I’ve done the big chop twice and learned so much about myself. It’s giving grown woman sis. Enjoy the process and remember the feminine touches like earrings, lips, etc really help on the days you’re feeling like a bald head boy 😂
a feeling every woman should experience..at least once ! ive down it twice.. once my cosmetology classmate did it for me and the second was me sitting in front of my mirror . that vulnerable and naked and bare feeling is powerful. not to mention the journey of patience that awaits you when youre ready to re grow.

I agree wholeheartedly. I like to say the 2 bravest things I've ever done is give birth to my daughter and shave my head. It has since grown back out, but there was something about that cool, free feeling.
I shaved my head when I turned 18 after my family forced me to get relaxers up until that point. I did it without telling anyone, will never forget the look on my grandmothers face 😂 it was so liberating and felt amazing, I think everyone should shave their heads at least once in life. Plus when it's growing back you go on such a journey of patience and loving oneself at every stage. Growing against beauty standards is fantastic. So good.
The power of hair , empaths suck all that energy up when they have to do your hair. And when you take other people hair I feel as though you take on a new journey. Hopefully after this cleanse you find your way❤
I did the same two years ago, I see now the power in doing it yourself. I had a beautician cut it. I went in super confident, I left in a full panic attack. I was never able to fully embrace my bald head or my beauty without my hair/locs. I immediately got braids and maintained protective styles For the last 2 years. It didn’t go as planned. I didn’t feel as free as I thought I would. If I ever embark on this journey again I will definitely do it myself and maintain that personal connection that is so crucial. Thank you for sharing this with us.
you look so beautiful! you could see how much lighter you felt in your face at the half way point of cutting! what a transformational experience! im so happy for you!
Veladya there is something so liberating about shaving the hair off completely. I did something similar last year and I felt free, empowered and uninhibited! Good for you as this marks a fresh beginning.
Gorgeous 😍😍😍🙌🏾🙌🏾 it’s giving the completion of a cycle and into the next phase of womanhood❤ you have been thru and made it thru so much on your journey of self discovery and motherhood. This is a release. A time to live and be truly free. A Rebirth indeed. Welcome Veladya 🙏🏾 ✨
Girl! You look gorgeous. I remember shaving my curls back in 2015. Best decision ever. They are back down my back now, but sometimes I miss the buzz cut lol.
I cut off all my hair back in February and it felt so invigorating and calming. As soon as the hair was gone I felt lighter and a channel that was blocked just opened up. I had a lot to let go of. You look AMAZING Veladya!
Gorgeous! I cut mine in March 2023. They were eight years long! I was nervous, but I had some severe thinning on the top. I decided to go back to afro as a reset, rest my scalp and work on the thinning. This is my third (fourth?) TWA. So refreshing! Also, feeling the water on my scalp? The BEST! 💚
You look gorgeous ❤❤❤ it is so liberating to cut our hair super short. I did it a few years ago then had a mohawk now everything is growing back thicker and more beautiful and I appreciate it more bc of the big chop! GO MAMA 🫶🏽 KEEP SHINING✨
Absolutely stunning! 💖 The hair doesn’t make the woman, the woman makes the hair. I have been considering a big chop before a back surgery coming up in a couple of months, now I just tore my right rotator cuff. I has become so difficult to do anything with my hair. TBT I have a pumpkin head too and wasn’t sure how I would look. You have given me the confidence to just do it! Thank you! 💖
This was so nice to watch! I already told you in IG seeing your short made me want to cut Mine again....but seeing the energy between you and Matt and the way you can see him looking at you in the background looking all proud 🥰 You guys seem like youre at a good place and it is nice to see that!
