Was looking for a recent comment to reply on so thanks! Lol What a line and a sing eh, pure brutal truth delivered in such a great way with the different voices...the man is a #Genius 😍
It's fucking amazing eh? Been looking for recent comments and hardly any but I post this on FB every year cos it's always so relevant on the shitty world situation...sadly lol
He carries the torch of 2pac the lyrical madness of Eminem, just wished Marshall Mathers but with more soul, the intensity of DMX, Truck Turner, ONYX, Big Pun, with the heart and mind 📰📜📚 of Michael Jackson. Basically HE'S THE CHOSEN ONE 🤦🏻♂️
Through listening to this man I have been educated more than I ever have in my entire life I was failed by my parents and I was-flailed by the education system and my judgement was clouded it’s all clear now the human race need to stand together as one and fix this broken word spread love peace and harmony
Didn't teach me anything in School either. Now I'm finishing a Uni course. Self taught everything and learned a lot from Akala's lyrics and recommendations/interviews. Half of it's all bs I've been flattered with people calling me "educated" just cause I've read a few things now. And folk are intimidated cause they spend so much time in school putting you down and drilling into your head you are worthless. Can guarantee more than half of them teaching don't know anything either. They don't think for themselves. Empty vessels got told they where worthless, discarded being able to learn on there own. Copied everything from the textbook. Rewrote it in a exam got a qualification without actually growing or learning anything. You won't find this in your course work so you're likely already more educated than most.
@@firstnamelastname8313 I have just found out that I made a translation for Akala’s song, few papers in my library, then I went to youtube to enjoy the song, and guess what? I found a message from the past. What a small world!
AKALA IS A FUCKING BEAST..Thieves banquet is soo sinister yet true.. Its such a great track that you can just imagine it without closing your eyes.. I digg his work... Maybe one day I will be able to work with em..
i am 47, yesterday my 16 years old son listened this one i said to him this the reality that we try to survive..just speechless AMAZING even if am not listen music like this
Late as hell to this comment section, but there’s so many layers of brilliancy to this song. I especially love the thought put into the order of thieves as to represent the history behind these ideologies. Sure, dictatorship is disgusting, but who was responsible for early forms of dictatorship? Monarchs. But who has historically had control of the monarchs? The Church. But what has controlled all three of these groups? The interests of the economy.
...and to think this song is 7 years old and the last comment was 6 years ago. This song wasn't but WAS ahead of its time. Something Prophetic I would say. Gives me a timeless chill everything I hear it.
The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it - Albert Einstein He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it - Martin Luther King, Jr. Well done to Akala...one of the few voices speaking out against a system of brutality.
Yo this track is MONSTROUS!!! Akala, Lowkey and JaJa these 3 man bring total realness to the mic, but akala is steppin to another level, man is a lyrical beast.
I don't know if they already have but - The Hip Hop Shakespeare Company, if they did this all dressed up as a performance in a theater it would be so amazing.
What an incredible but underheard track. Another underheard artist with incredible message and talent is Disl Automatic. He's got a free mixtape out for download, with another coming this year. Music as good as Thieves Banquet, the dude is a beastly wordsmith. Power to the people!
moodini99 Saw Akala in Bristol his energy was fucking awesome!! The guy clearly loves his fans and his energy was raw! And £14 a ticket yep not a money grabbing prick like most the bands and acts today who charge £30/$30 a ticket. Respect
I would like this to become the national anthem of humanity to open their eyes and wake up. he isn't rapping. He's trying to give out the truth by music. :) From wiz khalifa to akala there is nothing that can take me back to the miserable existence of being blind. thanks bud. good work, I feel you :)
"To my real fans I feel your pain and I get the messages but don't complain that we ain't got more fame for paying our part, They can keep the charts all I want is your hearts" - Akala
Damn this song is amazing. Can't believe I never found it before today. Kinda reminds me of some of Immortal Technique's songs like Dancing with the Devil.
Screw all the technical, name dropping critiques and the like.....this fulla right here gives me hope for the future of rap/MCing/lyrical geniuses - or whatever you wanna call it these days - music in general....even all of mankind really. We need more brothers like this one in this crazy, fucked up world. (excuse the language kiddies) Thank you Akala, from an old skool mama.
Back in the early 2000s I was introduced to Lowkey. From there I did everything I could to learn everything possible about imperialism and how to use my privilege to help. This is one of the songs I always share when people ask "What's the best political, truth you've ever heard"
This has to be my favourite. Draws you right in, speaks volumes of Akala's lyrical genius, and is so incredibly intelligent and socially important, while still remaining completely mesmerising all the way through. Everyone needs to sit the fuck down and listen to this man.
This is truly a masterpiece, it captures the essence of all things going wrong in the world and given how much bullshit is out there, that is a really hard thing to do.
Nothing but respect for akala and his work not just his music but his views on everything In the world very educated man oh and one of the best mathematicians aswell so much more than a musician if he run for prime minister id vote for him
Had never heard of akala in the backwaters that are Australia until i read his interview in the guardian. What he had to say to say was so truthful I had to check out his music. The guy is a lyrical genius!! Hope he tours down here one day!!!
Just heard of Akala. Just saw the documentary on Roots and Reggae. Listening now to different songs. This so far is the most spectacular song I've ever heard. Akala, you great and superb bro. Your message, inspiration, and guidance is so divine. You are a very uplifting brother. Keep up your good works. You could be making more money singing the gangbanging, booty, not get us anywhere music. But you're not doing that. Your dreads look good. Just hope you grow out the mustache sometimes, like real thick. That's what missing. But you kool the way you are.
'Never held a gun or killed anyone myself but billions die cause of me'
That bar is so powerful.
I always get chills
“So Mr. Devil give me the medal don’t be bias if you don’t give it to me I’ll just buy it” oh my goodness what a line
Was looking for a recent comment to reply on so thanks! Lol
What a line and a sing eh, pure brutal truth delivered in such a great way with the different voices...the man is a #Genius 😍
Damn this rap is savagery. It just summarized the entire system in less than 10 minutes
The person who should be elected is Muhammad that false prophet
This is the realest song ever made.
It's fucking amazing eh?
Been looking for recent comments and hardly any but I post this on FB every year cos it's always so relevant on the shitty world situation...sadly lol
this is the best rap song of all time, 2pac was a legend but akala deserves his crown now, monster track, his words are the truth
They are brothers, I'm sure he would agree!
2pac don't come close.
He's like immortal technique man.noth8ng but raw realness
He carries the torch of 2pac the lyrical madness of Eminem, just wished Marshall Mathers but with more soul, the intensity of DMX, Truck Turner, ONYX, Big Pun, with the heart and mind 📰📜📚 of Michael Jackson. Basically HE'S THE CHOSEN ONE 🤦🏻♂️

