3:28 also: * Finsbury Park (Piccadilly - Victoria) * Highbury & Islington (Northern City - Victoria; yes, I know the Northern City isn't an actual Tube line but still) * Kennington (the two branches of the Northern line) * Stockwell (Northern - Victoria) :-)
lipkinasl Except there's no need to change at Queen's Park, as normally you can get a direct Bakerloo or Overground train to wherever you want to go :D
Some of these might be slightly wrong: Baron's court (District and Piccadilly line) Wembley Park + Finchley Road (Metropolitan and Jubilee) Canonbory + Highbury and Islington Overground (Stratford Branch westbound and East London Branch Eastbound only) Stratford (Central line and Crossrail + Greater Anglia + C2C) Ealing Broadway (Central and District line) Norwood Junction (Overgound and Southern Railway) Wembley Central + Harrow and Weildstone (Bakerloo line + Overground and Southern Railway and West Midlands railway) West Brompton + Kensington Olympia (District and Overground + Southern Railway Northbound)
I got a hack, when on the 18 bus & you want to go to Paddington station don't get off at Edgware road to get the Bakerloo or H&C line instead stay on the bus & get off at Hermitage street and walk across the basin to Paddington station
Hey! Even though I'm not a Londoner (just visited once, and yeah, I did change at Bank), I'm really loving the videos - great production quality and a very entertaining host. Wish you more subs! For no apparent reason, lately I got really fascinated by underground networks - lines, stations, maintenance tunnels etc. I found this detailed tube map carto.metro.free.fr/cartes/metro-tram-london/ and I wonder if there are any blueprints or 3D models of individual tube stations (such as Bank/Monument) for everyone to examine.
P.S. Did a bit of research, and now I'm one happy Tube geek: stations.aeracode.org/ www.ianvisits.co.uk/blog/2015/07/12/3d-maps-of-every-underground-station-ab/
I have a railcard too so save around £2 a journey off peak zones 1-4. I wait at my local station and tap in at exactly 9.30 to get the discount. Same for running to the station for 4pm and waiting until 7pm before I come back.
If you're bringing luggage it's probably best to have a max. of two small suitcases you can easily CARRY not pull. You will find it easier to tackle stairs instead of struggling with one massive, heavy case. The tube wasn't built to carry the traffic of today - the stairs and corridors are narrow and congested. Travel light or risk being very unpopular...
I love love love your videos. As a foreigner coming in to visit, this is awesome. Thank you! Could you help me get from tower or London/central London to gatwick airport? I'm heading there to catch a Ryanair flight to another European city and not sure how to get there. Also what's the best route from heathrow to central London? Is there somewhere I can store my luggage while I tour at the underground? Thank you for any help and keep the videos coming.
Hello & thank you so much for your comments about our videos. So glad you love love love them - we love love love making them. Ok - down to business: Getting from London to Gatwick Airport you have a couple of options. The Gatwick Express which goes from Victoria Station takes 30 minutes, its quicker but more expensive. Or the slower but cheaper Trains from London Bridge, London Farringdon or Blackfriars. The Heathrow Express from Paddington Station will cost you a bit more but is relatively fast, taking 15 minutes and running every 15 minutes. Alternatively you can get the Piccadilly Line from central London which will take around an hour but will be cheaper than the Heathrow Express. I hope that helps - do let us know if you have any more questions :-)
need a tip!!!!I am travelling all the way from Heathrow fo farringdon station. I know I will change at kings cross...but which line should I choose to farringdon ??? I need minimal walking distance as I am travelling with heavy luggage...Thanks a mil & love love love your channel;)
Doreen - you have come to the right place! So glad you love the channel, we love making it! So the best thing to do is to change from the Piccadilly line to either the Metropolitan line, Circle line or Hammersmith & City line. All three of those go from the same platform. Once off the Piccadilly line you have to go up the escalators and then it's a short walk to the three lines. Good luck! And let us know if you need any more London advice :-)
I'm packing lighter next time. I learned my lesson the first time. Navigating the tube with heavy luggage after a long sleepless trip was no fun. I've heard Rick Steves say it a million times but there is nothing like actually making that mistake to teach you that lesson.
Im looking to go excel london for a long weekend and ill be traveling on the tube on the dlr line. at peak times and at about 11 at night. Any tips for being safe at night and how bad is the dlr line at night and at peak times
Hi there, the DLR line is all above ground so is safe in that sense. Don't sit in carriages on your own and keep your phone out of sight. Also download city mapper so you know when the next train will be so you are not waiting alone on quiet platforms.
No, when Charles Tyson Yerkes came to London and bought what were then independent underground railways he brought his knowledge of running US metros to the Uk and changed much of the language used; gone were 'Up' and 'Down' to be replaced by 'Northbound' and 'Southbound' etc. and the individual vehicles were called cars, which is still their official title today.
The way he pulled the luggages up the stairs cracked me up
Our work here is done ;-)
Why are your videos so good/ funny/ entertaining/ awesome
I got another life hack, Walk from Marble Arch to Edgware Road, It's quicker and you can beat the tube!
+Aaron Maddocks Brilliant. Thank you - will try it out ASAP
k

There is still cheaper options on regular trains from London Victoria on trains to Sussex South Coast.

Walking from Turnpike Lane Station to Wood Green Station literally takes about 5/7 mins...quicker than the Piccadilly line
Is the tubenav app still around? I can’t find it to download in the App Store and the link doesn’t work.

We all do it, I always overpack - I am useless! Syrus ;-)
It would be great if you showed the actual things you talk about.

+Endozoso Gaming No, come to London first. Come to London forever!!!!!!!!!!!
*NO*
Jk,i will come and find you and your house
me and my friend nearly got locked in Bank station once
"There's no limit on baggage allowance" - this is nonsense. Refer to section 13 of TFL's conditions of carriage.
The apps are a bit useless if you don't have an iphone! Shame, they look good.
They are called tube CARS not CARRIAGES!
.....we call them carriages........
