    It's nice to see such high level guys with what seems like novice questions (how to break armlock grip, how to attack from north south etc) but the answer can change depending on how advance you are. This goes to show how many levels jits has, which at the edge you find Nicky ready to strangle you

      This is why is say BJJ is the game of making simple things complex. Not in a bad way, but because they have too. Can anyone do a RNC? Yes But can everyone hand fight properly secure the choke? No

    I'll repeat. B Team should take the skateboarding approach to merch sales. Meaning, each OFFICIAL member of the team would have at least one unique design ( rash guard, t shirt, hats, etc ) and would get percentage of sales from each item sold. All of them should be sitting in a pile of cash from all their fan support. Again, I though that was the reason they split from DDS. Good luck boys and thanks for the content. Helps alot

    • @NikoSeventeen
      @NikoSeventeen 11 місяців тому +1

      Yeah I really like this idea. This kind of incentivizes each team member to devote some time and energy into coming up with ideas for marketing and value creation as well as a strong personal incentive to do better. Doing better will more easily transfer into cashflow for the competitor. Being more entertaining to watch also more easily transfers into cashflow for the competitor.
      This increases the value of being a part of the team (getting to have great exposure from being in a B-Team video), which can incentivize other high level players to want to be a part of the team. So you are diversifying the value of a bjj team past just great partners and instruction.
      I think bjj just suffers in the volume aspect. Not enough fans to drive the sales in huge numbers. That is why they focus on upping the entertainment aspect of the sport. This drives the fan numbers which can easily be converted into sales. Having a ton of sales possibilities is great but not worth much if you don't have enough customers.
      But this idea really helps get more mental energy on the volume problem by incentivizing each member. I think without enough incentive it just becomes like a problem for 'someone else' to think about and they just focus on bjj. In reality this takes a team of people with diverse perspective to develop and polish a viable strategy.
      I would love to think and discuss about this more. Are you interested right here in the comments? I don't mean to hijack your comment or something. I just got excited by your idea.

    • @tequenhoshorts
      @tequenhoshorts 11 місяців тому +2

      @@NikoSeventeen yessir. Usually theres a design department that would do graphics made from inside jokes,social media, persona ( new Nicky Rod ) etc. Plus, it could help them earn some money if they ever get injured. That way they are not just relying on competition money.

    • @NikoSeventeen
      @NikoSeventeen 11 місяців тому

      @@tequenhoshorts yeah I am not sure if its just because I am biased but I am surprised how low budget things can seem for athletes and gyms in bjj despite being the top athletes in the world. I guess olympians are kind of similar. I am not sure how much you know about skateboarding but is it more of an involvement with pop culture that gained a lot of popularity for it?

    • @tequenhoshorts
      @tequenhoshorts 11 місяців тому +1

      @@NikoSeventeen but ins't jiu-jitsu/grappling going that way now ? You've got respected people in pop culture training and showcasing jiu-jitsu in a light besides MMA/UFC (which right now is at its highest ) . It took Skateboarding nearly 50 years to become an Olympic Sport. but it conquered everything else before that

    • @Presence_o_Mind
      @Presence_o_Mind 11 місяців тому +1

      Unless there's a creative team able to think of these kinds of ideas with the input of the athletes, i think it'll end up hindering the guys' ability to focus on their actual jiu jitsu. It could end up being great for some but discouraging for others who aren't so creative, but want to still crush it on the mats. A design/marketing team would alleviate that pressure and allow the guys to continue to do what they do best, while reaping the benefits of having a dedicated squad of pros pushing their content and merchandise.

    What a wonderful way to give back to the fans and the jiu jitsu community. We're always checking in to see what guys like these are up to. Some of us seek to improve our games. Some like watching just to remain tapped in to the art despite not being able to train at the present moment for whatever reasons going on in our lives. But we truly appreciate content like this. We get to learn from elite level grapplers. We get to feel like we're in the class with the up and coming greats. A fly on the wall to see just how guys at this level think, dissect and break things down in order to improve and tighten up an already highly effective game. It helps us begin to change our thinking on how we can approach self improvement in our own styles. Thank you for this video. Oss! ✊🙏
