Phillip's face when you said 'he enriches everyday"!! People never say truely meaningful things like this to the people they love often enough.
Nick is such a brilliant guy. I love the work he does and dedication he has for LaLande and Dan's Chateau!
Hopefully getting compensated well...why are so many of the trades people Brits/ expats? Just curious.
I follow Dan's' channel, Escape to Rural France, and another viewer there ,suggested it would be a nice gesture for the Lalanders to hold another picnic on his grounds, especially to celebrate the 200,000 subscribers he reached this past week! Some new viewers might not know that he singlehandedly built the gorgeous pergola in Lalande's walled garden! Also I really love the music and filming of Nic's working with the trees, speeded up, it was quite exciting. Thank you~
Oh yes that's a great idea! 🦋
To be fair, Amaury did help.
@@rayn8740Also the hidden handyman (pre Kevin).
@@rayn8740 True!
Love this idea. Hope it happens 🙏🙏🙏
I think Dan and Nick are in a class of their own when it comes to hard workers.
And Amaury!
I agree 💯%
I think Phillips love language is “ words of praise”! His face just lights up at any, well deserved, compliment! Such a handsome devil!
Phillip is a delight and a very talented young man. He approaches all that he does with wonderful energy and positivity and he brings a high level of good taste to LaLande.
Nick has done wonders to the woods. Walking through them must be so peaceful.
I've been calling him Chuck, too bad his name isn't Charles (Charlie Brown) "Hey, Stephanie, WoodChuck is here" Or Woody (Toy Story) my niece has nicknames for all of her friends & family that are partial to only her. (She might be dyslexic undiagnosed) She is a lead surgery nurse at the hospital, so it might just be a cute quirk.
The water in the fountain matches the trees well😝
I also miss Dan at your Chateau. I know he is very busy at his own one.
Dan’s chateau is 80 kilometers far from Lalande.
I’m surprised you didn’t just wallpaper straight over it
😂😂
May be she's saving the wallpapering for her 52th birthday?? 😂😂
Haha 😂
I’m saving the wallpaper for your place
@@TheChateauDiaries a dehumidifier in the bread oven room can prevent much of the dampness. Not all.
My basement is no longer a dungeon due to a dehumidifier.
I love videos like this one! It makes me feel like I’m there with you all just watching everyone laughing and tackling their individual projects and responsibilities but still somehow working together for one purpose. It’s great. 😊
Stephanie you did say you would give a quick explanation of the plans for the grand salon and bedrooms for those of us who are not in a position to be patrons. We are interested too.
Yes, sorry! I'll try to remember in the next vlog. But basically, we're planning to replace all of the beams in the grand salon with steels, so that the panelling will not have to move again for future repairs once it's installed.
@@TheChateauDiariesSo no beams will show in the Grand Salon? Will the ceiling be higher?
@@TheChateauDiaries Thank you.
I love Philip's creative and beautiful table settings. So special. Blessings.
Philip is amazing!! So creative and so kind!!
I have her cook book in colour and has the most beautiful floral arrangements 💐🌸
Nick is my hero. He is amazing. His family must be proud.
Marie, herbs with strong scents i.e. Mint plant--peppermint scent; sage; rosemary; lemon balm , chives, catnip, marigold flowers, ;basil; English Lavender, Chrysanthemum, citronella grass, , etc. Place the plants near your windows and doors. Could Plant on ground outside your window andpirs inside by windows
His son is a wonderful person also but isn't following into the arborist life. Like his assistant also.
Listening to Nick talk about the plan for the nature of the château and the entire ecosystem is fascinating.
He looks like someone who loves and respect nature and animals. That's so good to see.
(I'm a big big lover of nature, animals, wildlife, etc. myself and it feels great to see that other people care).
Loved the brief drone shots of the chateau and new gardens, would love to see more! It really helps viewers envision all the ongoing projects and their impact on the grounds.🤗
Lime mortar in between the stones in the bread oven room will look lovely and the walls will breathe.
I'm not a professional but I don't think they need to take off all of the plaster. If it's holding up well it doesn't hurt to leave it up, just blend it together.
@@marshawargo7238 If it's old cement plaster the walls can't breath and causes damp and mould. It needs to be replaced with breathable Lime mortar.
