I believe JBP sees the Bible as Jewish mythology with many existential, social and moral truths to teach us. He does not read the Bible literally and for him to “cross over” would be very unlikely.

Jesus must be clearly defined in order to have eternal security. You cant give away what you dont have. So in the case of JP any denial of Jesus as Almighty God is the anti-christ spirit. True conversion comes through hearing and believing the gospel. Clinging to a social construct that falls under the umbrella of chritianity but is created by man is only catering to your mind but wont regenerate your spirit.

@@goodsoldier JP changed my mind about the Bible. I was new ager, thought it was a horrible story (despite that i did not read it) but JP opened my mind about the Bible and God itself. I understood that I am not a good person and this bothered me alot. I thought to myself - if the God of the Bible is true, then i surely am going to hell. Today, I am saved by Jesus and understand that JP does not teach the Gospel, but I can not deny, that this man changed my mind about the Bible and it was sort of the beginning of journey to repentance.

I pray we all do. I think he just knows deeply enough to understand he doesn't fully believe. I don't believe any of us truly do. If we did wouldn't our ever step be in his name? Saying it doesn't make it so. We need the humility to admit our conviction could be greater. Without it we are simply confessing a conviction to have a conviction that isn't so. Jordan Peterson is a bad faith actor and a subverter
I pray Jordan comes to saving faith. Though he's not saved, one thing I've always admired about Peterson is his poise and self control. He's sat in front of people who have laid into him, and he's remains so calm and responds with the same level of calmness and poise. Doesn't get rattled at all. Many Christians haven't even mastered that, and we have the Spirit to help us, lol.

He's like a Schweitzer or a Bulltmann, erudite and scholarly, with brilliant insight into the ancient scriptures and attempting to make it palatable to a modern mindset. Yet, without faith. For Peterson it is, of course, psychological significance of the biblical stories that matters, and he recognizes the profound wisdom of these ancient traditions.

Others like a workmate who was a very fit guy and Tactical Response Group cop (fitness nuts) collapsed on a morning run and died because he had been training too hard in hot humid conditions over the week and his water intake was high and washed all the Potassium out of his body causing his heart to fail. As a cop I saw plenty of people who left home to go fishing or clubbing or on Vacation and died on the road that day. So do yourself a favor and make a good investigation and make it a priority. I like Jordan Peterson, so I hope no person misinterprets what I'm about to say. But we need to be careful and cautious about who we lend our praise and attention to. JP is extremely intelligent, well-spoken and has a good, relevant grasp on spiritual matters as they relate to our social and political environments. I think he's a great man, from a human standpoint. Saying that, I'm wary of anyone with his level of intellectual, cultural and somewhat religious influence if they cannot stand before humanity and claim Jesus Christ as lord and the only way to salvation. The book of Revelation gives us great reason for that concern. I pray that he finds the evidence he needs, and/or that his heart would be turned to Christ if it is to be. But we are all warned to keep a watchful eye, and it makes more sense now (especially in America) than ever before.
Once Peterson understands the concepts of biblical Mercy & Grace, he will truly get the Christian Gospel. Right now, he is one of those secular thinkers who is loved by Christians the world over because of his honest worldview and rational approach to all things 'psyche'. By his own admission, he is a very agreeable person by nature, so he seeks to understand and be reconciliatory in his search for meaning and Truth. I'd also add, proceed with caution regarding JP's biblical views and/or assessments. I'm usually apprehensive about putting too much weight on a person's perspective that is outside their field of expertise. Maybe JP is approaching the Bible and scripture from a psychological perspective. In that case, he would be qualified. But, if he's giving a philosophical perspective, be cautious. Leave philosophy for philosophers, science for scientist, psychology to psychologists, etc. That's not to say his "philosophical" perspective would be wrong, just that it would be wise to be cautious about his views. Same could be said for anyone speaking outside of their field.
When he debated Matt dillahunty, I think a lot of people lost respect for him afterwards, but I also think, as you said, that he’s just not that good in his philosophy. So people shouldn’t be too judgemental about him in that sense.
Jordan Peterson had a big part in my commitment to God. Even though I’ve been raised with God, I had a lot of doubts and actually denied him and turned away from him. But I’ve been brought back to him, and Professor Peterson’s perspectives have had a lot to do with that.
hmmm i would caution Christians to not treat his videos like sermons or use them to replace hearing from a born-again-believing Christian pastor/elder or Bible study group with that type of leader because Jordan is mainly taking the contents of the Bible from an intellectual perspective considering his psychology background. it is an interesting perspective but if he is not saved he does not have the Holy Spirit so it's important to not replace it for spiritual food.

What I would love to ask Frank if I could is that if a Christian were to plan on having kids, should they still raise their children in the faith or should they let the child decide whether or not to accept it? I’ve heard accounts of people being raised as Christians and then falling away from the faith because it was “shoved down their throat”. And then there are accounts of people who never grew up Christian but find themselves accepting Jesus into their hearts. I just don’t know which way is best. Any advice?

even the woman asking the question misunderstands Jordan’s comments on belief. In his estimation, to believe IS to act as though you believe something. It is much easier to SAY what you believe than to put it into practice. That’s his whole point!
He's a psychologist and very philosophical just like Frank here. I would say he is behaving like a Christian should. He is wrestling with god to find the truth and testing the ideas to make sure they are true, and spreading his findings while further testing them. In doing so he has fortified the understanding and validity of truths from the bible at minimum symbolically and psychologically. He's reviving philosophical thinking in regards to religion. He is more of a believer than a large amount of Christian's. He just understands what it means to believe and accept Christ on a deeper level. He has the humility to admit he has work to do. Where as many self proclaimed Christians claim it with pride and lack the humility to say they could believe more. They sometimes drive people away from Christ through their lack of philosophical thinking. This is a criticism, but not a haughty one. These things must be challenged in order to verify there validity. He has clarified false interpretations and brought deeper conviction to himself and his listeners. It has been said there was only one true Christian and that was Christ. Every step he took spoke conviction. Can we say the same? If not then do you really believe in a absolute manner? This is why I like Frank so much. He's philosophical which isn't common in perhaps most people these days. His humility has led him to a greater conviction then he previously has had. If you question it with everything you have and it stands then you will believe. If not your unconscious will have doubts that you don't realize are there. Gandhi once said I like your Christ, but I do not like your Christian's. I would say Gandhi was more Christian than most of us. That's why Mr.King, a deeply religious Christian, was so fascinated and respectful to Gandhi. Talk is cheap. If we believe we will show it and not proclaim it without the actions to prove it. Jordan Peterson speaks alot of truth. When it comes to the full truth it doesn't matter who says it. It doesn't matter if Saint Paul or Hitler says 2+2 =4, that is the full truth regardless of who says it.. Learned alot from him and its interesting to hear a non Christian biased point of view.
