Wow, I am so impressed with your children. When they were opening their gifts they both said thank you. Connor and Keira Both have such good manners. Good job mom and dad. So many kids today are unappreciative! It is so heartwarming to see children appreciate what their parents have done for them
I can't wait to buy your cookbook!! I love your videos! My prayer for you is to give yourself more grace. You're a GREAT mom, wife, worker and human being!!! Please don't ever let anyone dull your shine! You are awesome! ❤
I just rewatched this again...those beautiful children, and murphy honking his hedgehog made me tear up with joy...you're such a wonderful, hardworking wife and mother😘
The kids were so sweet opening gifts! What a great job you are doing Mama. “Aww thank you!” I had tears. How lucky they are to have so much love in their home. You should be so proud!
Loved watching the kids open presents! You can definitely tell how appreciative they are for each and every one. You’re raising some wonderful little humans!
I'm a 26 year old woman and your daughter's Christmas looks like what I want 😂 stardew valley, a cozy beanie and some gift cards sounds hella good to me!
Your family is beautiful!! Murphy and his duck made me tear up.... our sweet Hondo loved her ducks at Christmas..... thank you and your family for sharing your time … ❤️
Merry Christmas Chapin Family!!! I love seeing kids that are excited for each gift and say thank you. It is a pet peeve of mine. Keira is turning into a beautiful girl! Both Connor and Keira are so polite and kind.
Jen, A very Merry Christmas to you and your family. The kids clearly enjoyed opening their presents and they were so polite, remembering to say Thank You. Sometimes a more relaxed slower paced celebration is more enjoyable for everyone. At the last minute we had to postpone Christmas until New Years Day. The 40” of snow melting together with the 2” of rain overnight, flooded our backyard and our leach field, so we had no bathrooms😞. Once I quit crying😀, I realized that my sons, who are both in their 40s were fine with it. Just a typical finish for 2020. But now we have something to look forward to😀🎄. I’m just grateful that we have all stayed safe and healthy. Wishing you, Adam and the kids a blessed 2021.
Jen, watching your children open Christmas gifts was so heartwarming. You and your husband have done a wonderful job raising two special human beings! Happy new year to you!
I love seeing your family interact with each other ♥️ I loved it that you shared your time with all of us. Some of us, that are alone so much of the time, really feel like we are a part of your family and Thank You for that. You brighten my day. ♥️♥️♥️
I'm in Michigan and I can do a LOT of the winter in just a hoodie for quick in and out of stores or whatever. Bulky coats while grocery shopping is the pits.
I make caramel corn too. My recipe calls plain popped corn. Initially the caramel sauce does not cover all the popcorn, but it then bakes at 250 for an hour total, but each 15 min interval, you pull out the pan and quickly give it a stir. It’s time consuming, but turns out with everything well coated and crunchy.
Hah. Keira, with her gift card. That was quite a face. 😍 They were so polite! My kids are getting big, and they’re so much harder to shop for. Connor was so so sweet with excitement!
Jen, I have not made caramel corn with pre popped popcorn like you used, but when I make mine I always have the oven set to about 200 degrees and keep the popped corn in it so that it is warm when I put the caramel over it. My mother-in-law taught me to do it like that and it does work pretty well.
HI ! I make the caramel corn using Old Dutch brand puff corn(recipe on their bag) - My local brand-I'm inMN. For me I have to use a large roasting pan. Even an aluminum one works, but it is easier to stir if you have a big pan. And I find it so sweet that a few not-fully-coated pieces make for good sweet/saltly balance. Love your videos!
Merry Christmas Chapin Family!!! The bacon wrapped lil smokies are delicious. I made them for the first time this year. They were a big hit... Our family's favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story.
The caramel corn recipe looked really close to my mom’s recipe and she has used it on puffed corn as well! For our recipe we have to stir the caramel corn every 15 minutes for the hour bake, which helps to coat more pieces.
Awww Keira's cookies were amazing she should be proud! I am very proud of that accomplishment to! They looked delicious! Was wonderful sharing your Christmas morning and at Grandmas house. Thank you. Christmas Blessing to you all. Hugs and luv
I call that kinda mix, Nuts and Bolts 🇨🇦. My dad use to make it every Christmas... Cheerios, shreddies, pretzels, cheese bites, lots of mixed nuts and peanuts... then the butter mixture of lots of butter, Worcestershire sauce, celery, onion, and garlic salts. He’s been gone almost 11 years. I make it every year now for our family. Xo 🎄🤶
I have never heard of a Maid-rite, but will definately try! It is fun to see recipes from different parts of the country, I grew up in the deep south and my Mom added french dressing instead of the vinegar. She pretty much made it the same after, except she also added sweet pickle relish. I have enjoyed Vlogmas! Thank you!
Yes, Keira! Great looking cookies! Hoping for a better 2021! Thank you for sharing your family with us, Jennifer. Hope your new job is exactly what you needed. Excited about your cookbook! 💜
When I did the caramel puff corn the first time I divided it out like you did. It didn’t come out great. The next time I put it on a huge roasting pan and poured stuff over all of it and baked it. It was amazing!
Good on you for letting go of all the things, it’s hard but also liberating when you no longer put that extra pressure on yourself. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!
