Thank you for this post Jeff, also thank you for all your aviation videos in general. They really inspired me to pursue my dream of flying. I finally start my Private Pilot lab tomorrow here at my university so I'm really grateful for all the videos that you do.
The blue ignition light- it's because of the starter switch which is a toggle on/off type switch. You mouse over it and see a hand to toggle it on. Once the engine is started you would think that you just mouse over and click the down arrow to turn it off, but it needs to be toggled off, so mouse over until you get the hand again and then click. No more blue warning light!
+Jeff Favignano Glad to hear! I also haven't been able to figure out how to get the ignition light off, sometimes I just flick random buttons and it goes off, but whenever I do that, they are different buttons, so it must a bug if some sort. I wish I knew how to, but I can't help you with that, but I am glad that we can all agree that this is a great airplane!
+Jeff Favignano also, a good real life caravan pilot on UA-cam is one by the name of Steveo1Kinevo or something like such, great guy, you should check it out, he also flys the TBM's and all that good stuff, anyways, just thought I should let you know, have you good night :)
My father flies the Caravan himself he flies for CSA Air which is a freight company they use the FED EX Caravans. Do you think it's possible in the future if you have time you can fly a FED EX Caravan from Mosinee Wisconsin to Minneapolis MN? I would like to show my old man a video like that from X Plane 10. His name is Patrick Mcavinue. I give his name so hopefully you can give a shoutout from one pilot to another. Thanks and keep up with the videos they are awesome and I really enjoy how you role-play realistically.
used to live in miami lakes, and opa locka akrpot approach was jjst above my house, so many beautiful aircrafts and even fighter jets! keep up the awesome vids!
Yes, I was hoping you would fly a Caravan soon! Also, I've started watching Captain Moonbeam, I really enjoy his channel. In one of his videos, I saw him watching one of your LSPDFR's! I think that's awesome that you guys support each other.
hey jeff I want to tell you as a deputy in this area thank you for your support of law enforcement. ive been a sub for a while now and love your LSPDFR videos and your X-Plane videos when I saw fort myers I had to watch it. thanks again and keep up the good work! \
1) The ignition light can be fixed in X-Plane 11. You must press the starter button again, but not "flipping it down". You must click it in the exact same way as when you turn on the starter, then the ignition light will turn off. It's very weird. This annoyed me greatly, so if anyone is having the same problem, this should work, but maybe not for X-Plane 10. 2) When you start the engine, you're supposed to wait until Ng is larger than 12% and stable. It stabilizes around 20% for me (which seems a bit high). Then you SLOWLY set low idle to avoid a hot start. The ITT will rise, you should watch it and make sure that it maxes out lower than 1090 degrees C for no longer than 2 seconds. Happy flying!
This is the airport that a passenger had to land a King Air B200 after his pilot died shortly after takeoff. The passenger was only a single engine Cessna pilot and had no training or knowledge of a King Air. Really amazing flying and control tower audio on UA-cam.
Hey Jeff. Did a bit of googling for you regarding the ignition light. According to a user on the x-plane forums, this plane wasn't made for XP10, so that might be the reason for the error. One user of XP9 found this solution, but I'm not sure if it applies: *When you are turning off the starter, make sure you have the hand icon and not the down arrow when you mouse over the switch. If you use the down arrow, the switch acts like it is moved to the motor position and then springs back to the off position. If you have the hand, it acts as the toggle and returns the starter to the off position and the light will go out.* Had to hand-type this because youtube has disabled copy pasting in to comments c:
+ColaGames Thanks man, this airplane is the latest version from Carenado V3.2. This includes 64 bit support as well as the current version of X-Plane. I don't think it is a matter of it being old. I will give that a try and see what becomes of it.
Yup yup. Carenado and PMDG come to mind with products that do it excellently (on the NGX you can see the pilots adjust themselves like you do after sitting a while). Also, flying the smaller default aircraft the pilots will move when you move the flight controls.
Ignition supposed to be an auto.Only supposed to be on for start. Your supposed to put it in auto right after starting. You don't take off with air conditioner on or bleed air. Supposed to be in flight idle for takeoff. Although I like to taxi in flight idle because using reverse is much more effective. And way more noisy. Love that sound.Oh, you leave the props in feather for start in all Pratt & Whitney engine aircraft. The only take the props out of feather when you're ready to start moving.
It's ok to start with prop lever in full forward. The reason you would use feather is in case you're on ground power or chocks, or anything where ground crew would need to approach the aircraft after an engine start. Feather helps to reduce prop blast and risk of injury to ground crew. During startup, the props feathered anyway due to lack of oil pressure in the prop governor. A few seconds after engine start, oil pressure builds up and they unfeather. You can actually see this in the video. At 6:02 the blades parallel to the direction of flight and after a few seconds, as the engine accelerates past ~45% rpm, they flatten out.
For the IGNITION ON problem: to solve that you have to push the starter switch to turn it off but push it with the "hand" icon instead the arrow icons. This way the ignition on light will shut after start, as it should do in real life. It is a small bug that hasn't been fixed yet I have a caravan startup video where you can see the icon, If you wish I can post the link(don't want to spam) Overall the Caravan is my top favourite GA plane to fly in X-Plane, and Carenado did a great job even with that small bug.
Hey Jeff, could you do a flight in the F-16C released by SkylineGTRFreak? It looks awesome. Anyway, I like that you fly all the weird aircraft, YT is saturated with videos on the PMDG 737's and A320's, but you fly the weird and wonderful. I've suggested it to Froogle twice, I'd love to see you both sharing an aircraft!
+HMSDaring1 I would love to do a flight with him, we have discussed it many times but it is all about schedules :) I pick airplanes I love and I know what you mean.
Hey jeff! Love all the videos!! I just think it would be cool if you did a Tahoe patrol in the Lspdfr series. Maybe the one by the same person who made the charger in the previous vid! Not to make it all about that serious because I love all the vids such as this one!! Thanks man.

