Loved this! thanks so much for letting us go on vacation with you two, haha! So great to watch these videos. You have really put a lot of time into this and it is awesome that we get to see more of God's creation! Love how you take time out to spend with each child!! Nice neighbors you had there too!
Hello America's Park's😊😊, guess what I'm watching right now...your video of you and daughter exploring the Dry Tortugas National Park and I can't wait to hit the road and get to Key West😊😊!
I am so glad I watched this video. I just finished a day trip to Dry Tortugas and it was stunning. I never expected so much from this park, especially given the lack of impressive scenery throughout Florida. However, this place was great. Seeing crabs, frigatebirds, egrets, parrotfish, turtles, barracudas, and sharks was a great experience. The fort is also fascinating and uniquely designed. However, my favorite parts were snorkeling around the docks and the seaplane ride to and from the park. Really cool place that I probably would not have made the effort to go to if not for you. Thank you!
Randy, I know how much you love this National Park, and it shows! What a wonderful video of your vacation with Natalie, I especially enjoyed when you went snorkeling together. Filming underwater is not easy, I know from the many times our daughter snorkeled with me. You did a great job and the editing is perfect. I also enjoy the many lighthouses you visit. When I was world traveling for 25+ years of my career, I always made a point to see them. Later I realized the attraction, the lighthouse is the navigational aide to the intrepid traveler! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING! . . . Mike
So cool, thanks so much! Yeah, as the video showed, we met that fantastic couple in Dry Tortugas. It was great to reconnect with them when I recently stumbled across their UA-cam channel some 4 years later! Take care!
I just saw this great video and cant wait to do the same thing with my family! Thank you for all the information and beauty of nature you showed. you should give guided tours.
Yeah, Heidi (above) also left a comment too! Great catch, Vida! This was in 2016 and they gave us a "lift" back to the main island. Not sure if they were even popular then. Really enjoyed getting to know them!
Thanks so much, really appreciate that (especially since this was one of the first videos I made!). :) Tortugas is such a special place! Merry Christmas!
Appreciate that, John! I shocked a few putting this place as my #1 (recent video), but it really holds special value for me. Hope you can get out there!
Thanks so much! It was one of my first vlogs. I absolutely love that place. When you guys start making plans, I'd be happy to help if you need any assistance.
What a great comment! YES, we ran into them when at Dry Tortugas (FL) in 2016. They gave us and our kayak a tow back to the main island. SUPER GREAT PEOPLE!
We're going to Dry Tortugas NP in 3 weeks. Last time we were there we won a free trip to DT NP in the raffle on the boat on the way back to Key West. We love Key West and go there at least twice a year for several weeks.
Thanks! Yes, the blessing on the overnight stay is that when all the day-travelers leave you basically have the whole island to yourself. Also try to get a kayak and take the trip to Loggerhead Key! Marty in Key West is the guy you want to go through for the rental.
You're welcome! You'll have a great time! Let me know if you have any questions. ...Also the "Death Valley Vlog" is located on this site - third one in on the "Recent Activities" playlist. Cheers!
We just found y'all via your collaboration video. We just subscribed, love supporting other UA-cam families. We just bought a boat and would love to go through the keys and go here. This is great info. Looking forward to catching up
Hey guys, thanks so much! The Florida Keys are incredible. As you can probably tell, we too are all about family travel and a love for the National Parks. Just took a brief look at your channel! Great trailer and choice of song! Subbed back!
Hello, Thanks for the great video. I have no audio at work and I'm heading to Dry Tortugas in a couple of months. I was wondering what month you went and from where did you charter; the seas look rough but that is typical for early spring in the park, right. Did you ferry over? Where was the best snorkeling / diving? Were you able to hit up the Shark Protection Zone?
Thanks for watching! Dry Tortugas is still one of my favorites. I've been there twice, both during spring break times (late March/early April). Yes, weather can be an issue then and I believe what we experienced on the ocean is typical. We drove to Key West and then went out on the Yankee Freedom. Great snorkeling by the "coal loading docks." Best is the west side of Loggerhead Key. - as seen in the video. Take care!
Thanks for the video! It was a pleasure to watch. When you were camping on Fort Jefferson were there any bathrooms with running water (sinks) or was it just outhouses (composting) ?
Yes, just the outhouses and the water you bring. What's nice is that the boat is there most of the day which provides flush toilets. showers, cold drinking water and food. After the ship departs, you're pretty much on your own. Incredible place. Thanks for watching!
Hello Charles, the ferry ride is an additional cost. It's not cheap - they also hit you for the park entrance fee and tag on a few more dollars if you plan to camp on the Island. Here are the ferry prices: www.drytortugas.com/rates-reservations

Thanks for the kind words and totally cool, Oscar! I absolutely love that place and hope you have a great time/build many lasting memories!
Was there about 15 years ago! Fabulous place...your video brought back lots of happy memories..thanks!
You're welcome! Of all the National Parks, probably one of my favorites!

Living in the Northeast, Key West and DTNP sound really great right about now! Have a super trip!
Great video - next time I'm in florida, I'll be sure to check out Dry Tortugas NP
Definitely worth it! It's about a 2.5 hour ferry ride from Key West.
Its awesome. Piece of advice, camp over night. The day trip on the ferry isn't long enough.
I'm doing Dry Tortugas as my national park report. Nice resource and video! :D
Thanks for the kind words! Glad to hear you found the video helpful!
We camped there in Oct 2015, going back 2018, Marty is a big help, plan ahead as only 3 kayak/canoes are allowed on each trip out
Thanks and enjoy your trip next year!
Man that looks like fun! Need to get down there
Such a special place! A little pricey on the boat ride, but the experience of a lifetime!
Great video - nice job with the editing! Would love to be there this time of the year!
Thanks, Glenn
Awesome video! I went in 2014, but only did the day tour. Next time will be over night. :)

is the ferry ride to and from the camp site included in the camp cost?
do they rent the kayaks there or do we bring our own?

very nice well done... how about a motor next time????
haha! Yes, that would have made things much easier! Thanks for watching! :)
Amazing! Did you bring your own kayak or rent one?
Hi Bonnie, thanks! We rented the kayak from an outfitter in Key West. The highlight of our trip was going to that island! Thanks for watching!

Nope - not all details of time/hotel/antibiotics are presented in the video.
It's really better than Yellowstone?
As far as beauty, diversity not really... but in terms of personal experience when there, yes!
@@AmericasParks That did look like a cool experience, meeting fellow UA-camrs and boating with them... on top of already being in a spectacular place.
