The track I sample is Hold It Down (1995) from Das EFX and this track -produced by Easy Mo Bee- features some gritty and noisy drum hits that are open and easy to grab. BTW very interesting way to sample a keyboard sound. I've got a whol bank with the 36 keys sampled, but that is a very interesting way of saving space and a bit less time consuming

    • @klankenkabaal
      @klankenkabaal Годину тому

      I guess it depends a bit on the sound you want to sample if you can get away with less samples, sometimes you need all the 36 keys to make it sound realistic but often you don’t

    I've had one since they came out. Highly underrated sampler. Like a 24 bit Casio sk-1! Or more accurately like an ensoniq or Roland 90s sampler in a unit a 3rd of the size/weight. Resampling allows you to make some very unique sound design.

    there is no 90s sound when you are recording digitally as opposed to tape. that's why people got 20 years out of recycling 808s, because they sounded different on tape.

    Just terrible review with no sound demo. What a waste of time. Too many of these wanna be UA-cam music talking heads. Firstly, they are not very good at programming synth or hardware, they follow a manual and poke around a few buttons or dials amd call it an in depth review 😅 I’m seeing lots of those channels disappearing now because people are catching up to this mediocre irrelevant content.

    I borrowed a 303 for about a year, and then owned a 505 (til. Ow - but it needs work). Enjoyed both machines, recorded many many tracks - just on their own - and performed live with the 505 almost exclusively for about 10 years. Fantastic machines in my opinion. So many people didn’t take them seriously, but I programmed dozens of original sounds which I’ve sampled, and still used to this day.

    4:31 - Eyyyyyy you found an old video that I once created. (had to remove them eventually due to copyright issues and demonetization). 😃 The floppies were not specifically for the Amiga, you had them in 2 flavors: HD or DD, on the pc both were used and on the Amiga mostly the DD floppies were used, but gave a total space of 880 kilobyte. You can find online mountains of samples you can use in Protracker. Also you can add certain accelerators for the Amiga 500 and make it bootable and use a simple SD card as a harddisk. The RGB output of the Amiga only runs on 15hz, which most modern monitors cannot display. You can make it work by using a RGB->Scart (and buy a TV/Monitor with Scart input), or buy the RGB->Scart and a Scart->HDMI, then you can use it on a normal monitor.

    🔥⛽ one of the best videos on youtube explaining how to use old MPCs. sampling a note from a synthesizer changes everything, I find it gives a coherent groove and swing, instead of sampling a melody loop. What I've been doing lately is sampling a note from a vst instrument (piano, lead, bell,...) usually the note C, with the Auto-Chromatic Assignment feature in MPC 2500, Samples can now be automatically assigned chromatically to the drum pads. The 64 drum pads,(PAD A01 - D16) will correspond to a note range of 35 - 98 on a MIDI keyboard. Personally, I'll never compose in a daw again, just to record at the end, even if I do Trap.
