Hi Drew, What a beautiful box with a very heart felt purpose for its construction. Love your sense of humour during the video and glad you weren't hurt form what happened in the out takes. Cheers, Huw
Little comments like "vandalizing the bottom of it.." get me every time. Great videos with good laughs. Shows the kind of guy you are as well doing something like this. Put a lot of thought into it.
Beautiful result Drew. On the box joint jig: even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. I love it when I figure out how to do something in a better way. Keeps me going back.
I was _”watching”_ this in the car, and having some background knowledge on this wonderful system for kids, the effort and time you put into it brought tears to my eyes! That was the most dangerous part of listening while driving; I had to stop s at a parking to catch my breath! The box is perfect! So happy for the kid who will receive it knowing there are people like you to elevate them out of that godforsaken moment! I am not religious, but god bless you my man!
Loved this!! As the father of a brain stem cancer survivor, I really appreciate you making such a beautiful piece to brighten an ill child’s day. My son has a very long string of “beads of courage.” Keep up the great videos. Love the channel.- Un-Wreck It Ron
Hey there Mr. Fisher! Before my question.. just want to say.. "I love your sense of humour!" This adds even more depth of appreciation to watching your videos. I always get a good chuckle several times within the timeframe of watching all of your videos. - Okay.. now on with my question. Please post (preferrably email me) a link to wherever I can get my hands on one of the silicone glue mats you have featured in this video. I never even thought of such a trick and instead was using old newspapers to keep my bench free of drips (both glue and finishing products) but the idea of a silicone mat is just one of those 'another level' markers that will make a huge difference in both my productivity AND the lessening of time setting up and cleaning up for these aspects of my wood working. Again.. thanks for the humor. And good luck with that belly expansion adjustment you mentioned. Maybe you can take up making a wooden corset, and resolve that splinter problem you encountered when you took on your wooden underwear project.
This whole project is terrific. I'm sure that the child that receives this will be absolutely thrilled. Maybe you could add a dvd of the build (sans the oh craps :)). God bless you for this.
As someone that worked on a volunteer rescue squad for 15 years and full time for a few years in an ER, I can tell you little things like this help kids find courage they may not have realized they already had. Thanks to Beads of Courage and to you too Drew!
First comment young man. Over here in Scotland we don't have this bead system but we do have many centre's that care for children with all type's of conditions. Myself and some of my friends at the Men's Shed will gladly make these and fill with real chocolate's. Imagine the eye's light up when they see these.
I was looking into the program and noticed that there are three participating hospitals in Scotland: Sick Kids in Edinburgh Dundee Childrens Yorkhill, Glasgow
You're absolutely awesome! You have become one of my favorite YT channels. Also you're not awful at using a chisel, it just seems that it needs some honing to make it razor sharp - it makes a huge difference. Cheers
Although you may not read this I have to tell you that my husband and I love your videos, not only for the great projects like this one but for the laughter. We sometimes laugh until we cry. This is great for my hubby because he became pretty disabled a couple of years ago and doesn’t laugh much these days but he laughs so hard with every one of your videos. For that, I must say THANK YOU SO MUCH! Keep putting out great videos. 😁
Thanks Drew... I’m gonna steal this idea using hedge and hard maple to make a sugar frosted lemon cake for my granddaughters. I don’t comment often but I always watch and thoroughly enjoy.
You're amazing for doing this and wonderful work! As a daddy of a leukemia warrior (who has more beads of courage than I can count), kind gestures like this do more than you could imagine for the kids in battle! Thanks again!
As always, really nice work. And for a great cause too. I made that box joint jig and I can tell you from experience, it makes perfect box joints every time. Really well designed, and the plans are a cinch to follow.
I really like the look of the Ash and Walnut, great wood combo. The detail of the dripping chocolate is over the top. I commend you for that! Another great build and entertaining video, thanks for sharing!
Really good look...I'm not talking about the box either.. well done sir...I will look into this project also...oh and the finished project is outstanding...great idea.
Loved the BEAUTIFUL box, some child will treasure it I'm sure -- I love your presentation, your voice is soothing and cheerful and your out takes remind me of ---- well ME.
What a cool project! It really does look like chocolate is dripping all down it! Whoever ends up getting that will love putting their beads of courage in there.
I work at a children’s hospital and I’ve not heard about the Beads of Courage charity. This was an awesome idea. If I make something like this I’m going to donate it at work.
I stumbled onto your channel and have to say I love it. This box is very cool and the build reason is even cooler!! I am a commercial roofer but woodworking is my passion and hope to do it full time soon and start my own channel. Thank you for great content!! I love your commentary of the videos. I almost spit out my coffee a few time laughing lol
Love the videos! I like how you show the outtakes at the end. I think that helps keep new woodworkers interested as they can see that even the pros make simple mistakes sometimes but push on. Thanks for all the great content!
My friend, that is an absolutely beautiful chocolate box. My old pastor made one. I’ll get a picture of it for you. Man, amazing work. I wish I could come build and learn from and with you.
I love your videos. Your work is excellent but I especially appreciate the "blooper." It helps to know that no one is perfect and that we all make mistakes. "Oh crap!"
Love the project! Good to see so many people using their talents for a good cause. Really appreciate you showing the out takes reminding us that we are all human and are not perfect all of the time.
Enjoyed the video and that is a really nice gift and I'm sure a child will enjoy it. What a cool idea. Thanks for taking the time to produce the video. Y'all take care and God bless.
Awesome job! That's a really special box I'm sure will make some great kid's day. Oh, and Outtakes -- I'm glad I'm not the only one stuff like that happens to! Cheers!
Nice job. Isn’t it interesting just how many steps go into making a box. I really do enjoy your channel, it’s to the point, a bit humorous, and the outtakes definitely show that you are human.
Drew, this is an amazing looking box for a great cause! I am a little disappointed that you didn't make a cake and drip chocolate on it to get the pattern, and then eat said cake. I'll make one and send you the address so I can do my part too... Keep up the great work!
Awesome isn't enough. This box shows off MANY skills without being too much. It's subtle but still shows so much. And all for a good cause! You got my like and sub.
Love the box. My son had gone through chemo and radiation and would of loved a box like this one. Hopefully sometime soon I can make something like this for the same reason.
Hola! 🖐That is one yummy looking box!🤩Even better that it's going to help others. Very cool idea with that dark wood, I mean chocolate accent. Good call on that base, it really does balance everything and gives it that magic touch. Take care and have a good one, Adios!👊
The maker community has a long history of great stuff like this, and this is a beautiful addition to the cause. Very creative Drew... and tasty. Oh so tasty.
Yeah, awesome job, that's really cool.
best blooper reel every. Oh, yeah great cake!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is delightfully creative.
Amazing work!
Thanks a lot!
Thank you

