As someone who usually mains the medic role in FPS games the asshole medics annoy me even more. Most of the time it's not an issue to heal/ revive another player short of running up against a zerg, armored unit or they got taken out by a cheeki sniper.

@@connorwalsh7033 if a bio warfare occurs and it'll spread very fast, none of these shots would help, these weapons are potent and getting exposed to small amount would cause lots of reactions on the body. would need advanced medical assistance to survive, if you can reach it fast that is. tho we do carry some meds to reduce the symptoms.

That's about literally what happened to me in a game. A medic overdosed me on morphine causing a cardiac arrest. He had to follow up with multiple blood bags to dillute the morphine, an epinephrine shot and a third player furiously working to pack wounds and performing heart massage. Yeah... the ACE mod for Arma is really something else.
NGL I want to see ZF play extensively with this mod, just to see how badly they screw it all up. Or how much morphine Soviet can pack into Cyanide again before he OD's. Good stuff. Who knows, they might OD their server and fatally crash like the Petros incident lol

Escape from Tarkov stims give you stuff like tremors, tunnel vision, shaking hands. they can fuck you up in your next fight but if that means surviving the current one its something you gotta take
I think in Fallout you could become addicted to Stimpacks (don't think it was a thing in every game). Stimpacks are one of the more common ways of healing the character.
Kane & Lynch actually did this, if you goes down too many time in short time span, the adrenaline that the teammate use to bring you up can kill you via overdose.
While not an FPS, Barotrauma does this to great affect. You can even use some medications during a fight to enhance some things, like meth to increase speed slightly. Drawbacks tend to be that you just injected yourself with meth and may now die.
Its so funny how valve reused the adrenaline from L4D, that the survivors correctly inject into the thigh, while in cs they made so the operatives inject into their chest and do not get a heart attack
It was the normal delivery route in the 60s and they stopped using it mainly because it was safer, easier, and just as effective to inject it elsewhere. The primary issue associated with this delivery method was heart trauma and bleeding around the heart, which could build up and cause restriction.
I’m reminded of that one SovietWomble Bullshittery episode where Soviet was a medic with access to morphine and was basically trying to kill Cynide by OD’ing him. 😅

Now there are 2 possibilities 1. He got knocked out as soon as he was shot, but still got all the morphine after he got evac, and they completed the mission 2. He got all the morphine on the field, passes out, gets evac, and when they finished the mission, they picked up the spent syringes on the way back

I feel like you could make a game where healing actively hurts the character you are playing.
Barotrauma does this. Morphine and opiates are used to help internal injuries, but can easily kill if your medic is inexperienced.