Love the table Philip 👍😊
Isabel is a hoot! She makes life so interesting.
She looks so decidedly French like all the ladies I remember from Paris when I was there as a teen.
Its so great to see Marie laugh so much.
Stephanie, the stewardship by you and everyone who contributes to the fulfillment of your dream is truly amazing. Thank you to all of the talented and passionate people who are helping you on your journey.🙏❤️
Another great episode! 🦋
I'm so glad Stephanie and Dan have found Nick, what a great asset to the team. 🦋
Bread room is going to look great. Love that Marie isn't afraid to take on a new task. Excited to see its transformation. 🦋
Nick the master of the forest is a great asset to La Lande.
Thank you for another enjoyable video.
Greetings from England

Philip and Mummy's relationship is a joy to behold! And I absolutely adore Marie's attitude in wanting to learn new things. She has such a joy for life.
Nick is brilliant. I know nothing about trees. Someone needs to make Marion glacé out of chestnuts. You should make sure Philip photographs each dinner table and each place strings and put together a book. It could be setting, flower arrangements and recipes too. Great idea.
I watch both you & Dan! Both are favorites!
Dan works the hardest in my books. It’s exciting watching him at work, single handedly and he deserves recognition of building the pergola at Lalande.
Amaury helped also and the hidden handyman. Davey added the trees and the Gardeners, Kirsty and Pavlina are doing the plants and grass. It is a team effort. ❤
@@carolinegooder7091hear hear!
So do Nick and Amaury…. They just work quietly without drones or cameras!
The Bread room Redo was so needed …… ❤ see it being given the love of all the La Lalanders ……Maria’s touch & energy = loveliness
Safety! Nick is so knowledgeable. I learn so much from him 🎉
When will Nick start his own UA-cam channel, he’s a living encyclopedia, we should all learn from him.❤
That's an awesome machine for fire wood. Not just splits it but cuts it to lengths? What a labor saver!
Love My Sunday's With you All Stephanie Lalanders. Xx 😘😊
Isabell is simply adorable!
Come on now. 😅 Surely you remember what Dan did in the pantry, removing the old plastering repointing. Rewatch that as a "how-to" video. 😂 Showing your thought process in the picnic menu and the making of everything and the gathering of friends is more like the old chateau diaries. Such fun!
Pavlina and Maria (just been told it was Sabina) in the pointing crew, so they can help pass the skills on also. It may turn into a week's job and Kevin can advice if they do the oven wall, as it leaks smoke and heat.
Yes, exactly, I felt like you did; it felt like the old Château diaries so spontaneous. I thought the same thing too for Philip and Marie with an ie to watch Dan château diaries Re pointing the pantry. 😊
Not to encourage her but "mummy's" theatrics alone are enough to keep me coming back! I am so glad to see you all making progress and enjoying life at the Chateau.😊
The blue table setting with the yellow accents is my favorite ever. So beautifu.
Nick is the Forest Wizard! So knowledgeable and wise!
I love watching Nick work
I love to hear Nick's passion for his work and the environment
I laughed at the melon & sorbet, that green looked Radioactive! What wonderful food for a picnic, so much attention paid to everything as always! ❤
Lovely to see Marie laughing and happy ❤🤗🤗
Must be great having nick there he doing a great job
I could watch Nick moving and cutting that wood etc. all day.
It’s mesmerizing!
Remember when Dan limed the joints in the pantry. That seems the approach for the bread oven.
Another lovely vlog. The 50s picnic looked amazing but my favourite thing in the whole episode was seeing Marie laughing uncontrollably. I know she has has a few depressive issues (as do I) but to see her helpless in laughter was such a gift. La Lande she says is her happy place and it truly is if the hysterical mirth at your blackcurrant leaf sorbet is any guide. Long May her healing last.
Nick is a true magician! He transformed the overgrowth and trees into a manageable and livable space! I could watch him all day! The bread oven room will be so beautiful when they’re done! (No comparison to Dan hanging from beams installing a floor!). I’m looking forward to hearing about the update on the chapel! Lovely to see Marie laughing and feeling at home at LaLande!
