Lovely review. Just bought one if these and I completely agree with your thoughts. I quickly got great coffee taste from this machine and I find the pressure gauge helpful in dialing in the grind. Like you I struggle with the milk but also agree that even if I haven’t got to the latte art stage (yet!!!) the milk tastes so much better than the foam stuff that my old fully automatic machine produced. I love this machine and now that I am retired I have the time to use it and play with it. Let’s be honest, its a great toy for coffee lovers.
Great video. I have the La Specialista and for an entry level machine it's great. Couple of issues in my opinion, you cannot get the grind fine enough but it is compensated with the pressurized brew basket . Other issue I had is if I filled up bean hopper to the top , the grinder would not work, I only fill it half and have had no issues. If you are an extreme perfectionist you will not be happy with this brewer BUT you will have to spend hundreds of dollars on a separate grinder and thousands on a separate brewer and hundreds of hours training. For an all in one home brewer and the prize / simplicity to use it cannot be beat.
If you want a 2-in-1 machine, buy a Breville Barista. Even the Express Impress, second cheapest of the line, is a step up compared to DeLonghi's overpriced Prestigio. You get a similarly subpar grinder (not gonna lie here, both of them spew out clumpy grounds) but with 15 steps of adjustment instead of a measly 8, a similar thermoblock system (called ThermoCoil, it's basically the same thing but a bit more durable), a similar steam wand, and a vastly better integrated tamping system. The Impress tamp measures the distance it travels to check if you have enough coffee in the basket. If there is not enough, the button lights up and you can press to grind a bit more. If there's more than enough, it alerts you to trim with the razor tool. You get all of that good stuffs for about the same amount of freedom dollars. But to be honest, integrated tamping is overrated anyway. Just use needles lol. And spend that extra to get a Barista Pro, or a Bambino with a good grinder.
Don't believe they've brought that model into Singapore yet. I am aware of the Maestro, but I feel the Prestigio sits at a sweet spot for price and features in a home setting.
It has double boiler but 1 pump, so you have to do one or the other at a time. The double heater allows you to quickly make espressos without having to wait for system to cool down. It helps alot and you'll have to steam before pulling shot which ain't bad.
Great review I just bought one based on UA-cam reviews. I can't get this into the optimal zone no matter what I do. even grinding on the finest setting it falls short of getting to that zone. any ideas or tips? I've been through 2 bags already
Hi, How u solve this problem, as mine stil have this issue even after using it for 2 months, with grinding at 1, with prrfact level the pressure gauge hardly reach 9 to 10 oclock and it look so under with no crema at all.
Hi, assuming you have enough beans (at least a quarter full for testing) but you may want to follow the directions for cleaning out the grinder in case something got jammed or misaligned. Then make sure the dose level is not the minimum and no warning lights are on. Video of cleaning: ua-cam.com/video/cKnk-2qzbzs/v-deo.html Good luck.

Well done! I really like your Review and I like your Style . Move one. Greetz from Germany
That face 21:18 when saying "It'd probably give you a few extra cool points - IF YOU HAD FRIENDS" 😅 Nice review, thanks!
I loved this and loved your review. I got mine today and love it but like you, I'm still trying to get the milk right lol
It is key when steaming milk
...not to have it "screaming"
ie get the plunge depth correct
for best results
Hi my grinder has 6 setting and yours 8, whats the difference? My basket are pressurised too😢can i change to non pressurised baskets?
Thanks so much for the information. Still trying to figure it out.

Hi,
Is it possible to dial in for any coffee beans? I heard some coffee beans is unable to get good shot as the grind size is only 8 setting?
Hi, thanks for great video! I'm thinking about buying La Specialista Maestro. Have you ever had a chance to try out that one?
Don't believe they've brought that model into Singapore yet. I am aware of the Maestro, but I feel the Prestigio sits at a sweet spot for price and features in a home setting.
great video ive learn alot from your video
Good video, I thought this system had a dual boiler system though with a separate brew and steam function.

I’m waiting for mine to arrive. I hope I can make decent coffee with it 😂
Does anyone encounter coffee liquid to come out during pre-infusion?
I saw that happen when someone used old pre ground beans and in single basket.
nice review
Thanks! for watching

Grinding level adjust 2 or 3, and perfect doze line (proper doze) is important.
@@dkkim8946 Got it now. thank you for the reply 🙂

Every time I try to grind it doesn’t work! Coffee beans are in…I turn the stick dial to the right but it doesn’t grind! Do you know how to fix this?
