You have to understand it from nintendo's perspective. They're trying to train young women for the business world. They don't want you to do the bare minimum, they don't want to have to tell you. You're punished for not obsessively checking for every toad and one hundred percenting every level for no discernable reason.
Toads can get out of Control, from what I have been Told, Toads can have a Attitude for Games not including them

Jet Force Gemini all over again. Literally the coolest game on the N64 and they did this too it. When I found out it was like growing up a little, realising that the world isn't fair, due to the sins of mankind. Or at least of the Japanese.
The tribals were one thing about that game - the other was the fact that ammo chests were permanently collected - managing ammo for the different weapons was a PITA. I wish there were a way to nope out of collecting ammo chests after knowing what type it was, because I tended to make certain chars favor certain weapons.

Those darn koalas tribals were annoying to save sometimes my cousin would kill them while playing co-op or worse you accidentaly kill them with granades or rocket explosions. lol.
I never collected all of the toads when I was 8, so I made my brother do it so I wouldn’t have to lmao.

I have Super Princess Peach on the 3DS & I’m stuck in a level. She has to run & slide under a plethora of blocks. But… I can’t slide under them so I keep restarting that bleepin’ level. Otherwise, it’s an ok game to play if you’re into the Mario Bros games.

Hm. I don't think I'd mind 100 percenting the game if the puzzles for finding the toads are good enough, but yeah, requiring that for everybody is a mistake. I'm glad to hear the game is good otherwise, though. I'm a fan of Peach's character in the rpgs so I might have to check this out. Maybe, Brittany, you should just watch the ending on youtube, if going through the game again to collect all the toads isn't worth it.

Interesting if true. Never played too much of the classic side scrolling Mario games but the 3D Mario games have pretty lax requirements for “beating” the game. Keeps it kid friendly enough so they can play the final boss and get that sense of accomplishment while leaving plenty to do for those looking to hone their platforming skills and master the game.
I was trying to rush through Yo-kai Watch so I could start Yo-kai Watch 2, and there's doors at the end that don't let you pass unless you: 1) have basically done _everything_ in the game (which I wanted to do for 2 instead) or 2) do a long, annoying sub-dungeon for each door. Got halfway through and just looked up the ending; don't even remember it. Katie Forester best protagonist, no cap.

What's wrong with needing a 100% run through to "beat" the game? I don't consider a game completed unless I complete all of the objectives. It's what gives it a challenge.
Edit: wasn't Super Mario world like that;chocolate world, star world, unlocking the colored yoshi, etc?

I can't tell if this video is satire, lol. I beat the game back when it came out and I don't remember being unable to proceed, so I guess I made sure I got every Toad as I was playing the levels, and I remember it being a really easy and chill game. What's autistic about exploring every part of every level? Isn't that how everyone plays 2D platformers?

To say that the game is difficult would imply that there are boss fights that will kill you unless you have sufficient mastery of the games mechanics or platforming sections that will kill you if you don't move through them with precision. Having to scour every inch of every world isn't difficult, it is just annoying.

It's non-linear and you're obviously not a perfectionist. If I play a Mario game and there's stars or something to collect I collect each at the beginning of the level and only continue when I collect them..also princess peach isn't just for women lol it's to expand on her lore giving her time to shine like that stupid Mario movies coming out

Aren't there video guides for finding all the toads doesn't sound as difficult as Elden Ring or a Souls game 🤔. Still having to find everything to beat the last boss sounds a little bit annoying. So I understand your annoyance with the game in that case don't play the "Super Cat Tales" mobile games. Though I don't believe they require getting every bell in the game to beat them just the later levels are challenging.
