Craig Jones’ little brother is pretty smart.
The advice was like a gift from Santa Claus.
@@CIRCLEOFTONE Santa Claus?.. you mean Gordan?
Yeah Nicky Jones knows his stuff for sure
He's actually Gordon Ryan's brother!
Nicky Jones probably explains things better than anyone.
Firstly, just ridiculously insightful and valuable content for any bjj practitioner.
Secondly, seeing three such high level guys chat without ego about how they can learn and improve is everything great about the sport. Love this.
Shut up bot
exactly stated
Real
Nicky Ryan is very knowledgeable. Love hearing his break downs
Agreed
100% great questions also
He's lucky to have grown up as Craigs little brother.
Nicky Ryan is slowly evolving into Danaher’s non-evil nemesis
Miyagi?
We need more Nicky Ryan going through positions, techniques, concepts, and everything else Jiu Jitsu please.
Thanks for the video guys
Nicky Ryan is a gem for the BJJ community
It's nice to see such high level guys with what seems like novice questions (how to break armlock grip, how to attack from north south etc) but the answer can change depending on how advance you are. This goes to show how many levels jits has, which at the edge you find Nicky ready to strangle you
This is why is say BJJ is the game of making simple things complex. Not in a bad way, but because they have too. Can anyone do a RNC? Yes But can everyone hand fight properly secure the choke? No
Nothing would please me more than this wise Professor Nicky Ryan one day winning ADCC medal. Hope you are injury free and one day achieve great things Professor Nicky Ryan. And thank you for your knowledge.
Craig Jones' absence from this session clearly indicates a superior level of intellect. What a time to be alive.
I'll repeat. B Team should take the skateboarding approach to merch sales. Meaning, each OFFICIAL member of the team would have at least one unique design ( rash guard, t shirt, hats, etc ) and would get percentage of sales from each item sold. All of them should be sitting in a pile of cash from all their fan support. Again, I though that was the reason they split from DDS. Good luck boys and thanks for the content. Helps alot
Yeah I really like this idea. This kind of incentivizes each team member to devote some time and energy into coming up with ideas for marketing and value creation as well as a strong personal incentive to do better. Doing better will more easily transfer into cashflow for the competitor. Being more entertaining to watch also more easily transfers into cashflow for the competitor.
This increases the value of being a part of the team (getting to have great exposure from being in a B-Team video), which can incentivize other high level players to want to be a part of the team. So you are diversifying the value of a bjj team past just great partners and instruction.
I think bjj just suffers in the volume aspect. Not enough fans to drive the sales in huge numbers. That is why they focus on upping the entertainment aspect of the sport. This drives the fan numbers which can easily be converted into sales. Having a ton of sales possibilities is great but not worth much if you don't have enough customers.
But this idea really helps get more mental energy on the volume problem by incentivizing each member. I think without enough incentive it just becomes like a problem for 'someone else' to think about and they just focus on bjj. In reality this takes a team of people with diverse perspective to develop and polish a viable strategy.
I would love to think and discuss about this more. Are you interested right here in the comments? I don't mean to hijack your comment or something. I just got excited by your idea.
@@NikoSeventeen yessir. Usually theres a design department that would do graphics made from inside jokes, social media, persona ( new Nicky Rod ) etc. Plus, it could help them earn some money if they ever get injured. That way they are not just relying on competition money.
@@tequenhoshorts yeah I am not sure if its just because I am biased but I am surprised how low budget things can seem for athletes and gyms in bjj despite being the top athletes in the world. I guess olympians are kind of similar. I am not sure how much you know about skateboarding but is it more of an involvement with pop culture that gained a lot of popularity for it?
@@NikoSeventeen but ins't jiu-jitsu/grappling going that way now ? You've got respected people in pop culture training and showcasing jiu-jitsu in a light besides MMA/UFC (which right now is at its highest ) . It took Skateboarding nearly 50 years to become an Olympic Sport. but it conquered everything else before that
Unless there's a creative team able to think of these kinds of ideas with the input of the athletes, i think it'll end up hindering the guys' ability to focus on their actual jiu jitsu. It could end up being great for some but discouraging for others who aren't so creative, but want to still crush it on the mats. A design/marketing team would alleviate that pressure and allow the guys to continue to do what they do best, while reaping the benefits of having a dedicated squad of pros pushing their content and merchandise.