The humor is really top notch... very much like good "Dad humor" in my humble opinion.
"i spent the better part of a decade..." lol.
This is amazing. I’m sure you will put a smile on that child’s face when they receive it
Thanks Tamar! :)
Another woodworker I adore :)

Thanks, Dave. Just google for Rockler Silicone mat and you'll find it.
The best wood working project on the internet. You Sir are one of a kind. God bless.
That looks awesome! What a worthwhile project. Thanks for donating your time and materials to such a great cause
Thanks, Zach!
Loved this one! Great work as always...and such a cool idea. 😀
Thanks to both of ya!
Sweet. Great work for a great cause, good on you sir.
Fantastic cause and a wonderful gift for one of these brave kids. Thanks for sharing!!!

I didn't realise they done this here in which case I will speak to the guys and we can go down that road. Thank you for the info.
@@wwscott7595 I'm glad I could help. I happened to see your comment and the information at about the same time so I had to pass it on.
This is your most beautiful build yet.
You're absolutely awesome! You have become one of my favorite YT channels.
Also you're not awful at using a chisel, it just seems that it needs some honing to make it razor sharp - it makes a huge difference.

You make some of the best videos. Not too long, no crazy loud music, and very entertaining. A+++
Thanks 👍

Very nice work Drew. Any kid would love that.
Excellent and beautiful build. And a very worthwhile charity.
What a great program.
Once you work out the splinters, the best name is wood for your wood.

Doing something like this always gives me that peaceful loving feeling in my heart
I love your videos. Your work is excellent but I especially appreciate the "blooper." It helps to know that no one is perfect and that we all make mistakes. "Oh crap!"
I am reaching out to them now! I am also asking if they would want wood or acrylic beads turned on the lathe!
THANK YOU DREW!!!
God Bless You and these children. Wish I could like this a million times! The box is beautiful
Love the project! Good to see so many people using their talents for a good cause. Really appreciate you showing the out takes reminding us that we are all human and are not perfect all of the time.
