OMG je suis également une fan de ses 3 groupes !! 🤘😜 Et Jonathan mériterait tellement plus tellement qu'il est bon 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 reprise comme originale song 🤤🤤
It describes the self-imposed ignorance of the masses in a nutshell. Rather than trying to solve the problems we face today, many would rather just pretend they don't exist.
Here are to the best of my transcription abilities, the lyrics: Heave ho, for the world is ending Heave ho, tell me why you mourn Heave ho, the accursed blessing Children of night lost in the eye of the storm Close my eyes, change my mind Pretend my ship’s not sinking Hear the screams, just a dream Pretend I hear them singing With heart and anchor heavy Can’t carry all the weight I’m trying to believe it’s not too late Heave ho, for the world is ending Heave ho, tell me why you mourn Heave ho, the accursed blessing Children of night lost in the eye of the storm Lost in the eye of the storm Blissful sleep, leave me be For just a little longer Feel no pain, wind or rain The truth won’t make me stronger With heart and anchor heavy Can’t carry all the weight Forever I’ve been trying to escape Heave ho, for the world is ending Heave ho, tell me why you mourn Heave ho, the accursed blessing Children of night lost in the eye of the storm It’s the clearest of weather If you don’t look around How many tears altogether Till we’ve built the ocean where we drown Oh, heave ho, for the world is ending Heave ho, tell me why you mourn Heave ho, this accursed blessing Children of night lost in the eye of the storm Heave ho, hahaha Heave ho, lost in the eye of the storm Heave ho Lost in the eye of the storm
Listening to Johnathan's original works over the last few years I think he has really come into his own as a solo artist - I would recognize this song as one of his immediately. I think it's really a sign of a great artist when they have that clear of a musical identity even across genres and styles.
If you removed his singing you'd have an impossible time telling me if this was Sabaton or Power Wolf. He's become a generic regurgitation of the power metal genre with rock ballad breakdowns to throw the scent.
Children of Night is also the title of the upcoming album. And yes, I love all the references between different songs! Pretty sure we will here that phrase at least one more time. (I've heard at least on demo version of a song on his Twitch stream with "Children of Night" in the lyrics.)
Somehow I get the feeling (possibly tipped off by the Children of Night reference and the shared attitude towards the world) that this is... about more than just sailing ships. But it works on its own level, as well as as an expression of distress at how the world's being negligently managed and how our own communities and connections are our only refuge from it, as well as from the feeling of impending doom, especially climate-related. You can ignore all the implication and just enjoy it separate from that, though, and I'm fairly certain it's hard to make a song that can be enjoyed both ways without making one feel compromised by the other. (I wouldn't know, I'm not an artist, but it seems like I've seen a bunch of art where they've worked at cross-purposes).
@@nicholaswilliamschamarro9012 Now the number of listens to this song has tripled. Or maybe even four times as many. Eye of the Storm is great. Jonathan is a genius.
Jonathan, if I was a director of a pirate movie, you would get hired to write the soundtrack. Every single one of the sea themed songs you do are so good!.
As a person running a pirate-themed Pathfinder campaign, your music has been a continual gift for inspiration and atmosphere. Thank you for yet another banger.
I love how consistently Jonathan puts the titles to his other songs in the Lyrics of his songs, makes it feel less like we're listening to just some guy with absolutely fabulous hair and a glorious beard give us songs that are too good for us, but more like these are songs made in a world where all these events are or have taken place.
I’ve been popping in on your stuff for a number of years in and off ‘cause you’re quite talented and have a unique artistic character, and this is by far my ultimate favorite of anything you’ve ever done. The drama and the power, the ability to rip out emotions I can’t process on my own. It’s not just an awesome headbanger. It is immensely cathartic in a sensory way I don’t know how to articulate. Your being able to make your own art is a blessing for everyone it touches.
Another Banger from the man! I got some serious Alestorm vibes from this one, and I'm ALL for that. I guess all those Sea Shanties influenced this a bit, and I'm not complaining. Your Lyrics are so powerful, with the Music to match, love the leitmotif with all of it, and it just rocks. You know this is on my playlist already! Keep Rockin, Jon!
Been listening on repeat on Spotify since morning. You always sound great but on this one you're so SO powerful! What an awesome song. Love your originals every single time.
These pirate songs would've been absolutely perfect for my friends and I when we were in high school circa 2005-2007. We were into pirates everything. Talking like pirates day in and day out, dressing up for the POTC movies (and in general), me getting saluted in between classes as the captain of our merry motley crew of miscreants, playing POTC in band, dancing to the POTC soundtrack, making up our own sea shanties, and making a general spectacle of ourselves. I had a Jolly Roger flag in my bedroom window. Of course, I was the coolest of the bunch, walking around with my tiny plastic toy sword. :-) Despite my school mascot being an eagle, I got a pirate on my class ring to remember all our good times and laughter, and I still smile every time I see it -- I smile far more than I would've had I opted for the eagle like everyone else. Thanks for the awesome music, JoYo, and keep up the excellent work! Love it!
