- An Elden Ring player tries Bloodborne for the first time!
Today I tried playing the hit souls-like game for the very first time, Bloodborne. I have only beaten Elden Ring and Sekiro before. Do I have what it takes to beat one of the most beloved souls games of all time?

You better end up playing the dlc it's godly on so many levels
yeah but also more hellish
Already bought it and will definitely be playing it
@@AmsyarBroskuthat’s what makes it so good tho
@@itsinstinct_6756 exactly, even I don't know wtf i was doing in the hunters nightmare
ds3's dlc is better imo, but both are freakin fantastic! u should try ds3 next spicy, its a freakin fantastic game as are all fromsofts souls games.
Don't forget to find the Cleric Beast, it's an optional boss down the path with two werewolves. It was its scream you heard while climbing the ladder that led you to the first lamp.
I'll be sure to do that first thing in the next video!
@@itsSpicyGaming That's definitely a good idea, otherwise you *will* be over-leveled for it.
and don´t forget to bring some molotows, the cleric beast loves them so much :D ;)
@@greenhydra10overlevel? I dont think he even leveled.
@@brucey5585No level no upgrade and fighting Gascoigne wtf
As a bloodborne fan, I can say that was a beautiful moment when you figured out the parry towards the end.

Agreed!
Two seconds into this video and I can safely say that his character is already a beast
100%
Wtf bro 😅😅😅
Awesome seeing Bloodborne from a new player's perspective, all the reactions, the thoughts, the deaths, figuring things out, the triumphs when you finally get through an area or defeat a boss. Priceless
Did you not play blood borne for the first time?
@@requiem.-.he obviously did but I think he means that he hasn’t felt that way in a while since he’s played it before. If you’ve played it multiple time everything doesn’t really creep you out as much anymore. Unless its Orphan of Kos cause he scares me
he shares them with us. his thoughts, his ambitions.
It brings back those memories from when the game dropped. 15yr and first souls game
This one of this rare situation where the first boss of the playthrough is not a Cleric Beast.
Love when a boss does exactly what its designed to do. Teaching players to stand your ground and stay aggressive like him, to be less passive. Really just such a good first mandatory boss that can set you up for success for future fights. I was honestly expecting you to accidentally back up into the cleric beast fight while fighting the two beasts.
Which is funny when he won the fight by being _less_ aggressive and letting the boss attack to parry him.
Threaded cane's transformed (whip) form is considered a serrated weapon, which means it deals more damage against beast enemies
And it normal form does righteous damage against enemies of the church

Indeed
for your first time playing, you did really great and it was a fun watch. one important thing is to level up your builds. you do this using the doll in hunter’s dream. she wakes up after you gain 1 insight. and i’m glad you figured out the importance of timing your parries. eventually you can get a rune that when equipped lets you gain health when performing visceral attacks. if you do more exploring in central yharnam area like the sewers you can find another weapon as well as new clothes that give you better stats. and while it’s only an optional boss, the cleric beast is a pretty good fight. also when you take damage hit as much as your stamina allows to regain as much health as possible. this game is way more focused on offensive game styles and it encourages you to be more aggressive with your attacks. i’m looking forward to your next video :)) happy hunting!
I left a pretty lengthy comment. I wasn’t impressed with the beginning though coming from someone that literally started this game as your very first souls game. It’s kind of crazy that the basic mechanics you are told to the beginning he overlooked or didn’t even really pay attention. I was able to switch my ex to the long necks and I was waiting for this meant to turn the cane into a whip. Over all I like the guy to he’s funny. Just I thought he’d played souls games this should be cake. Which lead me to why am replying to you but yeah, he hasn’t realize yet that he can regain his health by attacking him and it hurt me every time he used his vials when he could literally regain the whole thing back. By attacking 😢😢😢 but I want to see how he gets into the groove of things 😉😉
I will never tire of watching players try to roll away from gascoigne and hearing the fear the first time he just chases them down
I love souls games as much as the next person, but I’m subbing purely based on this man’s ability to make me laugh. It’s rare that I laugh, but when I do, I subscribe.
