Was just going to say there is no way this use of the recording could be found to be illegal. Maybe if you used the sample to create an ed Sheeran or Pharrell banger that somehow sounds somewhat like a Marvin Gaye song… but even so, you have flute sample. No one is coming for you. Love the creativity.
this video and I meet at a perfect time! been playing with my OKGO Volca Sample today which is basically a hardware license to a sample pack cut from one of their albums; lots of single note/chord/hit type clips included, a relatively small amount of just-drums in the bank
Wondering as well... but thinking practically, the artist needs a reason to spend resources to sue you (you have to be making money off the song/video) and more importantly, they need a way to prove it's their music. So a single note from a flute from 1975, put through effects, probably won't be identifiable unless you make a youtube video about it :).
@@klankenkabaal @frenchlouiemusic-ew5dq Exactly! How can a musician know if they have played an only note that you are editing dramatically in your DAW? It’s kinda impossible. And more importantly: a note is not a creative issue, I mean, it is not an important part of the composition (rather than a chord progression or a melody, i. e.) 🤷🏻♂️
"Your Honor, He stole my clients note"
😂
not illegal whatsoever
Yea if the sample is cleared
Sampling is not a crime
who care

Nice to hear! Have fun exploring the Volca
if this is illegal I'm a criminal
Great video, but really using only a note is illegal? I thought this might be with some more 😮

Right! That’s what I’m thinking as well

Technically, you can get away if no one claims it, but yeah taking anything is illegal :(
@@HashJus2 Well, if you don't have permission. You can still use royalty-free sample - that's legal.
illegal. lol
i hate what’s happened to music lately
