How cool it would be to have one of these for my hubby. He has a brain injury and right now he rides an adult tricycle that the pedals don't give him the extension he needs. It's great that it's low to the ground. How cleaver. Thanks for posting this, looking forward to part 2. :)

I'm sure your hubby would love it! Recumbents are a bit spendy (both the 2 and 3 wheeled variety) but occasionally you might find a bargain on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, etc. It might be worth checking out. Thanks for watching!

When and where is part two. I bought a 20?? Terratrike Path 3 spd and it is now 18 spd with a 24-50 front on 155mm crank arms and a 34-12 cassette. I go up steep gravel roads and the only drawback is the light back end .
I also raised the seat one inch and put in a slider vs the 4 holes of the seat that do not allow incremental adjustments. The front boom was devoid of braze ons and it is a bit long for a shorter person to fit. I like the internal boom sliding back and forth which of course is someone elses , not mine. Looking forward to see if you paint or powder coat. I have good bright yellow on the bottom and faded dismal yellow on top.

Hey there! Part 1 just dropped on Saturday so part 2 isn’t quite ready yet. I’m hoping it will get posted next weekend but I’m not super sure. My yellow Terra Trike Path seen in the opening of this video also started out as a 3 speed (Sturmey-Archer rear hub with internal transmission) but I swapped out that original drivetrain and turned it into a 14 speed.
I LOVE your genius idea of modifying the seat bracket for infinite adjustment!! Recumbents really tend to attract tinkerers like us, don’t they?! Thank for watching and for adding to the conversation. I think you’ll really enjoy episode 2 of this project and how this labor of love comes together. SPOILER ALERT: I did powder coat it! You may want to click the little notification bell so UA-cam gives you a heads up on when I release the rest of the story. Thanks again for watching!