Good to know I can make people laugh 🙏
Nice bot comment u got there. Almost watched your video
Honestly I really love your content dude, after getting good at Sekiro myself I love watching people play it and you’re entertaining as hell. Big up the bloodbourne
I'm happy to hear it, thank you 🙌
Remember to use the doll, should it please you
Should it please you ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Gehrman when he completely strips all the personality of one of the strongest hunters for a fucking doll (he was horny)
I just started playing the game, and I was horrified hearing this from the guy!
Sir, welcome to Bloodborne,
It'll be a wonderful experience.
& as a welcoming gift here's a small tip:
Try to backtrack & pay as much attention to detail as possible, this game is a lot like ds1 & metroidvania games in the sense of exploration & game progression, there are a lot of shortcuts to be found & a lot of paths that u need a key item u find later on to unlock; also, try & read the item descriptions as much as possible, a lot of the game story comes from those( unlike sekiro or elden ring which have a more narrated & voiced out story);
I won't spoil anything but for example the boss u just beat, has a side quest & some story which u'll find if u search the area before him well enough.
Anyways, wrote a bit too much, hope u enjoy the game!
Just commenting to boost this up!
I love watching people play Bloodborne for their first time. No other game like this.
I have to say that you got quite quick into the gameplay, actually. I as a souls- and elden player still have a really hard time to adjust to this much quicker and more aggressive style of gameplay. Thumbs up and good luck on your journey through London Souls.
Super funny video, as someone who got the platinum for bloodborne I’m happy to see people trying it out. This game has a big learning curve but the more you play the more you’ll get used to it. I recommend searching for blood stones to level up your gun and cane!
Love this channel. Catching up on all your past vids. This is a great intro to Bloodborne. Looking forward to the whole series.
What a nice little throwback to the first souls game I ever owned. Father Gascoigne to this day remains the hardest souls boss I've fought. First vid from you I saw. Genuinely liked it! Keep em coming!
Genuine excitement when I saw this video posted!
Very selfishly wish you were doing a let’s play just for more content, but totally get that you don’t have infinite time to make UA-cam videos. Whatever Fromsoft content you put out, I’m here for.
Just discovered your channel through your randomized bloodborne video (which was amazing by the way) and am about to binge this playlist. Your music choices are peak - final fantasy and celeste soundtracks alone make it a 10/10 video, on top of funny editing, good commentary, and one of my favorite games?
yay love your videos man. Always so chill and an enjoyable fun time. I hope you're well.
I love this game. The dialogue, the sounds. It’s too perfect. My friend said he hates the sound of the boots when you’re walking/running but it’s my favorite. Nostalgic af, think ima go back to it and finish.
You did really well. Bloodborne was my first Fromsoft and it took me many, many tries to beat Gasciogne as I learned to parry. I think Bloodborne has really good level design in that initial area as it sets the groundwork teaching you everything to expect out of the game. Getting to the first boss is a lesson in how to navigate the whole game
I have spent around 300 hours on Elden Ring and have platinum. Now I am about halfway or past halfway into the Bloodborne story. I have really enjoyed it. Each boss encounter is either easy (somehow managed to beat them first attempt) or excruciatingly hard, and the music is constantly there to keep the player on the edge of their seat as they reach the second/third phase. I cannot wait to sink more hours into Bloodborne and it’s dlc.
Finally, a new video, been looking forward to it🔥
This is my first time experiencing Bloodborne as well! Anyway I love your video, great stuff man!❤
This was really funny to watch I hope you upload a full playthrough
I just love how you took cane for your first playthrough. Welcome to the club pimp!
Remember to use the transforming attack. Press L1 while attacking, rolling, or quickstepping to transform the right-hand weapon while attacking. Big damage
He didn’t read any of the tips I think cuz I was doing all that and this was my first souls game. I read every single note on the floor and explored what I call the training area a whole day. Yes I played 22 hours that’s how much I loved the game it was stupid hard at first cuz I hand only played FPS and button smashing games. This game changed the way I play every game since. In the first day found new suit and weapon took me even longer to pass the first boss not the guy wolf but the actual boss that opens up the world.
@@cesarsain3731 some people just steamroll games without properly trying to understand the game. I also read all the tips in the hub, they were all very usefull. Unfortunatly I did not have ps+ while playing bb so no online notes. They have been so helpful and a fun gimmick in every game that has had them. Small tips, warnings, trickery that you have to learn to decipher.
Bro, this guy doesn't even use R2, do you think he will ever remember to use trick attacks?