Flailed by the education system? Brutal, that must've been painful!
:)

So true!
Akala make a video to this. This is timeless.
Someone should make an animation of this song...
I honestly pictured it in my head as a really warped animation.
Vanille Oerba lol
an animation like "I, Pet goat"
Thomas Lubanga ihg8frfkthopppoooppugxdgvj7sgi
There was video displaying fast screenshots and subtitles. Anybody know where it could be found?
Ohh
Spitting fires of undeniable facts and unwavering truth, this performance blazes a trail of unapologetic brilliance, more relevant than ever.
I would love to sit down with Akala and have a deep convo you know and pick his brain, the man is truly remarkable.

I cant believe so few people have heard this legendary song that should be in the history books of literature.
The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it - Albert Einstein

This is indeed fire and true HIP-HOP. He has not disappointed and has definitely made our ancestors proud.

bought this album one of my favourite of 2013
This track is so fing awesome, Should be in everyone's ear.
a true man who doesn't get the fame he deserves and why is that.... O yeah he talks about things that matter not about his life.....
He's richer then most top 100 artists.
He owns everything, from his music to his businesses.
Most top 100 artists are just rentals.
I gues what I wanted to say with that was that, even though he's not mainstream,
He's still rich, like the famous.
+JustAnotherJohn Doe He's not as rich in terms of income but he's rich in the mind.
How do you know that?
konner body Z

Nice. Sounds decent. Yeah, some pop stars charge a fortune. Not that I'd want to see those talentless cunts anyway.
This reminds me of thejuicemedia's Juice Rap News here on UA-cam. That takes courage. Glad to know there are a few musicians with eyes wide open.
I would like this to become the national anthem of humanity to open their eyes and wake up.
he isn't rapping. He's trying to give out the truth by music.
