Everyone Should Start with Fractional Gold Coins

- One this is certain when it comes to fractional gold. It adds the same way as the full ounce, it just costs more. Gold is the ultimate safe haven, and adding some to your stack is vital. Its something I concentrated on extensively the last two years. Now I can focus on other things that I need to acquire.

Stacking fractional consistently not only adds up but helps motivate one’s stacking seeing that pile of gold build.
It does look good 😊
Fractionals are my favorite to stack…partially because I can add them to my stack quicker vs saving up for the full ounce. Owning fractional gold can help when/if you need to sell in case of an emergency instead of having to sell a full ounce.
When stacking, I wouldn’t advise going below the 1/10th ounce variety, but ultimately, buy what you like and what you can afford…in the end you’ll be happy you own physical gold and silver one way or the other.
Happy stacking, peeps!
Well said caveman!
I have fractional and ounces and try to dollar cost average when I can. For the ones that stack fractional, true the premiums are higher, but as fiat becomes trash, stacking anything is better than paper.
Yes sir!
I agree, plus buying fractional can be motivating. I've bought 1/10 ounce coins but most of them I got private at a way lower premium than a dealer demands. That's about the only time I go lower than a 1/4 ounce. Thanks!
Well said!
1/4 is my favorite, and as it gets more expensive, you’ll find more buyers when it’s time to sell.
I like the frac. I agree. When gold is 3K, it will be far more liquid. Heck, it’s more liquid now.
Sure as hell is!
Although the premiums are high on the 1/10oz eagles they seem to be the crowd favorite at my LCS, he moves them very quickly. I currently have 26 and would like to stack 50 of those little guys for the mint tube 😊.
That’s crazy impressive!
crowds paying high premiums prove Forrest is right: you can't fix stupid
@@DrSchor what are you doing just insulting everyone in the comments?
Fractional also includes gold 20 francs coins. Each contains .1867 troy ozs. Nearly 1/5 troy oz. (Or the .1947 troy oz guilders). Cheaper than buying (2) 1/10 oz gold coins. Remember, the lower the fractional size, the higher the premium. Full ozs cut out a lot of premium. Nice gold coinage, AG !👖's!
That’s right Joey!
Thanks for the tip. I might start buying some of them.
The 20 francs are great.. i just picked up 2 recently
1/4 size is my favorite. mostly modern gold eagles but every once in awhile i splurge on $5 incuse indians. i do get at least one 1/10 age per year but they are so small. easier to see the details on the $10 age and pre 33 half eagles
I know right!
Fractional I think is best. As a prepper stacker smaller denominations of gold for barter. If you buy now and when it is 3k per ounce it will not matter
I agree Bob!
Stack fractionals and trade up when you can.
I fully realize fracs cost more on premium but always remember that precious metals is for LONG term SAVINGS and not an investment. As such, I know we are heading into an economical abyss and prices will rise. In the end and after TIME the premium spent today will moot and absorbed.
Correct!
You have to believe that prices will rise, or will not rise, you can't believe in both.
Since you know PMs are not an investment, then you know prices will not rise relative to what you know is an investment. You cannot also believe in a crash so abysmal that prices will rise enough to make the premium moot.
here in the UK sovs are practically like having cash, everyone knows what they are, very easy to sell and one a month adds up to 2.82 ounces of pure 999 gold, buy halves instead and you still have 1.41 ounce, each country is different but probably works out the same.
Yes sovereigns get no love here from American UA-camrs, but they’re very popular and are never in stock locally. If I lived in the UK, it’s all I would stack along with the Britannia. Britannia are just epic coins btw!
I have both the 2016 merc and slq. I was stacking $2.50 Indians a few years and MAN, have they appreciated!
No doubt!
Stack gold Merc's. Got it! 🔥🚀
🫠
Yeah, the extra premium hurts but seeing my little stack grow keeps me on target and being a “prepper stacker” i kind of justify that the frac could have some benefits in SHTF if I need to get out of dodge
No doubt Sarge!
I rather stack a full ounce of gold to drive the premiums down but I also see the uses of fractional gold. Currently, I'm working on a tube of 1/4 ounce gold coins. The tenth ounce gold is fun to stack and I have a few ounces worth of it but no more. Great video sir!
Oh I’ve seen your handy work and it never disappoints.
I purchase 1/4 oz. Gold, and when I can't then the Gold 1/10 oz., I know there are some ppl who frown on that, but get over it, it's my money, my way. I'm stacking them for the long haul. Thank You Sir.
As long as you’re stacking then you’re winning.
The 1/4 ounce and full ounce makes a lot of sense for discussion but the public buys 1/10 anyways.
They do because we broke 😆
Gold Bank Notes are Great Christmas Gifts.
Love Stacking Fractional Gold.
4 away from finishing my Tube of 20-1/10.
Love the Perth Mint.
1/4’s are my favorite.
17 more of them to go!
The grind continues!
@@SilverBritches Another Great Video Mr. Clean! Looking forward to the Next 👍🏻
I totally appreciate you saying you shouldn't have all 1oz gold coins. Every time I hear some elite stacker say not to stack anything else, I can't help wondering when, not if, he will regret saying that. However, I'm one of those budget stackers that can only afford a 1/4oz per month at the most. I recently (before the spot prices increased last week) bought my first 1/10oz gold coin and I decided that will be my alternative when I can't afford a 1/4oz on any given month.
