The fact Frost actually honestly convinced Rarran to take Pris Shard is insane. This was supposed to be a "Baby Mode easy waltz to the heart" run, and it got THROWN away and rapidly changed from one relic is insane

Losing the tungsten rod to the blue key was rough, possibly the best relic for the heart.
5:37 physically hurt me. He played Iron Wave talking about how he wanted to get the Dex for Burst Blur, then he bursted Blade Dance and immediately played Blur without attacking to get the dex first.
Rarran was so impressive with so few hours in the game. I imagine he'll be insanely good once he figures out what most of the cards do.
Yeah, while he mostly acted on instinct, he got pretty far compare to most typical players. And suddenly beat A20 on the first attempt with the Silent.
To be fair having twitch chat there to confirm decisions helps a fair bit, still very impressive in that little of time though

Seems like one of the biggest buffs to Rarran's play was having Frost give him the heads up of what to expect from tough fights. Knowing what the enemies will do over the next 2-3 turns, such that you can save resources and prepare accordingly, seemed to make a big difference. Compare that with ONLY dealing with the turn you're facing.
I love the banter between you guys, it's really fun just hearing the two of you talk during this lol

Yeah, although Rarran did learn and got better by remembering what Frost taught him before. It’s wasn’t a full coaching/backseating but that Rarran still made his own decisions.
Either way, getting A20 on the first attempt is mighty impressive.
I think this run was definitely a bit lucky, but you lead him down the line to get to that point, the Elite farming for Relics alone was huge. I've beaten a20 with silent and am close to 20 on all the other characters but I learned so much in the first 10 minutes of the first video alone it's insane, Great videos!
Funny that the Prismatic Shard provided the win conditions in the end with prostrate and special shoutout to ironwave.

Frost, if you're looking for more opportunities to do collab stuff, might I recommend a mod called Together In Spire, it is a mod that allows you to play StS with other people at the same time. A single lobby can have up to I think 11 people at once, I've played it with only a few friends before and it is probably one of my favorite ways to experience StS. There is also a separate "booster pack" mod that adds a bunch of new cards and relics, some new events, and a new elite fight as well. Easily one of my favorite ways to play StS right now and there is apparently even more on the way.
rarran has the most incredible ability to sell a run by slamming cards down like hes making it rain on. does the exact same in HS lmao

Bursting madness when your entire hand is 1 cost seems wrong, doesnt it use the same amount of mana, waste a burst that could be used elsewhere, and make it rng on what you play and less of your choice? Unless it stays zero cost the whole fight but even then I think its the less correct move
It does last the combat, so it's pretty good. Just that turn you get get 2 zero cost cards for spending madness and half the burst effect

Rarran is so frustrating to watch, the fact he still won is a testament to your ability a teacher.
right at the end, frost suggests that if rarran played the mantra he wouldn't hv been able to do lethal with skewer, which is untrue. the heart had 44 hp left and the skewer would have done 19d x 3, which is lethal. frostmath needs to prostrate.

Part of why frost coaching causes such high results is because when was the last time a frost run lasted like 4 hours.
