What a fucking man. Four months odd clean, but everytime I walk out the door every junkie in Luton is the only people I see. I'll never go back to it but I'd love to have a figure like Billy around. These men are few and far between. People that just have to let you know a little of what they've been through and overcome and have a few words of encouragement that makes get going and back in the fight.

love the honesty with a bit of scouse humour thrown in. (Im not a scouser, son of a cockney but grew up near Liverpool..so got a chip on each shoulder lol.) You obviously had a much tougher life than me Billy but there is a pit anyone can end up in. My way out was reading the small Gideons bible given me at school and the where to find help index took me to Psalm 40 and there I read about the man who wrote it over 2000 years ago in a similar pit, dark, filthy and with the tiny light of the way out way above his head.. Voluntary worked for a while in the City Mission cafe in Mount Pleasant and it was there that I started to understand scouse humour...a little old lady in one corner of the cafe giving it to this little old man in another corner and im wetting myself laughing whilst washing the dishes..... One of my first experiences of Liverpool was walking down the centre of Scotty Road after being to Anfield and having this big copper kick me up the backside for no reason..love the podcasts

You never even mentioned u in one of my favourite films, not 2 and 3, 1,4 and 5 are good but Rambo 4 was the turning point to realism, a man that's been thorough that would BE like that, 'fuck the world' he says when asked for the boat journey. A bit like Marlon Brando's renegade heart of darkness from Apocalypse Now film from Conrad's heart of darkness. Mind you it wasn't like we was joined at the hip, just seen ya each week.