Alot of people tell me I'm better off stacking silver than 1/10oz gold, but I tell them I have 2 problems with that. First problem is the difference in premiums isn't what they claim. It's very similar and in some cases even 10oz silver bars are a bit higher premium than 1/10oz gold. The other problem I tell them is that I already bought alot of silver (over-extended myself a bit) during the 2022 price dips, so I already have an ample amount of silver for my own needs.
I'm glad to see more stackers warming up to the concept of fractional gold and in some ways, it validates what I've been saying to the elite stackers. Thank you for sharing and keep on stacking. 👍
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it.
If you can't afford the low premiums on a full ounce how can you afford the higher premiums on a 1/4 ounce? Just some patience will improve your net worth?
@@DrSchor My problem is I get bored of a hobby/lifestyle very quickly so if I don't buy a little gold regularly (monthly at minimum) then I'll lose interest and go back to buying crap like porn, booze, cigarettes, etc. I have a spending problem and this ensures I don't throw my money literally in the trash in the end.
why can't you man up and learn to discipline yourself? it is in your own best interest. @@dukenukemani07
Man... I want to stack 1/4 oz eagles consistently to keep the momentum and motivation high but the premium spread difference vs a full ounce has kept me from doing it. Instead I've been trying to save up for the full ounce. Which is harder... If gold continues to increase, I think you'll start to get back your fractional premiums because that will be what people can afford. Great video as always.
I agree Andy. I’m hoping for a pullback personally but I know it’s going up regardless.
Good video. Goldbacks, beautiful, cultural and spiritual meaning packed into every design. They may not be cost effective to stack but they merit collecting a set of each state and each denomination. I also stack fractional gold. One ounce of gold costs less than ten 1/10 ounces of gold but I’d rather have ten 1/10 ounces than zero ounces. In 2022, I was able to pick up 16 tenth oz coins to fill a tube, plus some other gold. In 2023 I’m going to stack 1/4 oz each month with a soft goal of picking up 15 to finish a tube. Made my first 2023 1/4 oz purchase last week but have also picked up a 1/10 oz Kookaburra plus two 50 Goldbacks this month. Nevada and Wyoming. Peace Brother.
Tom that sounds like you’re just finishing goals. I think that’s an excellent strategy.
Lessons learned in depression fractional gold was King why easier to barter
Sure thing!
Love those Perth coins... Gorgeous
Me too!
When you need to sell some you can sell a fractional piece instead of cashing out an entire coin but yea. 1 oz is better.
That’s one of the positives!
you can't sell a fraction of a coin. you always have to sell the entire coin, no matter how small it is.
or maybe you are really johnny depp and have pieces of eight
Your exactly right right about fractional gold I've had 1 ounce eagles in the past and still have some but I only buy quarter's now they just work out better for me.
It feels good getting more in the mail or lcs!
Thank for the vid. U only consider price to purchase gold (cheapest is 1oz), fractional is best to me. Indeed imagine that gold pops to 10k, with a 3k limit for reporting any transaction to fiscal authorities.. where will u be better off? I stack French roster because it will be small enough to avoid any registration of transactions. 🥂 Cheers
There you go 👍🏼
I did the math. For Canadians like me, the best size/weight are in order:
- 1oz ($95+ over spot)
- 10g ($150+)
- 5g ($200+)
- ½ oz ($230+)
- ¼ oz ($270+)
Note:
These calculations are as of Oct 2023 and what's currently available for the lowest prices per 1oz.
Also the worsts are:
- Sovereigns European ($970+ over spot)
- ½⁰ oz ($940+)
- 1g ($760+)
- Sovereigns US ($480+)
- ⅒ oz ($440+)
I bought one of those gold 2016 SLQ’s at a coin show early 2022 for 475 bucks. The guy had 3 of them. By the way you made it sound that was probably a good deal. Thanks for the video.🤠
Oh wow that’s cheap!!!
I've been working on a tube of quarter oz eagles and decided to buy an empty tube for tenth oz eagles so that's something I'll be working on too. I'll be getting gold each month if I can afford it unless I'm making a good size silver order, but I don't have the funds to do both unfortunately. I could use a good side hustle here in NW Washington so I can increase my Stacking speed/weight. Great video man
If you can, move off the west coast. Find a much less expensive area to live in.
Thanks DC!
@@ThatGuy-mu2rr I'm definitely open to do that. It's ridiculously expensive here.
The CML steals the show again. 🤩
Fix the diameter already! Weird Canadians gotta be difficult.
I'm only stackin frac eagles now because that notch triggers my ocd 😆
😆😆😆😆😆
Fractional gold is for everyone! Great points bro
Appreciate it sir!
Good video, I have 6oz of gold with 4oz in fractional so I plan on saving up for 1oz gold coins. I paid off my mortgage but I used most of my emergency savings so it will take a couple months to get back to where I think I should be. Then I will save up for some 1oz gold coins. My monthly expenses are a lot lower without a mortgage.
Congratulations on getting it done!
I'd love to be able to stack 1/4 oz at a time but my budget only allows me to buy the tenth oz but you were also saying that it's coming time when most people won't be able to buy gold tenths make it easier and more affordable to them wouldn't you agree? You sound familiar did you have a different channel name before this one ??