+Milan potman You can fly to any airport in the world. He'd have to pick up payware scenery for schipol though if he wanted it to look like the real schipol.
+Jeff Favignano It would be neat if you made this into flight around world series. Start from your home airport and go north west till you call it a quits and land at the nearest airport. The goal would be reach Seattle then go on across Canada to Alaska. Over the Bering Sea to Russia, then go south along the coast to Korea then over the Sea of Japan. After then go China and fly south to South East Asia. Island hop south to Australia and return another way... Till you reach back your home airport. It would give a exciting trip going around the world.
In my opinion, the RTH settings are tailored to any individual person's preferences or according to the region of the world / weather you want to model it as. But I don't know his settings.

I picked this plane up for Christmas, it's been worked a lot! I'm glad to see someone using it!

First plane I ever refueled was a civilian Caravan, went horribly, SPR nozzle wouldn't fricking attach lol, great video as always Jeff
My dad gassed up planes and airliners in 90s, said he'd rather fill up a 727 instead of a caravan lol
Man I really like these. I learn a lot. Keep it up.
Was wondering where x plane went because it's been a while since I've seen an x plane video from you. Awesome job jeff!!
Yes! Finally get an X-Plane video. Thanks Jeff and fly safe. Will you be flying with Captainmoonbeam?
+Michael Van Heemst yes soon hopefully
Love this series. Keep up the great work Jeff!
Oh man I love more X-Plane stuff! You waitin on the IXEG 737 at all Jeff?
Ooh an modern 737 coming out? On xplane? I'll have to drop some bucks.

Well, it's about time you post another flight sim video ;-) (Teasing of course.)

Woooooo X plane is back!! :D
YES< MORE X-plane!
You should take part in a few vatsim group event flights.😃
Jeff, Is there a Earthquake going on. That groud is moving alot
It's just X-Plane yea. It happens when I fly too, it's really annoying.
+Niveous I don't get it
+Jeff Favignano if you look out the window before you take off the ground is all wavy and stuff.
+Jeff Favignano Xplane has this problem when doing ground operations the ground shakes. It's worse on my PC than yours.
+Jeff Favignano if you look at the ground it looks like liquid ground moving around.
I'm curious Jeff, is there any aircraft out there you'd like to mod and fly that you haven't flown yet?
RSW is my home airport - looks great in game! "PrivateStar" is actually "PrivateSky" aviation though :)
Trae I found you on youtube!!!!!!
You got me!
Congrats was here since 18 k subs!👋🏽😝

I knew one person on one of my subscriction videos would say something to do with spelling and/or grammar... :D

He's changed it now
My grandparents live in Naples

I wish you had aviation videos more often.
Yes MD-80 to Atlanta!!!!
Hey, Jeff! In RL I fly out of KNEW in New Orleans - it has a great runway that lines up over the pontchartrain. You should check it out, I think you'd like it.
jeff, missed your x plane videos
Love the video Jeff! It's actually *Myers lol, I live near Fort Myers and people misspell it all the time.
Lol so cool to know that even in a game he is flying to my town in Florida!
Have you thought about doing a live stream playing this?
If only X-Plane had the L-1011... Such a beautiful aircraft.
U need to do more x plane vids their awesome!
fly sometimes from helsinki-vantaa airport to arlanda airport pleeease btw love your vids keep it up
in the next video fly to Denver International Airport, please
Hey Jeff I need help on my Xplane10. I have hp core i7 3770 cou @3.40ghz 12gig ram Nvidia gtx610 1gig dedicated video card yet I can't run xplane? what else should I do?
The Caravan leaves the ignition on for some stages of flight, it's not a dark=nominal cockpit like some airliners.
The ignition on light stays on in FSX as well, using the default Caravan. I don't know if it's supposed to stay on or not.
congratulation pilot, beautiful flight....
I thought the Ft stood for featuring and I was like who is Meyers?
Lol me too.
+Joe Swanson same here
Me too, I thought it was featuring Meyers, Austin Meyer(Creator of x-plane)
i loved this but next can you do a bigger plane
Thx Jeff...can't wait for NGFS....X plane is a nice stop gap from FSX but the user interface is not up to snuff..airports eh! and of course no planes really...JMO
What you said is confusing
+Stuart Savage There's loads of aircraft available for XP.
When I'm using X-10 I only have access to 5 locations. Is that because I'm using the mobile version?
love wat u do jeff
Jeff, did you ever considered to be a pilot. Because you know a lot about planes and you're really good.
+Fedja Louman I hold my Private
Nice
Jeff love the videos im wanting to become a pilot soon so knowing your a pilot I watch to learn lol
Awesome Curtis!
you know, Jeff i would love to see a video of you flying a cessna 208 amphibian unless floats arnt your thing
x-plane 10 models water takeoff and landing terribly. Maybe in XP11 I am hoping
Can you fly to Amsterdam (Schiphol) in this game? If you can please do!

Awesome Video Jeff.
What airplane bug is Jeff talking about in 22:32? Couldn't catch it. Did someone figure it out?
Jeff how do u know so much can u fly a plane if not u think in a case of emergency u can ???
+steakjake does he? didn't know about that.
More X-Plane please!
Jeff, how do you know all of this stuff?

How neat the couple times I've actually flown in a GA aircraft I've flown out of kopf
+Vitto Marque very nice! I love the Miami area.
would love to see a flight video out of PVD
