Nice review! Just picked this up and pretty impressed as well. Definitely looking forward to more Drop influence on Corsair, this is a good start! Plan to put some Baby Kangaroos in mine to give it a little more sound as it's almost too quite.
I got this keyboard to replace my K63 wireless. I took the keycaps from the K63 and stuck them on the K65, the light shines through on the 63s. It would be nice if they make an official set of shine through caps for the K65. My memory is too poor to remember the key combos for the function switching, I need the proper markings. I love this keyboard.
love mine too. great review. i thought wired object an antenna. thanks for explaining. thanks for finding my dongle. i fiddled with that thought button some sort. didn`nt want to break it. thought they not sent me a dongle. nice work by u mate.
I am still not sold on corsair, my last two keyboards from them developed a double click issue on the keys. was a nightmare and I got absolutely no support from them at all. ended up having to go into a chat with amazon support staff and they looked after me in the end.
Being a sucker for brown tactile switches, I guess it will never be silent for me :) Though I would agree Spacebar on my old K70 is the worst offender. With good training you can type without loud clicks, but spacebar will still casually make all the rattling noises when jumping back up.
Hey I just got three of these boards, and now they have now added Device memory mode could you take a look at this and see if it is possible to save stuff directly on the board now?
I did notice your left shift key is different than whats shown on the box. Was that just a different optional lay out that they give you with different keys?
Just had it delivered by Amazon after seeing the reviews. Was going to go Huntsman TKL, but I've had a lot of good experiences with Corsair gear and it was £30 cheaper. Looking forward to giving it a proper go in Overwatch 2 later. Nice vid, cheers
i have mine today, and its sound even better that in the vid, downside is that i will change the keycaps for sure, becasue mostly i use it thru the night
Great review and a really promising board if the price stays as is! Not seen it on any UK retailers yet. I can see a lot of people going for an apex pro etc for the adjustable actuation but coming from an older logitech board this would be ideal for me.
Superb review Mat! I hope that Corsair will tell you what polymer that the feet are made of. They look a bit flimsy. Do they feel sturdy, not to drop out or break where they are attached to?
If any other company made this keyboard, I'd snap it up. Just had too many issues with Corsair products at this point. I'm sure more gaming wireless 75% keyboards with hot-swappable switches will come out from companies I've had less personal issues with.
I have used keyboards for over 30 years and the noise of anyone has never worried me. The problem with this keyboard is in dim environments you cant read the keys..any lighting makes it worse and the writing (letters) is bad . With my lights on its a great keyboard. With see through key-caps it would be the best and getting individual colors for keys is ....well ?????
I bought this keyboard and I would love it if it was supported in icue wirelessly but is not so you’re stuck with it’s disgusting rgb presets and it pisses me off every single day
Yeah, it didn't overly bother me. The dial itself is metal and feels well made. Tolerance and wobble could be better but it didn't strike me as a major issue.
I have an old K95, with brown switches, which I prefer to reds. Rather than a knob, it has a horizontal roller, which I really like. No wobble and it is very quick and easy to use adjust sound volume
TBH i see no reason at all why anyone would buy this over the K75 TKL, except maybe it being wireless. but then again you need a plugged in kable anyway to charge it and the keayboard is stationary anyway so i dont mind having a kable. a wireless mouse you move all the time is a different story.
asus azoth with no screen, more plastic, not quite as good switches, no white option, and they didn't even lube all the stabilizers/switches. im mostly just tired of black keyboards with rgb lighting. a white keyboard would simply show the lighting much better. why would i want to pay extra for rgb then mute it with black. like do i want rgb or stealth. whoever is getting corsair parts arent going for a stealth look. your target audience.. ill just say. so close. ill save my money and buy it when there is a white version for sure and slap some white pudding key caps on and lube the rest of it. no doubt. or hear me out, have it come like that and make it 175 and become a best seller.
The dial itself is metal and feels well made - The tolerance of it fitting on to the board could have been a slight bit better though but it's really not that bad in all honesty - Mat
Thats pretty similar (abit inferior in my opinion) to keychron offerings (v1 max), at only 60$ more expensive to get the corsair logo xD. All in all, not really worth it, still an overpriced 'gamer' tax of 60% more money, corsair disappoints.
listen to this... yeah thats stabilizer ticking right there.. it seems this keyboard needs a lot of modding considering its price that you can get for cheaper and better elsewhere

Sound test at 7:40 is really nice wish my apple keyboard sounded as nice as that!

