8:00, yep, absolutely right, Greg. It seems like people watched too many wild engine swap videos on UA-cam and now they are expecting those swaps to be wilder. No one wants to hear about how you or anyone else, swaps a sensible engine and transmission into an old car so it actually works and could be used on a daily basis.
@ you waiting on someone to break your record first? It might be awhile before that happens lol. I’ve been a TDI enthusiast since I was 8 when my dad got a TDI Bug. I’m 24 and now I drive that same exact TDI bug. I was stoked to see a TDI take the take the record.
@fweeshboy2500 hell yeah!!! Nice story! Not really waiting for an other diesel to brake the record. It's just a personal goal to keep it up! But 2025 is going to be a wild EV bug. So. It's a small break for me diesel wise but I still work hard on it in the shop
Did you consider to pair ZF 8HP with the stock diesel? Is it at all possible to pair smart gearbox and brainless engine? For me ACL has enough power and torque, but the shifting process is a nightmare.
Sadly the industry took a turn on diesel... as much as I love it we are going with gasoline build! This engine does 40mpg in the jetta so it's as efficient as it can be!
@Syncrogreg It is not the industry, here in germany all things going wrong with politics and the industry has to follow down ...a nightmare. Nevertheless I like your EA288 builds, especially with CUAA engine ...

@Syncrogreg I mean bigger engine have more strength in it, because small engine with such high power is overcharged and overloaded. It will work hard on such heavy car in terrain. 2.0 TSI has 200hp, so 100hp from 1 liter, while 1.4 TSI has 128hp from 1 liter. You may not agree, but time will tell you. I bet, it's not your last conversion... With best wishes though, keep up the good work!

The 8hp is the greatest automatic transmission of this decade
Yes, but this is a transverse 1.4 turbo. It has japanese Aisin 8-speed. Not a ZF 8HP.
@@vvevvevvvv this is an 8HP.
@@pollo.888 Ok. I thought full engine&gearbox combo has been taken from a Jetta.

For sure!!!

Hi! Why not 2.0 ? It's always better to have more reserves with such heavy truck.
@itechnosphere we are already doubling the power, why use any bigger to triple or quadruple the power ? Then brake axles? Then have no brakes?

@itechnosphere not true, the 2.0TSI is 300hp that's 150hp per liter. That makes it even more stressed
