There was nothing freaky about that place. All the paintings on the walls is obviously newer. Played there as a child in the 70’s.it was a fun safe place for us kids. Used to have a little train that went around the park.
I grew up playing at Mother Goose Land. My grandma and great aunts took me all the time. I loved seeing Humdy Dumpty who sat on a wall. Playing on the tank and fire truck. It was so much fun. Getting ice cream after playing. Great memories
I loved going to Mother Gooseland as a kid and still have some memories of it. My grandma took me there a lot. It's sad that there's not much left of it.
I went there many times as a kid in the early 80's. It wasn't creepy like you describe. In fact, it was a very fun and peaceful place to go. They had an old train and a jet and you could eat lunch there. Seeing this place now is sad.
Don’t know why you’re trying to make this place sound spooky. It’s actually pretty and calming. The spookiest part is people doing drugs inside of Willy lol
I remember playing on the fire truck. A friend of mine owns it .the city sold it for a dollar many years ago .my grandmother lived up the hill from it back in the early 80s .
Obviously, you've never been to the original Mother Gooseland. I visited it many times, as a child. I assure you, it was a very warm, family-friendly place, as the videos and photos on the web will show you. Betty White was the Guest of Honor when it opened! I agree, what they replaced it with is rather freaky. But it's nothing like the original park that once stood there.
It’s sad that you clearly did no research on what the park was before it closed. What is left is nothing. The creepy tower wasn’t painted like that when it was Mother Gooseland. It was probably Rapunzel’s tower with that painted on it. Clearly the city tried to clean it up and repaint. I wish you gave more history and showed what was there instead of making fun of what is there now which was not at all what it was.
Thank you for covering this! I grew up in the area and was never allowed to go there. I also knew none of these facts, but I have seen the whale from afar.
Was much more interesting when the live animals roamed the land and all the nursery rhyme items were intact. I have no proof but in my child's mind I remember stories that sick individuals went in several times and killed the animals. I do not recall the park being open after that.
I live in Canton Ohio and this place is really creepy. There could be a drug addict or a homeless person in mother goose in that big whale or whatever. The place is Erie that's why I stay away from that place
Went there as a child way back when. ALL the paintings you see were NOT there and definitely not a Freddy Meets Jason theme. This place was WONDERFUL growing up! Too bad for you because you would've done a more positive video! Btw, you had many theme parks back then. Including Sea World, Geauga Lake, Kings Island (home of The Bannana Splits show) and our most famous 🌎 renowned Cedar Point. So thx but no thx.
Sadly you got a lot of things wrong and you also dogged the place All of the paint is new not original they used to have tons of displays and attractions
Thanks for your comment! I didn't think the paint was original to 50 years ago, likely some sort of more modern revitalization effort? I would love to have been able to see it back in its heyday unfortunately all i Could show or talk about is what's there now, which isn't really that much. Looks like it was a neat place once upon a time, though, especially judging from lots of peoples comments about their memories there
@@PrinceofTurov1maybe you should have gone to the library or the historical society and asked for old photos or videos. I’m sure there are some probably online by just google search to see what it looked like.
Here is some decent footage from back in the day. I remembered the name, but after watching this video ua-cam.com/video/ADfxEvuJJmw/v-deo.html I remember going there. One of the comments on the video says Betty White was somehow involved with it. A little research says she came to their one-year anniversary in 1958 and did a one-year anniversary ribbon-cutting ceremony.
They wanted to revise it but couldn't keep the sleeping drugs out of Willy the day park full of needles. It's a shame as a child I had lots of fun there.
Can you reupload it but keep your commentary out of it. Seems like your feelings are hurt over Mother Gooseland or something. The creepiest part of this whole video is bro bro yapping.
Oh yes it is wide open in a city park on the banks of a small Creek. There's a parking parking area, But signage is pretty sparse so I recommend using AGPS if you don't already know how to find the place. Also don't think it's safe to go there after dark or alone... not the best part of town. If you go there and make a video, be sure to send me a link so I can see it!
This video seemed very negative, almost like you was trying to give a review on a park that is open for business. After watching this video, I watched a couple from when the park was open, and looked up pictures online. I didn't believe it was anywhere near as creepy as you was trying to insinuate..... Anyway good luck with your videos, have a good day.
I think it was 1968 a friend and I were around 9 years old when we jumped the fence and got caught. A security guard took us to the front where we thought they would call the Police and our Parents but after a good scare and chewing out they let us go back in for what little change we had in our pockets.
Canton Ohio not only had Mother Goose Land but also a zoo, city pools Myers Lake lots of bars and restaurants I miss sadly.
For those of us who enjoyed this place as kids, it sounds a lot like you dogging the place the whole time.

I remember going here as a kid-the whale and the alibaba's cave were my faves!

I wonder where the train and jet were taken?
Back in the day it was a nice place 2 go !

There used to be a full size steam locomotive on display there. And a fighter jet also...Where are they now...?
Wow really? I had no idea.. I'd love to find out where they went
i think the locomotive is somewhere around minerva or malvern in ohio

Think the tube ends were supposed to be smacked by hand to make the noises.
Oh! Next time i'm by there i'm going to give that a try

Back in the day it was fun!
Did they use to have bear you could feed there? i feel like they did, way back in an old memory.
Not sure about that. I did read that there used to be a petting zoo there
I live super close to this place. Much creepier at night 😉 Been there done that, taking pictures for a school project.
How were you able to get so many video shots without homeless drug addicts camped out in the background? That's amazing!
Good old Canton give them time it will become part of the hall of fame
When I was young we rode the train from Alliance to Canton to go to Mother Goose Land
My husband used to play there growing up

My sister got to see it as a kid when it was a theme park I didn't as it closed when I was little
