  • For a long time, neuroscientists believed that the neurons you are born with are the neurons you have for the rest of your life, and any neuron lost will not be replaced. Recent research has shown that specific brain regions contain neural stem cells that can generate new neurons. In this talk, Dr Daniel Berg of the University of Aberdeen will discuss what we know about these stem cells and what we can do to activate them to generate more neurons.

    An excerpt from Wikipedia !
    " Serotonin ( 5-HT) is a mono-amine neurotransmitter. It's biological function is complex and multifaceted , modulating mood, cognition , reward , learning, memory and numerous physiological processes such as vomiting and vasoconstriction .
    Biochemically, the indolemine molecule derives from the amino acid
    Tryptophan, via the ( rate - limiting ) hydroxylation of the 5 position on the ring (forming the intermediate
    5 - hydroxytryptophan) , and then decarboxylation to produce serotonin .
    Serotonin is primarily found in the enteric nervous system located in the gastrointestinal tract ( GI tract ) .
    However , It's also produced in the nervous system ( CNS ) , specifically in the Raphe nuclei located in the brain-stem , Merkel cells located in the skin and taste receptor cells in the tongue. Additionally, serotonin is stored in blood platelets and is released during agitation and vasoconstriction, where it then acts as an agonist to other platelets . "
    As above mentioned , serotonin is responsible for positive thoughts and memory consolidation among other things "

    Dr. William Li, author of EAT TO BEAT DISEASE prescribes eating nuts, seeds, Mushrooms and cheese for regeneration of damages cells of stroke patients, like myself (six strokes). I have been cultivating Microbiome for 8 years and followed Dr. Li's prescription for 6 months and have noticed some rudimentary recovery/regeneration of affected cells. I couldn't stand up from a low sofa, but now i can without help.

      @@SharkFishSF Science is not about any absolute truth. It is observations and man made minimal language models which have a predictive role. These models help to manipulate Nature in a way which is beneficial to technology. This is exactly the role of Tissue Engineering. It is based on existing cells and it does not answer questions such as "why", it cannot and it is not its job. Scientists often forget the limits of science and try to answer "why". This is where scientists fail. There are questions which cannot be answered by science and are not even within the jurisdiction of science. For example, the probabilistic degrees of freedom in post synaptic activations in the brain allow at least theoretically for an entity beyond the brain to use these Quantum degrees of freedom to express itself. So yes, a soul can exist, but science cannot prove or refute such a claim and it is not its job. As such, the question of whether a soul exists or not is "not scientific" inasmuch as science will never be able to answer such a question the same way that the axioms of math cannot prove every theorem due to Kurt Godel's incompleteness theorems.

      High fat diet, even without sugar or processed foods, makes negative changes in the gut and brain. This is well documented but not as well known because of the high fat/low carb fad culture. Go look at the research. And that’s not to say that modified keto isn’t therapeutic for dementia - it can be.

    Kinda tired of these science videos where it all goes to exercise, sleep and bla bla. Sorry, but where is the progress? Why I don't hear about something incredible new inventions, or revolutionary products that changed something? 99% of science videos starting from aging and exercise to brain cells all talks about basics; ok, I get it, we all know about that, but can't you show us that your finding lead to some new approach that leads your team to produce an end product that you could put in a pill and NOW PEOPLE CAN REALLY DO SOMETHING WITH IT!!!!

    • @simonestreeter1518
      @simonestreeter1518 9 місяців тому

      If you think taking a pill is really doing something, you have no idea of what it means to live. Sleeping soundly and well and using your body fully IS doing something, because it means you have peace of mind, a clean and content conscience, a solid sense of self and limits, and a lot of joy and curiosity about the world around you. In other words, you now have a life worth living. Without that you might as well stare at screens, degenerate, take your pills and die. What a fool.