I'm here for this. I remember watching your covers while in Tech Training in the USAF. Seeing your OG content now? I'm 100% here for it. Rock the f#%k on, man.
A commercial for this played after I was done listening to Powerwolf. Congratulations, first time a commercial instantly had my attention and actually got me to search for the source. Instant like.
Can't wait for another original album! Starship Velociraptor instantly dethroned lots of my old favorite songs. Especially Final Frontier, Army of Tigers, and Storm the Castle. I love songs about love as much as the next girl, but I never knew how direly I needed songs about sword fights and killing the sun!
Dude, this is turning into an amazing album! I am also loving the production value of your videos lately. You are blowing me away! When is this friggin thing dropping?!
I love this! Thank you for making such epicly metaphorical songs to help express the dread, anger, and agony so many of us feel about the state of our climate and society!
The reason many people venture into Trading/ Investing (Financial Market), is so that they can get to have a better life, while working and even after retirement. I've been quite unsure about investing in this current market and at the same time I feel it's the best time to get started on the market. i was at a seminar and the host spoke about making well over $3.5M within a short period of time investing in Cryptocurrency. i need to know what coin to buy
I wasn't financial free until my 40's and I'm still in my 40's, bought my third house already, earn on a monthly through passive income, and got 4 out of 5 goals, just hope it encourages someone that it doesn't matter if you don't have any of them right now, you can start TODAY regardless your age INVEST and change your future! Investing in the financial market is a grand choice I made. Great video! Thanks for sharing! Very inspiring! love this.
I Invested across the top markets but not by myself though. I also follow the guidelines of Mrs Tracy Britt Cool. I can correctly say she is worth her salt as an investment advisor as her diversification skills is top-notch, I say this because of the results, as my portfolio grows by averages of 20 to 30% every month, unlike I can say for my IRA which has just been trudging along. my portfolio just mirrors what she places and not just on some particular industries of my choosing.she gave me that financial freedom I needed.
I can't wait for the full album, I'm legit so excited and I've been waiting impatiently since Starship Velociraptor! Happy to say you're my favorite artist out there and you've got all the support in the world from down under
I can't believe I missed this last year. Pirate metal all the way! I love the video style so much as well - it reminds me of Visions of Atlantis' clips
The song is incredible enough on it's own, but to make such a great video of it too?! You've outdone yourself! Bravo, and congrats to yet another masterpiece!
Who is ready for the full album? 😍
I am ready. 🙏 Please
Aye, Captain!
There's an album in the works? Omg, gimme

As a fan of all 3, he wasn't wrong, this song is right up my alley! Excellent tune!
Gives some Battle Beast vibes too
As a fan of Nightwish, Sabaton, and Powerwolf; you're absolutely correct!
@@DarkblooM_IO you can throw Alestorm to it as well.
It's the clearest of weather if you don't look around.
That line really hits.
It describes the self-imposed ignorance of the masses in a nutshell. Rather than trying to solve the problems we face today, many would rather just pretend they don't exist.
Nothing better than seeing an artist have fun with what they're creating. An absolute banger, well done!
I think all artists have fun with what they're creating tho.
Here are to the best of my transcription abilities, the lyrics:
Heave ho, for the world is ending
Heave ho, tell me why you mourn
Heave ho, the accursed blessing
Children of night lost in the eye of the storm
Close my eyes, change my mind
Pretend my ship’s not sinking
Hear the screams, just a dream
Pretend I hear them singing
With heart and anchor heavy
Can’t carry all the weight
I’m trying to believe it’s not too late
Heave ho, for the world is ending
Heave ho, tell me why you mourn
Heave ho, the accursed blessing
Children of night lost in the eye of the storm
Lost in the eye of the storm
Blissful sleep, leave me be
For just a little longer
Feel no pain, wind or rain
The truth won’t make me stronger
With heart and anchor heavy
Can’t carry all the weight
Forever I’ve been trying to escape
Heave ho, for the world is ending
Heave ho, tell me why you mourn
Heave ho, the accursed blessing
Children of night lost in the eye of the storm
It’s the clearest of weather
If you don’t look around
How many tears altogether
Till we’ve built the ocean where we drown
Oh, heave ho, for the world is ending
Heave ho, tell me why you mourn
Heave ho, this accursed blessing
Children of night lost in the eye of the storm
Heave ho, hahaha
Heave ho, lost in the eye of the storm
Heave ho
Lost in the eye of the storm
Awesome, thanks!
Thanks!
Mourn might also be moor(ing), to anchor or affix in place, but I don't know if moor on its own is proper usage
Damn I thought it was. “For your curse and blessings “ and not “the accursed blessing”
Thank you so much!!!
I love that, even with these more aggressive songs, you're clearly enjoying yourself. Keep singing the songs you wanna, they're awesome!👍