I’m all about those 1/4 Oz eagles
Yup I love ‘em!
Respectfully disagree with the Goldbacks! I do think it's not for everyone, but in the same way some folks purchase more traditional fractional like 1/10oz coins and then trade up to full oz when they have enough to liquidate, you could slowly increase the amount you have saved in goldbacks for the same purpose. The buy/sell spread tends to be incredibly low and they're very liquid
Appreciate the comment and advice 👍🏼
3k gold? Wonder what silver would be at.
The yellow is beautiful nice stack Mr money.
1/10 coins are at 2200 + now makes it tough to buy.
My thoughts exactly
Quarter ounce is smart!!! A Quarter ounce will pay your monthly bills! In the near future
Oh wow.
Great video, nailed it.
Thank you kindly!
They were giving away the $1 notes for free when the Gold Bucks launched. I have one. It's a cool idea.
I subbed because you sound like you would be a good homie.
I love fractional gold, great video!
Me too!
Planning on stacking half oz AGE in 2023.
Seems to be a good compromise between high premiums and having to put out $1900 on a single coin.
Good idea?
Like I said it’s the Goldilocks size in my opinion 👍🏼
obviously not a good idea. you already know you have entered a compromise.
I have 7 one half ouncers. People think I'm wierd lol.
It's common sense to own an ounce rather than a fractional. I purchase fractional when I can even at high premiums, just to get in and hold gold. And fractional ounces are way better than grams, easier to calculate the worth. I think fractionals are awesome.
I agree! I try to avoid European gold for that very purpose.
How can you think fractional are awesome and also state it i common sense to own an ounce rather than a fractional, both statements contradict each other in the same sentence. please clarify.
That's all the gold I stack -- fractional. That's what I can afford. Yes, I know.. There are high premiums for fractional gold but silver premiums are often higher. I think 1/4 is the sweet spot but I sometimes get 2 1/10 ounces when I am short for the month. I also have a good amount of Silver in case that goes up.
There’s nothing wrong stacking fraction. I personally enjoy it because it feels like you have a bunch.
if you cant afford the premium on an once how much less can you afford the higher premium on a smaller coin? Why not be patient and wait to afford the lower premium coin, your net worth will be higher in the end,
@@DrSchor That's a good point. I do intend to purchase some 1 ounce coins in the future, especially if this current precious metals crash continues. However, barring that, I dollar cost average my purchases in gold. I can usually allot about $500-$600/month and that is about what 1/4 of gold costs. I also anticipate the dollar to crash in the future. How far in the future? No one can say for sure. At the time, fractional gold will be worth a lot more than it is today. Selling it, and remaining less conspicuous, if I have reason too, will be easier than 1 ounce of gold. IMHO.
If I can't do the full ounce....my go to is the 1/4 oz AGE! Just those damn premiums, but I am in for the long haul!
Then you’ll do fine.
I just bought a 1/10 brittania 2023 for 201.6 euros, i feel like this is not too much, they buy back for 190.2. What do you think?
Not bad, you just need to hold onto it.
You're thinking VERY! smart
What's ur thoughts on pre 33 gold?
I’m not stacking it, I’d rather put on the weight.
@Clean Money Gold i bought quite a few coins a few years back and im not sure if i should continue to hold them or sell for 999 gold.
It would be great if you could have a consistent thought for more than seven seconds
Some folks just have a hard time comprehending.
A dime will be a thousand dollars

