@@jaredcrabbI kind of think it should have just been a magic damage / int-scaling counterpart to Erdtree Greatshield. At least then it wouldn’t be crippling its own gimmick by the fact that it’s a small shield.

Oh, also, I forgot to mention in the video that this shield's counter hit does NOT gain the damage boost after perfect blocking with the hardtear (I guess cause the game doesn't class it as a guard counter?)

Honestly might be your best mid video song section you've done. Also, you're an absolute legend for actually summoning Igon for the Bayle fight. So many challenge runners don't do it because it "breaks the rules" or they refuse to use summons, but fighting Bayle without Igon is like eating oreos without milk. Just because you "can" doesn't mean you "should".
You arent dealing damage with something other than whatever the challenge is, so I cant say I see where they are coming from. Killing bosses by looking at them I dont think breaks any rules. I actually played healer to Igon (and mimic until it died from constanrly running into Bayles attacks or the wall, dumb thing took its weapons off).
@@jaredcrabb Depending on the run, some challenge runners view anything that deals damage that you deliberately have to trigger, (such as summoning for a boss), as them dealing damage with something other than the challenge tools. Beyond that though, a lot of challenge runners don't use summons for a few reasons other than just the rules. The main one though tends to be they think it makes it "too easy" because they're used to the majority of soulslikes having summoning be more of a crutch, given how in earlier games, a lot of the summons could solo bosses pretty easily. In Elden Ring though, the bosses are a bit more balanced around the idea that you can summon in general for every fight via spirit ashes, so NPC summons generally aren't as effective. They do still help, and like you said you can play healer for them and they will still eventually win, but they're not as broken. I do get it though, since part of the challenge is generally making it as hard as can be, since that's what a lot of people watch such videos for.
