Very interesting about the headlights. Good standard ones is a must when I go car shopping. Not interested in fitting extra ones. Volvo have traditionally been good with headlights
This is very subjective, but in my opinion the lights were just average. Maybe good enough in this segment of cars, but I wish they were stronger. Especially the high beam. But I'm pretty picky on this topic.
Thanks. Was waiting for this. Efficiency as feared seems quite poor for this car. Your figures converted to 2.63mi/kWh which I understand better as from the UK. Yes,it was cold (4degC), rainy and the 20” wheels do not help but that gives a MAXIMUM range of only 170 miles 😮. That is identical to when I test drive this exact model here in the UK but with 19” wheels (6 degC and raining). So on a long motorway drive it has lost well over 100 miles of its WLTP range. This is certainly not a Tesla Model 3 in terms of efficiency.
Yeah, it doesn't appear as the EX30 are efficient on highway driving. However I will try again next weekend. I'm borrowing another EX30, that's running on 19" alloys.
I had even worse efficiency here in the UK in similar conditions and average spped of 40mph. Was awful. As well as that, the parking assistant couldn't identify empty spaces but instead tried to reverse into a parked car, cabin noise was awful, and tablet didn't work properly (couldn't even play the radio). Having waited 9mo since ordering, order immediately cancelled. So so disappointing
They are definitely a step or two under compared to the XC40. However. The biggest difference and reason for my complaint towards the EX30 are the high beam. Both in spread, power and brightness.
I was watching your video looking at one pedal range comparison and now it is gone, am I doing something wrong? On your XC 40 would be interested in wiper power draw and if the consumption screen in the car is accurate/useful.
If you bailed out at Ljungskile with 37%, you could still have easily made it to Spekerød despite the collapsed parts of the E6 around Stenungsund and arrive at the Ionity there with around 10% or so remaining. That would be more representative of how far the car can go. As Bjørn Nyland would say - go deep. That way, you can maintain peak charging speed for longer. Any plans to do 1000km challenges like Bjørn does, all the way down the E6 to Helsingborg and turning around?
Hi Kristian, I did a test drive too with the ex30. There are two unit ranges shown in the display, one is certified and the other is dynamic. Which one the ranges are more realistic when driven from 100% and what is the practical range it gives for 100% battery and until 5%? Thanks in advance
The dynamic will always be more accurate. The range will depend on a bunch of different factors. Speed, elevation, exterior temperature, climate usage, alloys and most of all your right foot 👍
Interesting video, but would like to know how wet conditions affect consumption. If comparisons are to be made against an ICE, it's not very convincing that an EV is actually the way to go for long distances. Certainly for urban distances I can see the advantages.
Dette er lys fra VisionX. Flere og flere Volvo forhandlere har begynt å selge samt montere disse. Så de kan bestille disse også. Eksempelvis Volvo Car Fornebu, Bilia Hønefoss, Bilia Follo, Frydenbø i Bergen. Usikker hvor du holder til. Men din lokale Volvo forhandler skal kunne hjelpe deg her 👍
The 265 aren't a estimate. Isn't that the WLTP figures you're referring to? Will never get close to that in these conditions. Cold, wet, high speed and with 20" alloys
Hi Kristian, Let's assume I have 19" wheels and will be driving at highway speed over a mountain range at 65-70 MPH. Will it get anywhere near 265? Do you think it will get 200 in the given conditions? Thanks. @@volvo_kristian
Watching this excellent video in my ex30 on the console
Nice 😂
Nice 😎 Wish the EX30 screen was flipped horizontally for a better experience when watching videos.😊
@@volvo_kristian oh ! How to flip that horizontally?
@@karthikeyansubramaniyan5466 It's not possible. I just wish it was flipped horizontally instead of the vertical layout

@@volvo_kristiani feel the same about EX30. X/XC40 is simply a better pick - not so much bigger, but more comfortable and better equipped.

You mentioned the headlights is decent and the extra lights would be nice. But how good is the low beam compared to xc40?

Have to make a new OPD test with the next EX30 presscar.

I'm trying to decide between standard or extended range. Coming from a e-Golf, standard seems enough
Yeah. Maybe standard are enough. Would say it depends on how long your daily trips are? And your access to a charging point.
Hi, Is the version Range Extend and one motor?
Single motor extended range yes
@@ΘάνατοςΧορτοφάγος I think the autonomy is very far from what the technical sheet indicates.
It's the Single Motor Extended Range, with a RWD motor on 272hp 👍
@@volvo_kristian I am waiting for my Volvo Ex30 in mid-May México but I am worried about the poor range.
@@JaimeFerreyraCalderonYour range will be much better, then mine up here in the cold north 👍
How much difference in consumption do you think the winter tyres made? I won't need those in Southern England.
Haven't seen any numbers on how much winter tires will impact range, but there's definitely more rolling resistance in these.
Won’t need winter tyres in the Midlands either. 2023 1 day were they might have been useful then again I could have waited for the rain to come

Kan du legge en link til hvor man får kjøpt de ekstra frontlysene? :-)

Disappointing range. I am reconsidering my purchase.
Range is not even close to the 285 miles estimated by Volvo.