A dime will always be 1/10 of a dollar, by definition.
Stackers university has a gd vid saying premiums add up with silver to so fractional isn't bad no grams tho I say try for one fourths but tenths can b done
I got 20 1gram bars I think I’m selling them soon and exchanging them for a few 1/4 oz

I have a small amount of fractional gold. Mainly because I buy gold for the purpose of saving. I'll spend silver. The premiums on fractional pieces are insane. AMEX gifted me a gold back sealed in a plaque . That will be the only one I'll own.😆
😆😆😂 those premiums are ridiculous!
If you know the premiums of fractional pieces are insane, then how can you believe that buying fractional gold will help you save? please explain. thanks.

I own a small amount of fractional gold because of it's practicality. Mainly purchase ounces for savings.
Noob stacker from Australia. I watched this video and subbed straight away. Your stack is a lot healthier than mine but that's my goal: as much fractional gold in different sizes as I can and I only buy 1 oz silver kangaroo's - the cheapest silver possible - gold the for the larger denominations and silver for the smaller. I saw Robert Kiyosaki's latest tweet today and he thinks there's going to be a big drop ahead for PM'S / BTC.
I appreciate it sir. Take it all in stride.
Back in 2010 I bought collectible 1/10th gold ounce RCM for a huge premium, because I didn't know better. Today the price that I paid them is much lower than buying a bullion 1/10th ounce, lol! Guess the price caught up, or the dollar has lost that much purchasing power.
I’d say the dollar lost value 😆
@@SilverBritches True that!
yea, all the premiums sure do add up XD
I don't like one oz versions because I don't want to have to mail or Sell them directly to a coin shop for wholesale. If you buy fractional bulk you can save. Also fractional one oz bars like the Valcambi or maplegrams. I am an eBay seller. I just don't think I'd be comfortable sending more than a $1000 in the mail. The coin dealer is going to give you behind spot in many cases

Fractional Gold is a terrific waste of money and very foolish, and "starting" with 1 oz. Silver coins is better, so you have smaller value coins if you want/need
to sell/trade smaller dollar amounts, and 90% US Silver coins are very good for "fractional" coins, as there is no additional charge over the Spot premium as
fractional Gold and Silver coins. Buying fractional Gold coins adds hundreds of dollars to the cost of 1 oz. of Gold, compared to buying a 1 oz. coin.
You are correct but not everyone can afford a 2k purchase every month. Holding gold is a long term investment and if gold continues its course as it has the past 30 years well it really doesn’t matter.
I just wish they would cut the premiums on 1/10 and 1/4 oz . I feel that these coins are going to become the regular buy for the regular guy. And the premiums suck
No doubt!