I started dying laughing at the character creation "he fits in with the general crowd" 😂
I really appreciate all the little things, like walking up to a random door that looks important, getting lost in the Hunter's Dream, and trying to mix shooting into a melee combo that prove this is actually a blind run. So often "blind" videos just so happen to wind up making all the optimal choices and all looking the same.
I started watching you since your first Sekrio video and you're the most underrated content producer I've ever seen, this is peak entertainemnt
It's awesome and hilarious to see someone new to the game but who has played /other/ similar games. I came into Bloodborne as my first soulsborne and it is seriously cracking me up to compare how the paranoia levels were about the same but the skill and reaction time is NOT. Super fun watch, lost it coughing from you surviving the fall and then the flaming ball only to get smacked right after lol
This is the first of your videos I've ever watched, you made me laugh several times, I love it, new subscriber
a fellow skill player, what a gentleman. cane/whip ftw. good job learning what to do w/ gas-coin. excited to follow your journey. don't spoil anything for yourself. cheers
The struggle of you missclicking health buttons is everything i needed today 😂😂😂
I beat elden ring multiple times and currently still playing through Sekiro. Just picked up a ps for this game I’m super excited to play through it! Also great video man!
its so interesting to see your approach to this game having experienced sekiro and elden ring w/o dark souls
Loved it, exactly the type of content I like ! hope to see more soon, take care of you brother !
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it
bro your amazing every time i feel down i watch your videos and i get happy again
Thanks bro 🙏 glad I can make your day better
Dawg your content makes me happy to wake up in the morning, I also really love BLOODBORNE so happy to see you enjoy it as I did 😂😂
bloodborne was my first game in the fromsoft gauntlet. this is a nostalgic experience. (i also appreciate the BGM choices, namely: resurrections and guardian of the former seas)
You seem to be picking up the combat quirks pretty well, my few tidbits would be:
1.) Explore friggin everywhere, there's literally so much helpful stuff to be found. If not useful or wanted then it can be sold for some ez echoes.
2.) Some weapons charged R2 attack sometimes have a follow up R2, for the most part this is for a specific version of a weapon...not both forms of the weapon. Stamina heavy though of course, so to be used with some caution for sure.
3.) You can also do unique R1 moves after a roll/dodge & unique R1's/R2's after a quickstep (circle button by itself, no direction input). There are also different R1/R2 attacks while sprinting. I'm sure somebody would have mentioned the obvious L1 transforming attacks too (I hope) 😁
4.) If you do pick up any weapon that has a 2-handed mode, just remember in 2-handed mode they'll have an L2 combo too, instead of your usual blam-blam initiator 😉😂 Many people have fallen victim of trying for a parry & then realising what happened after their hunter goes swinging 😅
Congratulations. In the years since bloodbornes release and over 300 hours you are the one to show me the animation for a parried pig for the first time. I have never seen a pig be parried lol
You did great! One thing though: parrying isn't the only way to stagger enemies. If you sneak at the back of the enemy and hold R2, you can stagger it to perform a visceral attack. You can also do it while you're already fighting an enemy if you roll at its back and hold R2, but it's much harder and some bosses can't even be staggered by it
Ahhh one of my favourite games :D I'm looking forward to this!
Hey man. Glad your video blew up. Im a fromsoft noob too. Started with elden ring. Just beat sekiro now im playing bloodborne and also using my ps4 for the first time in ages lol! Also chose the threaded cane. I died a ton in this area at the start.
This games weapon variety revolves around tricks (L1) every weapon has a special knack to it you can mix & match for your play style it’s an absolute blast going through the game and trying new things
Bloodborne was my first souls game and I love it so much, I struggled my ass off at first until I made the effort to learn the game, now I have the platinum trophy for multiple souls games, demon souls is basically done aswell so that would make 5
That was pretty good. Did not expect you to defeat Gascoign that clean there
You did way better than me on my first playthrough of the game. Just keep at it and I’m sure you clean the floor with half the bosses.
As soon as i heard that Sonic Unleashed ost at 5:00
You sir earned my sub.
love watching new people experience this game. Hopefully he finds the shortcut soon ;)
LMAO! Same team club! I played Elden Ring, only because I have always been big into open world games, and found out how awesome it was and how challenging it was. Then I went into a pleasure coma when i found out there were many more that followed the same souls-like format. Ever since then I have been all over games like these. Although Sekiro was admittedly quite different and challenging in its own way. But year, I know ow you feel brother!