As a woman who's *known* for always having short hair/a shaved head, who's grown locs since knowing I was pregnant all the way to now (she's 10 months old), I TRULY felt this video and the transition you made. Fully supporting this. You look incredible. Your head was instantly and visably held higher after cutting that last loc. Kudos to this rebirth, you wear it so well x
I’m all about short hair have been for over 20 years. When I have challenging times in my life more than what my physical and mental being can overcome…I always revert to releasing the weight and negative energy from the top of my temple my crown!!👩🏼🦲I shave it off myself or get a pixie cut!! 3 days ago I did it again Today I clam REBIRTH!! Just signed up for your BREATHING CLASS X2 for me and my Daughter!! You look FABULOUS and RADIANT!!! Love how the whole fambam was involved!! ❤️🇵🇷🥰✌🏽🫶🏼
You look absolutely gorgeous! Love this for yo u especially this feels like a “fresh start”. Thank you Veladya for taking us on your big chop journey. Your photos are going to be amazing❤
Girl, all your videos be making me tear up lately❤ Seeing your family come back together and this new you is giving me all the feels. You look absolutely stunning🥰☺️
Peace Queen. I’m new to your you tube channel . My brother sent your manifestation- for beginners video on Monday last week and I felt a sense of calm, I can do this and so much more . I can’t even put it into words. You’re so inspiring. Thank you. Now this video right here touches me because I been wanting to be free of my hair because I’m not my hair like cutting it off but afraid of how others will perceive me and how will I perceive myself . I believe part of me is holding me back . I have traction alopecia in the crown of my hair and it’s very little and thin compared to the rest of my hair and it’s a uphill battle to get it where I like. I hide behind thus with head wraps or even getting a style I know that’s going to make it worse due to the pulling but I’m not ready to let it go. I say what if I look like a boy, or my kids and husband won’t like it , my family and friends won’t like it. Uggh I’m stuck . But in all honesty how do I let go of this feeling. As someone told me Inspire everyone else but I don’t inspire myself. Just seeing this video right here bought tears up my eyes because the joy, happiness, and support from you daughter and husband gave me goosebumps. You were beautiful with locs and even more beautiful without. You look amazing . Are there any words of encouragement? This video touched me so much .
I was wondering if you were going to cut your hair. You have had such a journey with these locs and hair holds energy. To see you start this new chapter and let go of that energy, is so beautiful.
Veladyaaaaaa!! OMGGGG! First off, I took a nap and I woke up to your email and I immediately came here. The wild thing about it all was I was meditating and praying and I recently was going back and forth with the idea of cutting off all of my hair and dying it. But atlas I too suffer from an egg shaped head more severe than yours. (I think my momma took the "flat to back" baby thing a little too serious lol) so I've been apprehensive about it to say the least but I saw another video this week about hair holding onto things, like energy and trauma and I've felt so disconnected with my natural hair as of late but then my Papaw (God rest his soul) says it's bad luck for a woman to cut her hair so you can see girl I'm so indecisive. Anywho, I have always admired people like you who can go full force into an unchangeable choice so quickly. Like there is no going back from that and it's freeing and liberating and brave. Gurrrl, boo thang is right!! You look HOT!! Okayyy mommas I see you with the gold hoops and errrything!! The more you all cut the more of your beauty and inner light I saw coming forth, foreal. I love this for you and I love you and your family. I'm manifesting being able to join you on one of your group trips in the future. Blessings ❤ Sidenote: Finger waves bout to be POPPING!!! Just get you some good moose, a comb and a durag and watch some tutorials on UA-cam it'll be great 😊
I cut my hair two months before marrying my husband and a second time (accidentally) while he was away at basic training for the military. Still no regrets. It was so much attached to that hair. I was able to grow it back out within three years. My husband also cut it for me.
The photo shoot looked amazing. Veladya mommy you are naturally beautiful with hair long/ short, you were in your earthy element in those photo shots. Loved it!! The great thing about cutting your hair is number one, the light weight you feel afterwards, both literally and figuratively. Second, the hair grows back so full and healthy. Veladya darling you can definitely rock this look. 😊
I’ve been thinking about cutting my 13 year old locs for the past 2 years! The 1st time was after my divorce so I do know how liberating and transformational the process can be. So I have finally decided to cut this weekend and let go of all the funk that I have accumulated and carried long enough now… So thank you Sis for sharing your process. You look absolutely stunning, so gorgeous and you’ve encouraged me to go forward and not look back… …Re-birthing and preparing for my best life yet…in love, light & healing...💯💜💃💃💃
Wow. The new look is absolutely stunning. This look is SO ORGANICALLY YOU, I forgot how you looked with locs. I actually had to go rewatch the beginning of the video. 😂
Wow. Just wow. You look amazing Veladya not only your looks but your aura is vibrant! Love this rebirth. I soon will be doing this too, thank you for the inspiration. 🙏

I had to cut my locs to release the trauma and innerG that was being held. I look forward to restarting my locs in a happier and healthier mindset because I'm doing the work weekly to heal myself.
