DC Metrorail actions at Metro Center on 8/2/1996. At that time, Rohr 1000 series trains had NYC Subway’s R44/R46 door chimes, while the first pre-rehab Breda 3000 series train on the Red Line had the first generation door chime. All the trains were under the transition of getting the second generation door chime with R44/R46-like door chimes with female voices of “doors opening” and “doors closing”.