Nick is a treasure 💯💯 I always wonder which galaxy he comes from. His knowledge of nature is amazing. I’m a big fan.
LUSH Is the word
The woodland is majestic
Club sandwiches a blast from the past
The weather is so condusive for 2 hammer restoration!
Where there is a will there is a way
Time is of the essence ⚜
He has to be one of the most well-known forestry guys in France by now. I think he ought to open a school.
Wonderful vlog, as always. You are truly amazing, Stephanie.
Mom looks beautiful in her wonderful dress.....
I absolutely loved this episode. Nicks forest expertise, Marie’s enthusiasm. Phillip learning new things and enjoying himself. Maria obsessing over the lack of organization. And all of the lalanders being themselves and contributing to the lovely lunch and dinner.
Ps I don’t know how Maria accomplishes so much each day!!
Maria defining the green as a green out of a (movie) musical shows just how much she likes the colour...
Just love watching Nick work 🤗👍
Love Sue❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
I do too, but I think part of it is the 'Nick Music' that makes it all seem so epic 🤭
Your videos always leave me uplifted & happy, I also love Dan’s little green van, I hope it lives again one day.
The walled garden looks so beautiful 💚🌱
Those two girls are such a treasure! I enjoyed seeing them chip away at the render over the stones.
Boy, a beautiful day gets everyone inspired and in a good mood! I loved every moment of this video. What a happy day.😊
Spray the algae, mold and moss with strait white vinegar until it is dead. Keep a spray bottle around if it returns anywhere. If you keep an acid environment on the stone wall, the less likely the moist loving nasties will return.
I could watch Nick all day long, great worker and really good guy!
Nick is doing a bang up job in the forest! And can I just say that you would be hard pressed to find another Bed and Breakfast with such a splendidly laid table! Between Maria’s food and Phillip’s table setting and Marie and Pavlina’s flower arrangements things have really evolved over the past 5 years! Perhaps using the bread oven more often would help to keep the “green” down. I am looking forward to seeing how Maria transforms it! 🌸🌼🌺
Nic is such a wonderful man, really warming up to the camera. So nice to learn from him.
Your mother is wonderful, just loved her happy dance. Great video, made me smile all the way through.
Everything about this day made me smile. It just looks like such a magical place to live. ❤❤❤
Nick is amazing!🌲🌳
Dan is a master lime plasterer… I’m sure he’ll give you some pointers (if you’ll excuse the pun). I think you have to treat that wall if there is mold.
Wow! So much going on as usual.
Love that you actually use the old cookbooks you have!! That neon green ice was very retro!!
Nick continues to amaze me!! And Philip is so versatile and willing to jump in wherever needed.
Love to you all from Southern California 💗
You are Right🤗🤗 Nik & Dan are Amazing🌿🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴
I love the chopping machine !
Pretty jewel tones on the glassware for the table!
Maria hair stunning like that half up half down
Your mum is lovely
Happy Sunday to all of LaLande family and friends from a beautiful day in Northern California.
Nick is amazing! Loved watching his work and seeing the log splitter so it’s amazing job on firewood. He is the best at revitalization of the forest and at Dan’s place. So much knowledge and love of nature. I love to hear him speak and his vision. The wild flowers, new growth, and returning animals to the grounds is all due to his work.
The picnic looked very nice. Loved the laughter by all.
Glad their will be a new flock of baby chicks.
Philip and Marie working in the bread oven room was fun. Please use lime mortar to renew those beautiful stones and not plaster over if not needed. The room will be healthier for all. Praying the area around the bread oven will be fully fixed so it’s better to use .
The table settings are always gorgeous. Seeing mummy full of spunk and dancing was very much fun and enjoyable. I loved that green color dress she was wearing .
Perfect day and full of smiles.❤❤❤❤❤
Happy Monday morning in Australia.
I love this video. Prettying-up the chateau and woods. Enjoy all the videos but these are my favourites.
The picnic table was so beautiful! If Marie & Phillip need help & Amery is busy, I think they could watch some of Dans videos, when he did the pantry & hall at LaLand 😁
More chickpeas, how wonderful.