This is one of the best B-Team videos I’ve ever seen. This is what learning in grappling is all about; picking apart tournament performances with a professor and learning from your mistakes. Nicky Rod has come a hell of a long way and it’s super impressive to see. More of these types of videos, please!
if i didn't know how old Nicky was, I could believe he's been instructing for 20+ years
Im pretty sure he got a stripe in the womb
Hard to believe Nicky Ryan is only 22. Craig Jones must be super proud of his little brother
Nicky Jones*
has Craig Ryan talked to his other brother?
@@channelsickshis brother was in the Thailand seminar videos
Seeing the best grapplers on the planet being humble and eager to learn is beautiful
I could listen to Nicky Ryan talk jiu-jitsu all day
Love that u guys are breaking down ur matches even if u won
somehow the mic are better on the mat vs the podacast
6 month white belt here. I have to say, watching your guys’ journey in competition and in the training room like this is so so inspiring. Thank you for the thoughtful approach to the art and moving the sport forward at the bleeding edge. We’re all watching with pens and paper drawn and many cheers to your success and growth!!
Well said. 👏
What’s particularly bananas to me is that Nicky and Haisam would both fuck me up so badly that it’s not even funny, but I’ve known this juji recovery for at least 5 years. Knowing and executing are very different critters.
That's the beautiful thing. We can all contribute
This style of q and a problem solving video is absolutely fantastic to watch. Please do many more.
Nicky Ryan teaching is freaking awesome. Do more of these please. I still need some Craig for comedic banter.
This is really good. I love these breakdowns. Thanks and I hope to see more in the future.
Amazing content! Seeing such high level guys put aside ego and address flaws is 1. Very inspiring. And 2. Super useful for learning myself. Thanks so much guys -- love the content!
It isn't just that it's great info, it's that it is so short, quick and concise. Very easy to quickly understand AND implement.
Please create a Playlist named "Technique Talk" so we can go straight to the series! Thanks for an awesome video!
Need more of these Nicky Ryan instructional‘s.
Amazing content. Props to the 3 of you!!
Really appreciated the insightful questions by Nicky Rod and Haisam and the insightful demonstrations and answers from Nicky Ryan. Great stuff.
I just love how they are both so open minded and willing to listen with no ego, wish I had more people like that in my life
More videos like these! Super helpful not only for technique but also understanding how to think about grappling as a whole
Guys, pls do more of the technique videos. Very helpful.
This is hands down one of the best video series from B-Team! Thank you Professor Ryan! If you record these everyday I will tune in! As I was watching, it felt as if I were sitting in on a Private with Professor Nicky! What an amazing privilege! Brilliant work!
Great video! Thanks for the insight and coaching Nicky, and great humility to Nicky Rod and Haisam to ask questions and seek improvement. Good job at fight pass everyone!
This kind of content is really valuable. Thank you
This video makes me want more instructionals by Nicky Ryan. More. MOAR!
I love common jiujitsu-speak, like "does that make sense" and "how do you feel about -----" - I hear and say these things ALL THE TIME. 😂
Gold content! I'm so happy to train in the new era of jiu jitsu. Not long time ago it was almost a crime to talk technique between club and now we have hight level knowledge for all! Thx!!
You are a thoughtful instructor. I'm sure everyone benefits greatly from your presence there. I would go back to training and train with you guys if I lived in TX, wasn't half crippled, and had money to pay you, or I could show you guys my closed guard maybe as a trade. But you are a good instructor. You'll help a lot of people over the course of your life.
More of these this was amazing!
this is amazing content. always hyped to see a new episode!!! hopeful to train w yall one day :D
love this style of content.
Thank y'all
Great stuff guys! In my experience, I like to cross body knee pick to break them down to the hip before locking up the darce! Thanks again for the videos.
