I have to say I love this variety!! I grew them for the first time and wow totally AMAZING!! What an awesome flavor! I’m definitely sharing my harvest. I plan to buy more of these seeds and share with my family! Thank you Baker Creek for your wonderful rare seeds!
I am so excited to try this tomato this year! Every year, for 40 years, tomatoes always come out on top! I look forward to this year where I will be growing many many Baker Creek varieties!
I'm raising Brad's Atomic grape and everyone who tried it all believe that it's the best tomato they ever tried, I'm raising 5 plants next season but have to keep my other type down to one or two each so yes in my opinion Brad's Atomic grape is the best, But I will be trying a few new type every season. Hopefully Brad knows how much we love his work. Thanks
I grew these. They were very wimpy when they were little. Once they finally took off they were actually very productive. They are beautiful tomatos and have a good flavor that is very sweet. It is a bit hard to tell when they ripe at first, but you get the hang if it.
Awesome!!! I ordered these a couple weeks ago and was literally just about to plant. Great success rate, too, with all my other Baker Creek seeds. Your farm rocks!!!!
I'm a Brad fan boy. WBF exotics never disappoint and seeds have excellent germination rates. Only ding, they split super easy after rain, but seem to have an ability to self repair if not too mature.
It's my first time growing this one this year and I love it! It's soooo pretty! And very tasty. Normally I don't like tough skin but I don't mind it with this one!
We enjoying it and everyone who I gave a couple to say that's the best tomato they have ever ate. That's the truth in my house. Already have my new package of seeds for next season , plains to have a bigger assortment in my garden about double garage size living in suburbs Most tomatoes I will have only 2 plants each and about 12 slicers .I plan to also have 12 plants for salads ( also plume size) and 4 plants will be Brad's Atomic grape , Honey Gold Hybrid,, Sweet 1,000,000 , Yellow Pear, and Sun Gold Hybrid . Yes is also our vote for, " The Tomato of 2021 is Brad's Atomic grape" by every guest we had here" Great to see this video Seen this tomato first with Nocoil on the TV network video and Roots and Refuge also Mark's Garden Life also my Favorite Gardener Lady "Growfully with Jenna" who's hard work produce such a beautiful flower and productive veggies and also now in her kitchen. Everyone should try this delicious tomato 🍅
I have quit growing cherry tomatoes for the most part and only grow Atomic grape tomatoes. They are the sweetest small tomato I know of and the most beautiful
You should try "Barry's crazy" tomatoes, bred by the same guy who bred atomic grape, Brad Gates. And try "Blush" tomato too, bred by fred hempel. It tastes like heaven😋
I grew about 30 plants. I gave some away and kept four of them. Three have small grape-like black tomatoes in grape-like clusters of 6-10. The other has plum-size in clusters of 3-5. I'm going to check with everyone I gave them to and see how they are growing. So far, no iridescence. Just black. And hard. But they didn't go outside until mid-June and it's been quite cool the past two weeks.
Has anyone got any tips for growing this one hydroponically? I don't have any outdoors space, so I do all my gardening in a spare room I converted into a grow room, and I planted one of these a year ago and managed to get a total of 3 large grape sized tomatoes off it before I gave up on it to make space for something more productive. However, those 3 tomatoes were stunningly beautiful little guys, and they tasted absolutely sublime. So I really want to try them again because they were amazing. Just need some tips on how to get them more productive - I also grew Barry's Crazy Cherries the same way, and those pumped out massive amounts of fruit. Just want more out of the Atomic grape.
I have a few plants growing well from seed I bought from the US. They are currently about 14" high and doing very well in the greenhouse in NE England. I got them on ebay but can't remember the name of the seller unfortunately. I'm currently making a video on the new garden set up for my channel. I've just checked and they were actually from Serbia on ebay - just search and they will come up.
So I've had seedlings that have been exactly 2 and 1/2 inches tall for three weeks now. Do these things EVER grow? My Cherokee Purple was planted at the same time and is almost two feet tall! What am I doing wrong with these little grape tomatoes?
Novice here, help please. How do I know they are ready to harvest? They are getting big, but still rock hard. Does the firmness give any indication of when I should pick them?
xxxc xxxl thanks! I pulled one yesterday that had been growing for weeks- it finally had a little give as opposed to rock hard. It tasted like the sour part of a sour candy. Super picker worthy with no sweet finish. Hoping it was just not ripe yet. I will keep my eye out for the color changes.
I am in zone 8B (Texas); how would these do in my hot summer climate? Also, I am planning to do container gardening; will these do well in containers of 5 gallons or more? Spring 2020 will be my first garden attempt since 2013.
They do do well in your climate, but from customer reports i wouldnt recommend them in containers, the majority consensus in containers is that they end up less colorful and can be quite bland in such a set up :(
I grew this last year in just one container. Fruits grew just as in picture (I wasn't expecting that!). This year I have a few left, will grow in open ground...
Love these tomatoes, but almost EVERY one of my Brad's Atomic Grape have split on the vine before fully ripe and no other varieties were splitting. Also very prone to blossom end rot
@@AngelBabyMama yes dry farming is allowing roots to find watering to concentrate sugars and lower amount of internal water of fruit . Or very seldomly do a deep watering if your in a dry hot area .
Smaller tomatoes seem to grow better in the tropics, would like to introduce a variety of grape/plum tomatoes to the people of Belize, we have a farm there and looking to implement exciting things for the people of Belize, its a very poor nation.
I'm very disappointed with the flavor of the Blueberries cherry tomato. I grew it two years in a row and both times the tomatoes were very bland. Maybe I over watered them. (I didn't buy my seeds from Bakers Creek even though of love this company.) I'm about to send in another order of various varieties of seeds from Baker Creek Seeds. I recommend this company.
I tried this variety two seasons ago. Honestly, this is more of a conversation piece. The plants were wispy and vigorous. The fruit DID crack late season. The fruit color was unremarkable. The texture of the fruit was gritty and flavorless in comparison to the heirloom tomatoes I have been growing. I tried them, but not a fan.
Damn. I was looking for a video of someone who planted the Nuclear Gamma Ray Irradiated “Atomic Seeds” you can buy online. I would love to see that. Nice looking tomatoes though.
I think maybe it's a big seller because of the really misleading photos you show of them. Everybody wants to grow an unusual tomato like this, but I can't find anybody who grows them (other than the people selling the seeds) who show any results like this at all. Also, they never seem to get completely ripe. They stay green on the inside. They stay very hard. And the taste of them isn't really anything remarkable. Although I've had no problem with mine cracking, many other people say it's a big issue for them. I really expected something much more special out of these. It was a big disappointment.
I was about to purchase these from Baker's Creek, but when I started watching the video, changed my mind. This woman's voice is enough to make me want to turn off my computer.

I've been growing them for 3 years now. They are amazing!
Describe the taste if you can, please? I've read too many reviews which describe them as, Meh!

they can be susceptible to overwatering!
do you post to the UK?

yes we do! rareseeds.com

indeterminate! :)

Novice here, help please. How do I know they are ready to harvest? They are getting big, but still rock hard. Does the firmness give any indication of when I should pick them?
Yes, once ripe they will have them give to them and detach easily. unripe tomatoes will be rock hard and stubborn to pick
RareSeeds excellent info, thank you!!!!
When ripe the bottom turns gold/orange

How do you keep early and late blight away? These heirloom tomatoes are horrific for blight.
Be sure to space your plants father away to ensure good airflow and to use a drip irrigation system to keep moisture on the foliage to a minimum.