Nick’s work at Châteaux Chaumont and Lalande is utterly transformative.
love the table setting and of couse seeing all the hard work Nic is doing- and looking forward to pea-chicks. Best Wishes from Las Vegas
Hi🙋♀️, it’s Ricarda from Portland/Mt. Hood, Oregon. Everyone is looking fabulous. Have a wonderful rest of the day❤
I love seeing your busy days.
Nic is so Amazing, and Davie’s Garden is Superb, You Have An Incredible Team Now At LaLand Wonderful 👌👍👏👏👏👏👏💕💕💕💕💕💕
Isabel is a treasure. You’re so lucky to have your mother
The plaster removal in the pizza oven room has revealed such beautiful stone walls. Instead of replastering, what about leaving the walls as is or just doing some repointing? This was such wonderful vlog!!
It does me good to see Dan’s illustrious Green Machine again. One day, Dan! One day.
Mick does a great job sorting the trees out. I've only just realised you had a tennis court!
Nick is brilliant ❤❤❤
I thought Dan Green van went to the car grave yard...Wow that water was flowing down fast.
Agatha Christie described dining with Queen Elizabeth II who told Agatha and the guests about the night something went wrong in her fireplace and all soot rushed down, covering everyone and everything. Agatha noted that it was a comfort to know that such things happened in even the most exalted households! (Paraphrased, but the story is in Agatha'a excellent and evocative autobiography. Worth looking at if you have not yet read it.) Constance's flower arrangements were amazing. Lots of surviving photos. Rosemary actually wrote the cookbook, they say. Constance put her name on it for sales. She has sometimes been attacked for that, but perhaps that is unfair. It may have just been marketing since Constance was the famous one. I still haven't caught up with the last Patreon video! Thank you for this one!
Another lovely vlog. IsBelle dancing Round the kitchen like tinkerbelle was wonderful. My God, I can barely walk, let alone dance and jump.
That was a lovely picnic you had. Nick's expertise is so valuable for Lalande. Phillip did another lovely table setting. I am sure him and Marie will do well in the bread oven room and learn a new task. Maria, your menu was divine. Everything is presented like art. Lots of love to you all.❤
Lovely, lively and entertaining as always! I look forward every day to my snippet of life at LaLande. I do hope anyone working on Marie's room wear properly serious masks. You can't always see mold and the amount of green growth (moss, algae&mold) on the bottom of some of the walls was alarming! Some molds are terribly toxic. Read up on how to properly treat those lower walls to kill mold spores and leave open to dry out thoroughly before plastering over. Stay healthy!
I still love Nic. He has such a good heart all the way to the roots! (pun intended) His visions for the future are absolutely something that I wish were in all of us. If that had been the way it always was, we wouldn't have a climate crisis. To live in harmony with Mother Earth is something that should be inbred in humans. ❤❤❤❤❤
Nick is a master at his craft and Mummy is a delight to see
The algae and the sorbet are the same color!😲
I learnt to cook from Constance Spry, (the book). It is the most amazing reference if you need to know how to cook things properly. The only irritation is that they use imperial measures when everything is now metric, except in the states. Best shortcrust pastry recipes.Lovely episode!
It is so so good to hear Maria's wonder laugh ringing in the chateau again❤
Love Isobelle’s dress! Tres cute
Isabel's dancing and jumping, let me thinking of the add "She had it all this morning" 😂🤣
Prachtig hoe alles uitgelegd is. En wat is het bos mooi geworden! Kijk de vlogs terug en nu zie je het duidelijk!
I love the vlogs. It’s amazing watching Philip. He was such a young man when he started and now he’s turned into an amazing man and so talented with everything he does. You are so sweet together ❤️
I love the idea that you’re doing the bread room. When you have guests at Lalonde and cannot work on the château itself doing the outbuildings is an ideal thing to keep progress moving and make the property much improved
Dan is doing an amazing job renovating his chateau!
….and what has this comment got to do with this vlog?
@@chrissih4046the name of the vlog is literally called “We can work hard too, Dan”. The comment seems pretty damn relevant to me. Why are you so mad that people are commenting on Dan? Stop policing all the comments. You sound like Caroline Gooder.
Wow loved seeing ur mom in such great spirits … the forest is looking so good … incredible space (the bread oven room) … what a gorgeous table setting
