I find using Workflowy for GTD is perfect. There are some videos dedicated to "How to implement GTD using Workflowy". If the volume of data gets you down, or distracts you from your Today's To Do List, simply click on that one list (To Do Today), and Print it on paper! 🖨 Then just work from that paper copy. 📃 Simple. Not Distracting. Updates so easily tomorrow for your next day's version.
Hi, I think you just saved my butt. THANKS! I was on Workflowy for years, got off it precisely because of the sheer volume of information. Then on to Notion, where that information remained as a stale archive I never go to. Then a combination of Smartsheet and Google Keep. Toying with Trello. Closer. As of yesterday, I installed the Rainbow To-Do List App on my phone. There's nothing to it, only a very very colorful happy-looking list I actually WANT TO go back to and look at. Ultra-simple. And, with your advice, I'm going back to Workflowy now for the brain-dump/archive element of it. That said, I love Smartsheet as the place where I sort of execute my information organization, where random notes become structured plans, book outlines, complex budgets or databases of individual items. So, I think this will be my trifecta - Rainbow To Do for what I do RIGHT NOW, Workflowy for every thought imaginable and Smartsheet for thoughts processed and organized into useful structures.
The STRUGGLE is real. 😂 I am glad to hear you found this video helpful. I am constantly looking for the perfect combination of tools. I am definitely going to have to take a look at Rainbow To-0do. Thanks for the tip.
That was very helpful and I gleaned some good ideas like the 5 categories ??? I will have to watch again to implement. I have been using Trello for quite some time and really like it. I just need to get clear on my actual work flow. Thanks you so much!
You know... I have never been able to get into Trello. I never much liked the Kanban format. That said, Workflowy does have a feature that allows you to turn bullet points into Kanban cards. 🤘
@@ViewfromAboveNet I know what you mean about feeling overwhelmed with everything on your Workflowy. But it's good to close the side bar and just focus on one node that you're working on. 😊
@@ViewfromAboveNet, oh my! You have a background in engineering? I know a few engineers and that is a brain that is geared toward, order, precision (not accurate but precise), and balance. They tend to leave "no stone unturned."
Workflowy for almost everthing, bullet journal for daily to-dos, calendar for commitments
I really like your powerful and persuasive voice. It helped me a lot in choosing a project management tool. thank you.
Thanks so much. Stay tuned today. I have another recommendation for an awesome planning tool. 🌟
The new tool review is live if you're interested 🙂 ua-cam.com/video/ExfPt48O7wY/v-deo.html
I use Workflowy at work and for my personal stuff, my GTD system comprises basically pen and paper and Workflowy .
That's awesome. What's your favorite Workflow feature?

And i uses workflowy and Things3 as my tools
I've never used Things3. Maybe I should give it a look. 🤔
In researching this video this video three alternatives kept coming up: Dynalist, Notion, and Todosit. Which one do you think I should take a look at?
Todoist is great for multiple recurring tasks. I've been using it almost daily for 7+ years.
@@darius-b Thanks. I'll have to take that one out for a test drive. 👍

Did not know there is Drag and Drop
It's incredible handy 😃
As you are a solo-penuer, I would imagine organizing is essential for you.
It is. Thought I stated out studying engineering. So I think it's that analytical mind that craves structure and order.

with that build, i'll probably be doing more mma than workflowy.
Mma? As in mixed material arts?
@@ViewfromAboveNet yah 🙃