I was going to click away because the commentary wasnt doin it for me (not meant as a dis or anything for real). But then the sound bite you used at 10.35, the smack, yell and immediate cutaway? You sir have gotten a new subscriber. Well done.
Love your vids, great fun
This was entertaining and fun to watch 😂👍🏽
One can alternate light attacks with weapon transformation to do like a transicion attack that can come in handy.
And backstabs aren't as simple, you can do a charged heavy attack before doing a backstab, if not you will just light attack the enemy.
Good luck on your first run! I hope you enjoy the game a as a whole.
Man, you actually a god of bloodborne. My first try was sooooooooo bad, I can’t even believe you never played it before. An your videos are so funny too
My favorite game of all time is tied between sekiro and bloodborne, and I loved your sekiro play through and now I’m super stoked that you’re playing bloodborne. Keep up the awesome work!
Sekiro is my favorite FromSoft game. It makes me want a new Tenchu entry so bad.
I too walked into my first Gascione fight by mistake while trying to find a lantern. RIP the 7k echoes I had on me, (I only learned a few days later that the echoes were somewhere on the ground in the boss arena and I could have recovered them).
There were a number of things you missed in Central Yarnham before beating Father G (free armor, weapons, optional boss fight and a few lore bits like talking to his daughter and getting a special item). It’s worth going back even after killing him. (Or making another character and doing it before his fight).
You’re hilarious bro I love it. You’ve earned yourself a gd subscriber sir
I played and beat Bloodborne and DLC without using the gun because I couldn't get the stagger right. Just played the entire time with the two handed trick weapons equipped. It really showed that there are so many ways to "git gud" in this game
There's actually an item you can find to make Father Gascoigne a little easier. Not bad doing it without it. Make sure to visit the hunters dream every once in a while!
What is it?
@@gabri-nl4mq It's a music box that you can get by talking to an NPC in a window. When played it knocks him out of his blood trance for a moment, allowing you to get behind and do a charged back attack. You can only use it so many times during the fight before it stops working.
Still remember my first playthrough (first soulsborne game for me), I too chose the threaded cane. It was rough and a struggle. I promise if you take the time to learn the cane and its whip form, it'll dominate hordes of enemies.
Subbed for the Diebuster music at the end 👍👍
I started replaying Bloodborne again and I still got it. It was my first souls game and its my favorite game to date
Him not using the weapon transformation for so long gives me anxiety lol. The best thing about the cane is the whip and its range, not to mention, trick weapons are one of the biggest draws of this game.
rhis was really fun to watch. Some more bloodborne in my life is never a bad thing. Suscribed.

As a bloodborne veteran i love to see how much he enjoys while exploring, please make a series out of it!!!!
(Or maybe you already have one about bloodborne i haven't checked yet)
You’re doing better than my first time. Took me days to beat that boss and didnt get much further before quitting for like 3 years 😂
It's been years since I played Bloodborne and I've just noticed that the Hunters Dream hub area is surrounded by long tall tree trunks like at the end of Elden Ring and when you're beneath ground in the ancestral section. Also features in opening cinematic for dark souls 1. If anybody knows if this has been spotted before and maybe have a link to a lore video I would be very interested.
Your videos are amazingg man
It's weird.
Watching a new player to Bloodborne makes me reflect on what it was like when I first played it at launch without understanding the mechanics. I wanted to scream at my screen watching you play but quickly remembered the initial struggle.
Fun video, bud.
It's a bloody masterpiece, literally. I still play it to this day.
Nice! Your reflexes from Sekiro should make this game a piece of cake for you.

I have got the platinum for Bloodborne and it was very time-consuming. I don't want to dump a whole essay of how to play so I just have a few tips:
- Guns are basically just used for the parry. It's not a main weapon and you'll often need the bullets, so I suggest conserving them as much as you can. The pistol type is much better (it's faster to shoot and faster to use again if you miss) than the blunderbass type, and later on you can find other guns, but they're all basically a variation of blunderbass or pistol.
- There's a lot of secret areas and things in Bloodborne to explore. There's not any sorcereries or spells like Elden Ring but there are a handful of reusable tools that do spell effects.