First of all, your kids are adorable! Keira and her cookies btw are perfect! We had the kids and grandkids over for a early Christmas last week. Connor reminded me of them and how excited they got when they opened their gifts. Your maid-rites look like what I grew up with as “loose meat sandwiches” . When my parents were gone, my brother and I would walk downtown(small town) to the Bungalow. They had a big pit in the middle where the meat was steamed. They served them in true form. Warm bun, mustard only with loose meat wrapped in wax paper and served in a red plastic basket 😂.
This might seem odd but when I made the caramel corn with the puff corn I put it all in a paper sack and shook it. It worked well. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
It never fails, we're always out of something basic right before Christmas. This year it was potatoes for us, too. Last year it was salt. We alway discover it Christmas eve and it makes for a super fun last minute shopping trip 🤦
Your children are so sweet!! I loved watching this video Jen! Thanks for sharing your recipes as well! I’m going to give that crispix recipe a try!! ❤️
When I’ve made the caramel puff corn I used the Old Dutch recipe (which seems the same as yours) and I tossed all the puffs with the caramel mixture in a double paper bag to coat them baked it.
Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family! By the way we have seven of those same Pottery Barn stockings on our fireplace also. Your son Connor has such enthusiasm and what a delight it is watching him. And how great your daughter is enjoying baking too. This was such a pared down holiday for us and I want our normal traditions back next year.
I used to do my potatoes like you do, but a few years ago I found a new and to me, easier I peel the potatoes and use a chopper thing to dice them. I steam the diced potatoes. Takes a lot less time to get them done and already peeled and diced. Works for me
1) I love how you and Christine (Frugal Fit Mom) promote each other. Different women supporting each other💜🙌🏻 2) You have the sweetest children💜 Connor esp seems like such a joy…and that’s no “troll” 3) What is a “made right”? I am from the NYC area (specifically a NJ bedroom community) and I have never heard of a “made right”. Do I even have the “name right”? 😂 (made myself laugh 🤪) 4)Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thank you for your videos.💜
Your kids are so sweet and polite! I love that they were taking their time opening gifts, looking at each thing and saying thank you! My son was opening gifts like it was a race 😂
Thanks for sharing your Christmas with us. Looking forward to your book coming out - I’m hoping we will be able to get it in the UK!! I really respect what you do as a working Mum and enjoy watching your content loads. Thanks Jen.
'Hot magma's lol! My grandma made the popcorn every year. She poured all in a brown paper bag and shook to coat. My brother found a bag at Farm and Fleet this year that was really good, though nothing can beat what grandma made 😉
I love Maid Rites! It's been a while since I've had them; I'll definitely need that recipe! Thanks for sharing your Christmas with us; I really admire how calm you are, no matter how much you've got going on! Watching you, I feel like I'm spending time with a friend!
Omg’sh, I have that same yellow bowl that you put the puff popcorn in. My Grandma always used the same bowl in her kitchen when I grew up, so I have the same. Must be an Iowa thing..lol Don’t feel bad about the sugar cookies, because they’re sooo much work!! Oh mylanta, I decided to make them for both of my daughters, well for my Grandloves really, because both of my daughters work full time too, so I made almost 14 dozen this year, of the cut outs, and decorated a bunch myself too. It’s a job and a half..Lol It is a weird year! I thought wrapping presents was extremely taxing as well. Thankfully it’s over!! 😂🤣😂
@@Jen-Chapin Oh wow, that’s so special. :)) I’ve never seen another one until I watched your video. We’ll definitely have to pass them on, as well. God Bless! 🙏🏼
I can’t wait to try your Crispix mix, yum! That looked great! The ingredients are now on my grocery delivery order now for tomorrow so I can make it for New Year’s Eve.
My family has been making Chex mix forever. Started with my grandmother. And as a kid we called it “Stinky Stuff” because of the garlic. We still call it that to this day. :)
Haha I love Connor's exitement while opening gifts! The "trolling" comment was hilarious btw! Keira has grown so much this year! She's a total tween now! Thank you for doing Vlogmas again, we really appreciate it!!!
That’s exactly how I make lil Smokies. Now I need to make some lol. I’ve made Carmel popcorn a few times and I’ve always let the Carmel saice cool and then pour it over the popcorn. Coats very well. I’ve always boiled potatoes whole with skin on for potato salad. That’s how my mom taught me how to make it. I’ve never used vinegar in potato salad. Def goin try your recipe. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I need to try that potato salad. I love the trampoline...it's the best investment! I got one for my daughter ...she loves it(love it too..it burns off all her extra energy😋🤔🤫) Thank you for sharing your eve/xmas day. It's beautiful to see how everyone spent it this 2020.
Try doing the caramel puff corn all in one pan. Then after it's in the oven as you stir it hot it eventually all covers each piece or gets a lot of the caramel onto each piece. Good luck
I just watched your vlogmas 2019 and some got cooking and baking inspiration and my family enjoyed it. I’m glad your family had a beautiful Christmas Day watching movies and enjoying your food and cookies 🍪😊!
Hi beautiful! I made sugar cookie dough Christmas Eve... it’s now the 28th... it’s still sitting in our fridge. Today might be its day to become cookies. Hope you’re enjoying your holidays. Cheers! Xoxo
I love how excited Connor got about every single present! It's so nice to see pure joy in young kids!
It's nice to see kids who are excited about their presents and so polite. You and your husband are raising some good, kind humans. 😀
Thank you, that is a wonderful compliment ❤️
Huh ... you couldn't hear when I said "the mug's on the right side of the cabinet". Haha!
Lol I was saying it too.
I said the same thing, lol
Haha I was like "it's right there!"
😂😂😂
Same! Lol!!

