Markus is one of the fastest EWC riders in the Paddock right now, and winner of this year's 24 hours of Spa Francochamps. I met him at a trackevent in Most, in the Czech Republic. He and some other world endurance riders trained there for a race. When he's on his real racebike, and flying by, you think you eventually hit the reverse...... 😂 But he is such a cool and grounded guy, and a master of his craft at the same time. Really cool video CR, loved to watch. Greatings from Germany 😉
As usual, I love the video, your humility, and your ability to critique yourself honestly. If I had one quarter of your skill level, I'd be thrilled. Thanks again.
Brilliant video CR 👍 It's great that most racers appreciate someone doing well and are happy to help. Marcus Reiterberger knows how to ride ! You did well bro 🙂
It’s great to ride with real pros, as you get to really see what they’re doing, and where and how they’re doing it. I’ve been fortunate to have raced with, ride with and learn from some of the best guys in the game. At least with the guys I knew, even the top tier racers are more than happy to stop what they’re doing and and give help and insight. The racing community as a whole is that way. Cool bunch of people at all levels!🤘🏻
I have seen so many road riders thinking they’re pro racers…until it comes to riding the track. It’s a place to keep your ego at home, as it’s only a matter of time before you eat humble pie. I’ve been on track with pro racers when I’ve been riding my personal best laps, and they come by as if I’m stood still. It’s amazing to see it, and often unexpected where they come from, how they pass, and how hard and deep they carry their speed into corners. I’m no slouch when it comes to a trackday, but they’re on a level of their own. Amazing.
You can disassemble your toggle switch and solder its leads to the highbeam flasher. I did this with the Tiger for ride mode selection. You could even keep the toggle hooked up and just tap into the wires to run both.
Really enjoyed the on board footage of the speed triple, sounds awesome 👌. Following Markus Rieterburger was very interesting. I remember being at the world super bike championship at Phillip Island in 2019 I think it was and I saw Mrcus Reiteburger have a massive highside out of the last turn which is really quick. He was pretty shaken up but still had time to give a young boy watching a high 5 before being taken to the medical centre.
Thanks Ben. Sometimes I'd like to pull the pin and go for a lot more lean angle, but then I remember how painful it is to crash, both physically and monetarily. Racers are supposed to find those limits with minimal crashes, my goal is to increase my skills without crashing.🤙
Great video, como siempre. Funny you took a Triumph to what is essentially a Beemer party, 😂. In one of your videos when someone does something sketchy on track I’d like to hear you say “Lucyyyy you’ve got some ‘splainin’ to do!” I think you have the voice and the accent to do a perfect Ricky (sorry if you’ve gotten this request a million times already).
I was there that weekend for the Saturday sessions. I’m not nearly as skilled as you, so we were in different groups. I think your content is great. Keep it up!
Man, I started watching your videos because I was looking at buying a s1000xr (ended up with a s1000rr after 2 other bikes,😂) last year, and you hooked me with your riding…but, you also have a good vibe about you when you speak about your riding or someone else’s riding. So humble. You should be a instructor. I’d sign up for that track day.
Thanks Brian for the kind words!! I'm hoping that in the near future when I'm not as tied down with work, I can apply to become an instructor in one of the local organizations. I'd love to work with new riders and see their times drop as they become more proficient.
Very cool video. Enjoyed your riding aswell as seeing Markus and Thommy riding overseas. Just had a battle in pitbike racing with thommy a few weeks ago ❤
So cool. I was supposed to go to Germany earlier this year and live 2-3 years there for work, but it didn't work out. I would've loved the experience no doubt.
Sigue hombre! Dale caña!! Great vid brother. Did my first track day on my 22 XR at montmelo. Very happy and was 2 seconds off my ducati streetfighters best time. Next time traction control off y pal carajo. Looking real smoothe in all the new vids.
😅 No bro, Dymanic Pro! Haha. Thanks for watching man. I thought I'd be a little faster on the Speed Triple, but without any crash protection, I couldn't afford to push as much as I wanted to.
Fantastic video and I absolutely loved the fist bump from Marcus Reiterberger! It must so awesome to follow such elite racers and learn from them on a GP track! Looking forward to more of these awesome videos! Subbed!
Hey man, any chance you can do some other camera angle where we can see your body etc? Maybe one of those 360 things? Anyway, nice riding! Always a joy to see :)
Thanks Aleksandar. I had an Insta 360 camera, but had issues with the battery door opening during the track day and it would stop recording. The editing was also less than ideal, I had to use their software which I didn't enjoy. I'll try to come up with a solution next time around, I think I've improved my BP a good amount in the past couple track days.
Are you riding the BMW XR here, if you are thats amazing riding against a faster more track oriented bike and i like how you know the line to get the most out of braking, others going to the outside of the track but cant use the speed in the corner and are going the long way round the corner, great riding Cuban, i would love to get round that track with you, keep up the good life bud
HI Cuban rider, fellow XR rider here. Been riding the track for a season now, looking to really improve. How does you body position on the XR? What do you find works best for you?
Nice video! COTA opened up the year I moved out of Texas :( Been back for a bunch of MotoGP events but have not had the chance to ride it yet. BTW, the right side of your rear tire showed uneven wear.
No way! I've been lucky I've been able to ride it for the past 4 years. Not cheap, but definitely worth it every time. And yeah, the right side of the tire got shredded. I ran the recommended pressure, but still got pretty bad. Maybe I should invest in warmers.
@@CubanRider Honestly with how good the new track tires are, I don't think you'll need warmers. I stopped using them a few years ago. I wasn't fast enough to benefit from them. As you get faster and as the track temperature usually rises throughout the track day, it's smart to check and adjust the pressures.

That's flying, you'd be the perfect man to follow to get quicker around the track. Not sure about the CMRA rider of if that bike is going to be his, just something someone said on Facebook.
$400 a day is the cheapest we get, this one was $615 but had a lot less traffic which is something I was looking for to improve my lap times. Not cheap for sure, but this hobby of mine is one of the few things I spend money on.

Hey Derek. Modern nakeds are very competent, I know Yamaha Champions Riding School useS MT-10s with very little modifications and ride them very quickly around the track. In my case, the Triumph already comes with premium suspension and brakes, so it's got a lot more of what I'm able to squeeze at the moment. The worst part of a naked for me, specially at this track, is the lack of wind protection on those long straights; I'm legit gripping the bars and holding at triple speeds specially not having very good seat support. I think with my current skills, I could easily get a stock MT-10 (with tires and brake pads) into the high 2:20s at COTA. That's a pace a lot of experienced track enthusiasts are not able to match with their 200 hp machines.
@@CubanRider Yeah your braking is ridiculous, I've deleted my front ABS which helps n tried a few different pads. N yes wind protection helps for sure, ive removed mine Lol!
