There are a lot of uaz here in italy, we have an internet forum 'uazitaliaclub', i have some friend that live close to me and we meet very frequently. Every year we organize the national uaz meeting, this year was a tour in tuscany near siena and i did something like 800 km :) crazy people
Man you can buy one , you are not gonna get stuck in the mud but they are loud , the engine is not for high speeds and its old dont forget that , but if you want a tank on the roads this is the right vehicle !
+Justin If you buy one, you will never regret it, but keep in mind that the engine is a consturction from the late 50's, and the fuel consumption is high (aboult 13-18l/km), but it is RUSSIAN! It will never die, you wont have any problems with its reliability, if its maintained properly, but be really careful with the transmission, it really needs maintaining. There is no terrain in the world where it cant go. Just drive it carefully. Keep in mind that this is not a Supra, there is no need for high revs, high speeds, it wasnt designed for that. And last but not least: buy an old one! The older the better! The new (1990s) vehicles were made out of cheap parts, because russia.

which rpm do you have at 80km/h on a flat surfaces i think about buying one but i need to go at least this fast with a car without torturing the engine by high rpm my current car is a lada 21214 (niva) i can go 80km/h with around 2500-2700rpm i think thats ok but my lada has 5 gears not 4 and as far as i know the uaz 469 has 4 gears and less hp

Mine is a 2500 diesel peuget, uaz with gasoline engine drink fuel like russian drink vodka! a 3000 mb engine will be good but better are engine like toyota 3b nissan 2.7 td ecc

Грамотно водит машину. Сначала понижает передачу а потом на тормоза жмет. Молодец. Видимо уже отказывали тормоза.