My heart filled with so much joy seeing your daughter genuinely excited for a RBG calendar.
I ❤ this video! Wonderful memories of my childhood. Your mini -me’s are delightful opening their gifts. Love a good maid rite fully dressed.
I love Murphy honking his toy throughout the gift opening. Lol.
I love how polite your kids are - saying Thank you after every present, so sweet! :)
The kids were so sweet opening gifts! What a great job you are doing Mama. “Aww thank you!” I had tears. How lucky they are to have so much love in their home. You should be so proud!

That was so cute. Also the fact that the kids were unwrapping their gifts, & lo and behold here comes Murphy showing off his toy.....twice lol
Connor is such a sweet boy and I love that Keira is getting RBG gifts!
The kids are so cute. I loved too how appreciative they were over the gifts. You could tell they were having so much fun and loved it all.
I love your kids reactions to their gifts. Especially Conner’s reactions to the gifts you gave him. I’m glad you all had a great Christmas 🎄

In the southern part of Germany we marinate the potatoes for the salad in warm vinegar.

Freeze the cookie dough and use it to make cookies for Valentine's day.
Good idea!
This morning was 35 degrees. Just a cotton sweater for me. In Western Washington I'm thankful when it isn't raining..
Keira did a great job on the cookies. And Conner was so excited with every gift. Very sweet!!

When I did the caramel puff corn the first time I divided it out like you did. It didn’t come out great. The next time I put it on a huge roasting pan and poured stuff over all of it and baked it. It was amazing!
We always do a nontraditional Christmas dinner. We will make enchiladas or lasagna or sometimes even bbq.
I use a roasting pan for caramel corn so maybe the bigger pan would work better? It all looks yummy.
Good on you for letting go of all the things, it’s hard but also liberating when you no longer put that extra pressure on yourself. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!