Hi mat you put a lot of work into this. Great job !
Thanks!
Great review mat. Loved the intro !
Thank you! 😀

Glad I could help
Still find it amazing you can get a keyboard where you can swap out the key mechanisms so easily. Such a good idea.
It's great for switching (pun intended) the feel of your board without having to buy a whole new one :) - Mat
Or if you accidentally spill something sticky on to it like jam or something!
I am still not sold on corsair, my last two keyboards from them developed a double click issue on the keys. was a nightmare and I got absolutely no support from them at all. ended up having to go into a chat with amazon support staff and they looked after me in the end.
might be worth trying as Corsair bought Drop last year. Hence the change in keyboard.
I’ve had mine for years and it’s been ok. Maybe you got unlucky.
Their mouse gives a whole different level of double clicking issues. Only lasts for a few months and expensive as sh*t.
well I was shocked to see a corasir keyboard you liked. well done corsair for appealing to mat - you got there in the end lol
They delivered this time around 100% :) - Mat
good review mat, seems like a good keyboard you (finally) liked !
Thanks! It's one of the nicest keyboards I've reviewed to be honest. The difference between this and previous Corsair boards is massive - Mat
Great.
I'm not into gaming.
I just want a small keyboard that is not very wide and has a nice home/end/pgup and pgnd keypad area!
Being a sucker for brown tactile switches, I guess it will never be silent for me :)

Great to hear!
I kind of prefer a plastic housing as a sometimes lap typer. Metal would be heavier and colder.
i have mine today, and its sound even better that in the vid, downside is that i will change the keycaps for sure, becasue mostly i use it thru the night
What keycaps would be best to switch to as I also use mine thru the night

Thanks Dan!
Superb review Mat! I hope that Corsair will tell you what polymer that the feet are made of. They look a bit flimsy. Do they feel sturdy, not to drop out or break where they are attached to?
Thanks! The feet do feel stable and sturdy. I didn't have any concerns about them - Mat

Hey mat how does this rank as your daily driver now? top of the list or still behind something else.
This is it for now! It's staying on my desk!
The black and gold version looks soo damn good
very asian that ! they love gold and blacks. That said I quite like it myself and I am not asian, so i hav no idea the point I was making now.
Being a Wolves fan I completely agree! :) - Mat
I also guessed from the name it’s a 65%.
Good guess, but I was incorrect
I still think the strix scope 2 with snow switches absolutely kills this board tbh
iCUE is intuitive in the way chocolate cake is bullet proof.
Wouldnt go with wireless keyboard I absolutely despise latency. Would only ever go for the fully wired option I think.
You don’t really notice it with the latest wireless technology.
You can leave it plugged in
@@hothardwareforthewin-he4fz I find even the latest wireless stuff still prone to the occasional disconnect. Which makes me furious.
Corsair need to do a bit of a try before you buy option. Maybe 7 days to have a go before you have to commit?
when will it be supported Icue

brilliant job that one. been a long time since ive seen a keyboard corsair made worth buying.
It's definitely up there as one of the nicest 'off the shelf' boards I've ever reviewed! - Mat
I like icue. It’s why I always buy Corsair. It’s great software.
That’s a surprisingly good keyboard from Corsair.
If only this keyboard was available in white...
0:06 spice bar?
She was a member of the spice girls.
Amazing keyboard😊
Damn, it sure took a long time for consumer grade keyboards to catch up... Better late than never heh?
No shinethru kepcaps!?
Thats really annoying whats the point of having RGB if it doesn't light up the keycap?
I bought this keyboard and I would love it if it was supported in icue wirelessly but is not so you’re stuck with it’s disgusting rgb presets and it pisses me off every single day
Polycarbonate is a type of plastic. Just say plastic. I guess thats not in the Corsair talking points though :D
I do call it plastic at the end of the video 👍- Mat
that wobble on the knob. looks a bit bad, didnt seem to bother you too much, would drive my OCD nuts I think
Yeah, it didn't overly bother me. The dial itself is metal and feels well made. Tolerance and wobble could be better but it didn't strike me as a major issue.

You lost me at "steel plate." Huge miss not going for POM or FR4.

Armory crate. Enough said
@@jaykeem0i would saythe same. I have the scope. 96 now. And armoury is the reason while i return IT. Whot a crap software
That dial is really annoying just had the look of something that's going to be.a broken nub of plastic in the near future.
The dial itself is metal and feels well made - The tolerance of it fitting on to the board could have been a slight bit better though but it's really not that bad in all honesty - Mat
So you dont think it would snap off from the central bit of plastic connecting it to that potentiometer?
@@philipjfry628 Not through normal use no.

Way too expensive for what it is. Never was impressed with anything Corsair. Latest experience with a K70 II RGB was abysmal.
become overprized joke tech..like most stuff. people lost spines..
You not been following gaming PC hardware?
Can we get an English translation of this ?
listen to this... yeah thats stabilizer ticking right there.. it seems this keyboard needs a lot of modding considering its price that you can get for cheaper and better elsewhere
Was meant more as a 'listen to this compared to the last Corsair spacebar I looked at' :) - Mat