More of these please.
Wow! Thanks coach Nicky. Lots of stuff to digest and practice. Can't wait to get down there again.
Brilliant technique breakdown by Nicky!! Thanks guys!
What a wonderful way to give back to the fans and the jiu jitsu community. We're always checking in to see what guys like these are up to. Some of us seek to improve our games. Some like watching just to remain tapped in to the art despite not being able to train at the present moment for whatever reasons going on in our lives. But we truly appreciate content like this. We get to learn from elite level grapplers. We get to feel like we're in the class with the up and coming greats. A fly on the wall to see just how guys at this level think, dissect and break things down in order to improve and tighten up an already highly effective game. It helps us begin to change our thinking on how we can approach self improvement in our own styles. Thank you for this video. Oss! ✊🙏
Guys that was absolutely outstanding! Best part of after class!
Nicky is so articulate and knowledgeable
Just commenting to say I love this format. I love top guys discussing how to improve their technique rather than just showing a lesson.
This kid is a wizard. Bravo Professor Ryan! Truly amazing watching you teach a lecture. Poetry in Motion
Nicky is excellent at explaining things, very smart, methodical and articulate.
this is gold guys!!! awesome analysis and insights!
Great content and Nicky Ryan's break downs on point
more of these types of videos please
Said this once and I’ll say it again, Nicky has a very good voice to listen to while learning and his teachings are just top notch. His understanding of the human body and how to manipulate it is just amazing!!!
Incredible coaching Nicky Ryan!
Loved this.
Brilliant content. Top work lads
Excellent armbar details, took me hours to decipher this info from danahers dvd!
Nicky Jones is an amazing instructor
More content like this please
Nicky troubleshooting sessions is always an instant watch for me.
this is the best video b teams done in a wild imo, i stopped watching most of th uploads, took me a while to click on this one. But glad i did
Wow, excelent content!
Thanks for this one guys.
that's a great spiderweb break. the way nicky rod did it was really great also
Nicky explains things so well!
Super insightful
Best video from B-Team luv the content
More please!
Young Master Ryan, great technique breakdown
a Technique talk playlist would be golden!! Wish i was in Austin instead of Houston.
Many thanks! Great!
Great idea for a Video!
Wow Nicky Jones!! Love to hear you solve problems. Oss brother
Never rolled a single second in my life and still enjoyed the video!
Great content keep it up
the best teacher and a humble one 🙏oss
This is great content
when he was a baby, nicky Ryan fell in a Pot of Instructional potion
I only saw Nicky Ryan getting bullied by Craig Jones, i'm only discovering now how knowledgeable he is. That's impressive.
3/4 Nelson, that’s the lock/breakdown pre Darce.
Nicky Ryan needs to make an instructional
He needs to make a bunch!
he has a few on bjjfanatics, wrestling up and countering leg entanglements with back takes
Nicky bringing the good stuff
thanks nicky
Awesome!!
good one guys
Gordon Ryan's brother is such a good teacher
That's actually Craigs brother! Common misconception
Someone tell Nicky to make more instructionals he explains concepts very well.
This is so dope!
The great part of this is they’re giving it away for free. This only sells me more on any product releases from Nicky. I need to make my way to B-Team
Thanks
Hats off to Nicky R
It is so impressive how successful Nicky rod is while seeming to have a very incomplete knowledge of the game. Obviously no one is an expert but I would bet he knows less about bjj than just about every opponent he’s faced in the last few years and the dude still manages to crush most of them
We need more Professor Nicky Ryan videos.
Nicky should do match/roll analysis like Andrew Wiltse was doing on his channel! It would be sick on this channel!
Nicky Ryan downloaded alot of BJJ knowledge of into that big dome of his hahaha good on yah cxxt!
Nicky Ryan is 21 and he is like already like Yoda. We have young Danaher :) Good stuff!
Nicky Ryan is incredible.
It’s safe to say that Nicky has found his true calling. While he is one of the best competitors worldwide, his teaching skills are just as good, and if not, even better! This guy will have a long career with or without knees.