- The weapons you get can scale all the way through to the end game. The Hunter Axe is one of the best weapons in the whole game, mainly because when you transform it (like how the cane goes to the whip) and use the charged R2, it sends most enemies flying in a huge arc and it's spamable. It will absolutely carry certain fights if you're really getting stuck so I would prioritize getting that Axe upgraded. It's viable to use as the only weapon if you want to do so.
- Your character in Bloodborne is very nimble, and I would say for most fights, you need to treat them like a Genichiro-style fight where you play super aggressive. There's a few fights throughout where you have to play slower but it's not very frequent.
- There's multiple endings with different boss fights just like Sekiro, but some of the steps for certain endings are very convoluted. Consider going for the other endings when you can look up how to do it.
- The Insight stat makes the game harder because based on how much insight you have, certain enemies have different attacks and patterns. You can lower your insight by letting certain enemies do attacks on you that can steal it.
- The story gets weird and creepier as the game goes on, but it's very unique and interesting. However, it's a much darker tone than Elden Ring (it's a step up from the Frenzied Flame stuff) or Sekiro. Just embrace the weirdness. It's an amazing game that is beloved for a reason.
- There's a 'suspicious' npc that will ruin the main base if you let him come to it. This is a big issue because you can't reverse it, and it's easy to make the mistake because you might invite him thinking it's safe to do so. This NPC will slowly ruin your game with respect to all other NPCs, so if you want to avoid that, I strongly suggest sending him to another area or fighting him.
- Those hunter badges are important, they are basically upgrades to merchant stock and will unlock new weapons for you as well as access to other areas.
- You might notice when you get hit, your HP bar partially changes tone. In Bloodborne, you can actually recover the damage from an attack you receive by landing hits back on the enemy if you do it fast enough. This is one of several reasons why it's good to play aggressive.
Have fun and can't wait to see the next episode.
One addition you can spend insight in the insight shop in the dream for lower insight if you don’t want the changes to the world insight brings and a higher resistance against a certain status effect.
Nice video! you got a lot of challenges ahead of you, but it seems you got the parrying part so you should be good.
The moment the parry started to click is always such a joy! 😂😂
A person of fine taste I see with the sonic music in the background
Love the FF4 airship OST in the background
It's a great ost honestly
You can chain a light attack into a tramsformed attack and it does slightly more damage while also tramsforming your weapon. Really useful, especially as a combo ender
i feel like those chain transformations arent that well designed in alot of weapons, the cain included, its just too slow and doesnt offer that much damage, it does give you back more hp than normal attacks though. i think only a handful of weapons have really good chain transform attacks like the saw cleaver and axe for example(axe still has a pretty bad long range range to short range though), all the heavy weapons have pretty crappy chain transform attacks.

Just found your channel. Subbed and am patiently waiting on the next bloodborne vid cheers!
I did the same thing with Sekiro. Elden was my first Souls game. I then played Bloodborne, but my bf bought me Sekiro and I played it for a while, but I kept messing up the controls, so I just finished Bloodborne today actually, and now I am playing Sekiro. I am so used to the aggressive play style of Bloodborne that I am just sucking at Sekiro right now. It’s funny watching you play Bloodborne so much of what you did is EXACTLY what I did in the beginning.
The DS Mario Kart theme in the background is giving me such nostalgia.
I love all the Mario kart soundtracks!
Bloodborne was my first Soulsborne game. I played it so much I got gud to the point where I would die less than a dozen times each play-through. After playing Elden Ring for the last couple years, and having just beat Armored Core, it was a rougher adjustment going back to play Bloodborne more than I anticipated. The way you dodge and attack in this game is STILL immaculate and my absolute favorite
Standing your ground is a good logic to go by for the rest of the game. More in the 'have no fear' sense, rather than just literally standing though.
Having just started to play the game (yes I am a bit late to the party) this is at the same time extremely hilarious but also very painful! I see a lot of me in this experience 😂
You missed the hoonter of hoonters. Eileen is hidden away in the rafters before dropping down into the sewers. Hang right, roll through the barrels to clear the path. Complete her quest line for her badge to obtain her weapon. Blades of Mercy is super super fun.
You seem better than me and I also started with Elden Ring. I'm currently playing Bloodborne after getting a PS5 for Christmas.
