I'm a master artist, I've mastered the skills in four thousand pieces, expert advice dear from a schizophrenic artist of forty years. Everyone sucks at first, most people give up because they don't get instant gratification. There's a unwritten law of business, it takes ten thousand hours and five thousand pieces to become a master at everything, we all suck at first. It's the journey not the destination it the process not the art, you must learn to flow like water in the art, you see your trying to be perfect, as a critic it looked like a early van Gogh onion. If you screw up tell everyone it abstract so you never seem like you messed up it gives you the freedom to learn and takes the pressure off, study wabi Sabi the art of imperfections. It will help you, perfection is a delusional mind set no one is perfect, have a glass of wine put in music and paint like you are a master because believing is 90% of the challenge
Hi Kimberly! It is a journey, and learning experience for sure, but you seem to know how to figure out your errors which means you can fix them. I think you will be good at it, because you love to do it, but like everything its a process. UGh LOL I love Monet too! You have been looking very relaxed and happy! Always pretty! Have a great weekend! 🤗💛💙💚
Dear Kimberly, I haven't seen your videos for a while now so, good to be back. I am so glad you got in the art school - congratulations, you should really be proud of yourself!! 😊 Wishing you all the best ❤
I went to a "wine and paint party" once here in NZ... I didn't drink but the rest did... Was a community group and I painted two really big canvases after I still have because of it... I want to get a sketch book and draw in pencil and might go to the art shop today thanks for the reminder! I'm sure even Monet thought he was rubbish if he didn't like a painting ha
like i said.. watercolors is what i am used to, but oil is my dream. the journey will be fun for you! i like the idea that i don't have to hurry so much!! with water colors its do or d!e 😄 and i love the idea of being bale to manipulate several times. don't lose hope so fast. even though i know the feeling very well!!!! i struggle a lot with seeing the point in hobbies. i am in my depression phase, and i haven't done my hobbies in such a long while. can't get my brain to do it. haven't read a book in so long. i am trying to find motivation on how to do it, even when you don't feel like it.... you inspire me Kimberly ♥ you really do. I am so proud of you for going to art school and keeping up with your videos, makes me feel less alone with this illness. and you are also just such a sweetheart. and hello you are my neighbor ! i am on Bornholm so you are not far away. i hope you enjoy these early summer days. i don't like heat, but the trees and flowers and animals make me smile ♥ lots of love your way 😍
thank you!! ❤ And yes, I really love the drying time with oils, you have so much more time to manipulate the paint. 😍 But it's so strange to work in the opposite order. I Hope you'll get out of the depression phase soon, life really gets better. you just have to be patient even though it's hard. Sending you some love too! ❤
Målar främst med akryl och lite akvarell tycker nog att det är svårt med olja för all torkningsprocess men det är ju värt ett försök lycka till med din målning och målarskola 👩🏽🎨
I am mostly a colored pencil and pen and ink artist (if I can call myself that). I have had some luck with watercolor but my few tries with oil have been ..well.. interesting. I think it is a whole new learning curve with oils. I think the colors you chose for your onion were very vivid and the brush strokes bold and expressive.
The thing about not being able to do something is it makes you teachable. If you already knew how to do something then nobody would be able to tell you anything. And you wouldn't be able to learn. "Stick to the basics, the fundamentals," is advice I heard decades ago too. I think a lot of your viewers can already tell you are extremely talented.
I do digital art and sculpt and even was accepted into an art school years ago, but my schizophrenia prodrome made it impossible for me to go. I also had pretty bad social anxiety for most of my life, which made everything worse. Nowadays, i barely get around to doing art because of my negative and cognitive symptoms. It has also become almost impossible for me to read because of my cognitive symptoms. I don't remember the last time i read a whole book. Yeah, schizophrenia sucks, basically. I wish you all the best and believe in you. Your videos are awesome and so are you. ☺️
thank you! schizophrenia really suck, especially in the first years I think, you're just trying to figure out how to live with it. I wish you all the best also and have a great weekend! 🥰
Perhaps after learning in class more about working with the medium of oils, you will be able to get a result more pleasing to you. A dear friend is a professional artist and I think to get a piece you like, an artist creates many that you consider "failed"! Hang in there!
My cat watched about 3/4 of this video with me and seemed to enjoy it.
oh that warms my heart! 🥰

thank you! great advice really! I'm definitely a perfectionist so it's hard letting go of that mindset sadly but as I said, this is great advice! 🥰

Jo samtidigt så är det torkningprocessen jag gillar med olja, men det är så ovant. Tack! 🥰
Relaxing to watch brush strokes and paint mixing 🎨
It is! 😊
@@Kimberly_Viktoria One of my old medication had an guide which said to do something creative like painting. I think it was called Abilify.

thank you Holly! and you're right, its a learning curve for sure. 🥰
maybe you couldnt paint because you were drunk? who gets drunk before going to work?
I had one glas of wine? I was nowhere near drunk. Also what do you mean before work? 😂
@@Kimberly_Viktoria painting is a job for many people.
