forced to like. PS: It's horror-themed because a true horror is when you're being abused and controlled.
Might I suggest The Idol by WASP? Way underrated song from one of the greatest metal bands of our time. I'd also like to throw in the hat a little known artist that could quite possibly be the next best thing to come out of Texas. The song is Goodbye Luke by Luke LaPrade. It's real. It's raw emotion. I can almost guarantee that you will feel the words and music.
Steph & Burch: I just recently stumbled upon your channel. Your format is nice. As your catalog to music reactions increases, I'd be curious to know your overall opinion to today's music compared to previous decades, particularly the Big-Hair Metal & Rock bands of 80's ... fading out in the 90's. I'd like to say I enjoy a wide variety of music genre, but "today's stuff just doesn't do it for me. Any day, give me ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Madonna, Lita Ford, Joan Jett, DefLeppard, Journey, Foreigner, Winger, Warrant, Skid Row, Slaughter .......... even Loverboy, Supertramp, J. Geils, Yes, Flock of Seagulls, Queensryche, and I could go on for a lengthy paragraph. These bands are truly legends. I'm Gen-X. Grew up on Rock. I hate today's stuff. What's your take? Particularly, because ... Steph... you appear younger... perhaps 25-28 yrs old (?) ... Burch .... you're in your 50's (?). Would be particularly interesting to see the comparison between your two generations' music taste. Why do I hate today's "music"? Terrible lyrics, lack of poetry, drum beats & instrumentals are computer generated. The Human Aspect is just gone. It's artificial now-a-days. A keen ear can pick out whether it's too perfect or not. 70's-80's-90's music actually had minor imperfections which made tunes unique. Today's stuff? Barf / Vomit. So... your opinions?
You guys should do some tom mcdonald hes a rapper but he speaks about the current state of the world so please be prepared if you listen to him hes been as controversial

I will add it to the list, thank you Humberto.
THE MAKING OF THE VIDEO IS ALSO ON HER CHANNEL
First time listen for me. It is definitely generic pop. But it’s still better than i thought it would be.
