Plump, thanks for this short tour of the Narrows. Loved the overlooks, we don't have stuff like that in South Jersey, just the remnants of glacial deserts.
Great video stemming from untainted motivation and seemingly effortless unabashed stream of consciousness commentary. The what you see is what you get approach is as refreshing as ever, made perfect when presented literally in nature. Thanks Plump.
Hiking in the woods alone with a first-person camera just before Halloween. This is like the setup to a thriller/horror film. The only feature out of place was it being daytime rather than nighttime. However, I knew this wasn't the case because that just wouldn't be Plump's style.
Plump... a hiker? I didn't expect this! Mountains of NC and TN are my stomping ground plump... its got the same sort of look as the place you're in the video, but much much higher cliffs and ledges!
Thanks for sharing, Plump. I was ignorant to the spider-filled beauty of the show-me state before today. Didn't realize the rain hit you hard too. I can personally confirm that Colorado did get hosed. I got lucky myself though. Like many others, I will tell you that my region is easy on the eyes. I'll have to bring my camcorder next time I go to Estes Park, Saint Mary's Glacier, Georgetown or the Royal Gorge.
Swordfight in a trollforest? You good sir, are brilliant. I usualy go on a hike two-three times a month this time of the year, i´m in search of a new area outside of Swedens/ Norways borders to go on the next holliday.
I enjoy some good hikes through the forest here in eastern Canada. Loads of...trees, and...stuff. Okay, I don't make a good argument, but I find it quite nice. I've never seen any huge rock formations like the ones on this trail though, that's pretty interesting. Gah, you've got me missing the forests of my home town now. It's so nice to just be able to wander off away from the chaos of civilization once in a while. Just relax with the generic forest mushrooms and the spider webs. =)
Woah, such cool wildlands where you hiked :). It's really cool to see the real nature of US for me. It's similar to Russian forest, yet the geology is different (where I live it's totally flat) and all the little details like mushrooms I've never seen add the diversity to the picture. Thank you for the experience!
It doesn't look like I can add clickable links as annotations, unless there's something I'm missing. Thought it was possible for some reason. You can still find them on Flickr like always.
As far as I know, there is no such thing as "not poisonous spider". The real question is if the fangs are able to penetrate the skin and how strong the venom is. Great vid btw. Love hiking.
Ah, not quite enough time this morning for the full video. I'll be back for the last 10 minutes, mark my words! Also liberty caps, one of the more common magic mushrooms, are pretty easy to spot, but you just missed the season. They start to pop up start of october (or just before the blackberries, that may be more accurate).
This really was a great video. It's not the medium of your commentary that matters, just the commentary itself. Perfect video, except for the spiders. I could never live by so many webs.
Damn, I never knew plump was a fellow Missourian. I really enjoyed this vid. I know you're a pretty private person, but I wouldn't be opposed to more vlog type videos.
I've been to Oregon a few times and if my family wasn't rooted here it would be one of the first states I'd consider moving to, Washington would be second.
"...the forest here in eastern Canada..." It should be noted that this is a typo, and there is, in fact, more than one forest in all of eastern Canada.
That's really beautiful, back here in Finland the nature is kinda similar, the countryside's just a lot more flat. Just some small hills and lots of forests. How cold does it get during winter over there?
Plump, do Morel mushrooms grow where you live? I live in Northern Missouri and every year my family and I go hunting for morels. If they do grow where you live you should make a mushroom hunting video sometime next year.
"A jump that could probably kill you. If it didn't kill you, you would probably spend the rest of your life wishing it would of." Wow Plump, way to get morbid really quick. Lol.
Hey Plump, recently came from Denver to Springfield, so I was wondering if you'd do any videos around the area, there's some pretty sweet abandoned areas and some nice valleys south towards Nixa/Ozark. Haven't ever been to Branson myself, and I've only driven straight to St. Louis, so I might have to see what's going on in the middle of the state sometime.
Today... was a bad day to be an arachnophobe. This place is the kind of place that I would start walking through, but end up sprinting off the edge of some hill or rock formation, screaming about the spiders in my hair. Beautiful place though, if you can look past the potential eight-legged menacing bastards.

Hey Plump, I'm lovin hiking from your perspective!
Wow Plump, this was wonderful.
Really affirming your channel here, once again.
Loved just to listen to the crunching from your feet.
Lonely dwarf in the woods, talking to himself.
Also, enjoy the mosquitos!
Nice video man, brings back memories of when I used to hike like this.

Thank you for your videos Plump
Thank you for the videos, Plump. Please make more hiking videos.

Thanks for the vid Plump, was fun.
I love the Ozarks too, although I've always been further south, in Arkansas.
Awesome vid and location, Plump

I wish there were places like this around me

It would be awesome if you came to Canada, there are so many places you can go hiking and such...
1:38 In another month or so! Man the trees here area already almost bare!
I'm sure we'd love to have ya here in Sweden ^^ Anyway good stuf!
Pretty neat! And you should come up here to Canada, it can be pretty cool up here, although I've only been in BC.
I'll be sure to make it a stretch goal if I ever do a Kickstarter for something.
Beautiful, trollforests are something that make me jealous. I just want to have a massive swordfight in one for some reason.
This was really interesting. Keep it up, man.

Great vid btw. Love hiking.
It's strangely surreal hearing your voice matched to reality.
plenty of hiking in Oregon if you feel like moving west!
Wow, that is near Ft Lost in the Woods where I went to basic.
Greatt video, if a little disconcerting when it looked like Silent Hill at the start!
Ah, not quite enough time this morning for the full video. I'll be back for the last 10 minutes, mark my words!

I womder what plump looks like
Turns out switching to a fancy vaporizer cigar / cigarette helps the lungs!

Generally only if I'm camping. I don't ever make plans to just go fishing.
03:28 - Poor lil' withered plump helmet.
Liberty caps should be in season (at least up here). Probably won't find those around there though.
Right now only 8gb, plan to upgrade it eventually but other things take priority to this hobby.

Someday, when I'm not living paycheck to paycheck and can afford to travel around a bit.
Plump, do Morel mushrooms grow where you live? I live in Northern Missouri and every year my family and I go hunting for morels. If they do grow where you live you should make a mushroom hunting video sometime next year.
There's a link on my channel header where you can take the initiative and get one for me!
I'll keep that in mind but St.Louis and KC are two of my most hated places in the entire state.
"A jump that could probably kill you. If it didn't kill you, you would probably spend the rest of your life wishing it would of."
Wow Plump, way to get morbid really quick. Lol.
They're will be more but expect delays.
Maybe, looks kind of interesting.

The next places I'm looking at going to are Eureka Springs, Elephant Rock and some random places in the Mark Twain National Forest.
It also wouldn't be my cameras style, need one with night vision or something...think of the possibilities...
They do grow here but I can't stand the taste of them. I've heard that you can sell them for a decent chunk of change though.
Just avoid the ones that lay eggs in your ears and you'll be fine.
How could... why... why would you...
I have a fairly hard time remembering things, did plump say that he was not showing his face or anything personal(like his house) to us?
Jesus Christ.
Did you record it with a handheld camera?
I want to see your beautiful face, Plump.
If Scandinavia is of interest to you then go to google pictures and paste "västergötland natur". My lovely county with trollforests of plenty

Thankfully they were mostly dead by the filming of this hike.
hey plump get a gopro
Hey Plump maybe trevolta dot com is something for you
Mmm, well, capitalism...
