Great news on the chart placements! I finally managed to get a vinyl copy of Happy New Year last Christmas after years of it being sold out ( released in different colours every year) so really treasure this!❤
Little things is a great song, that beautifully describes the relationship of husband and wife and that between parents and children. The Family is the building-block for a stable society and worldpeace. 🥰 but the most sophisticated thing is, that they didn’ t make a video of these lyrics…… but extra focused on how to get children back from passively looking at their mobiles to being creative again, trying out news things and feeling the excitement of it to be proud of your own great accomplishments!! ABBA, you have such big, big hearts of love!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I'm kinda sick of fans whinging about releases recently. Many of them weren't even born when ABBA closed their chapter so for us orginals it's a joy just to get anything from them! No one is forced to buy anything but I so wish their comments could be made more tactfully. In the UK, the horrendous social media complaining actually then makes the press. Then it becomes a truth that doesn't actually reflect a reality. It's exactly this that The 50 years project didn’t work well in the charts. The press essentially were saying don't buy it! So the general public didn't. Everyone has an opinion and that should be celebrated. I just don't think they are expressed particularly constructively sometimes. I'm just joyous ABBA are still in the charts. Little Things is very interesting listening if you rethink what it also implies. A. Grandma still likes a healthy sex life and wants the kids occupied. B. What if Grandma is actually a ghost? ❤❤❤

I absolutely adore the Song. The melody sounds so simple and familiar its so cosy and almost a Bit classical in its approach. But i especially love the vocals. For me its Song on the Album on which they Sound the freshest and „youngest“ the Most Like its 1983. they Sound so light and relaxed. Especially Fridas vocals Are superbe and Sound different from for instance Bumblebee. I think its a masterpiece and i Hope that it will find its way to Radio and will eventually become a christmas classic.
Just looked at UK physical singles chart for this week 13/12/24. Yes Little Things has dropped BUT you didn't mention that Happy New Year was on chart as well at same time - that' too surely is an achievement to have two singles on same chart. Seasons Greetings to you BB.
Justice for "Little Things"! It's a Christmas song, people. It's supposed to be a little twee and sappy. If I have to tolerate hearing "Christmas Shoes" on the radio every year you can tolerate this one 😊
Before seeing your comment, I'd never heard of Christmas Shoes.... but yeah, I'm glad that's a U.S thing - I wouldn't want to hear that too often. 😂 I don't actually mind 99% of the Christmas music that gets played on UK radio - except Mariah Carey's All I want for Christmas - I will quite happily go the rest of my life without hearing that again.
I think both HNY and LT are released in very limited copies esp.HNY.I recall one year the copies of HNY had already been sold out( from pre-orders) even before the released date.Sadly it's streamings that count the most, but Vynils and physical sales are a special category with other values. Btw you nearly got a punky hairdo for us today B'sb,isn't it?lol.
It’s those on eBay, they buy all the copies and then pump up the price to double. Genuine fans find them all sold out and have to resort to buying from these eBay sellers. This is coming common practice now. A lot of venders limit to 2-3 copies now but it’s still happening and the eBay sellers get round it.
Even though I’m a massive ABBA fan (they still snuck in at no.1 artist on my 2024 Spotify wrapped try as I might to listen to hundreds of others), I think very little of Little Things. You can’t compare vinyl sales now to when that was the only way to buy a single. Well, you did, but…
I didn’t compare vinyl sales to back then. Apart from that, the fact is, ABBA’s vinyl sales from today are simply measured with the vinyl sales of others, and the result is the charting position we have.
The single release of "Little Things"was another missed opportunity. It would have made sense to issue the video version of the song which has an extra interlude, but no... The"Happy New Year" single was announced by Universal "to come with a Special Poster für the first time ever", that was later reported as mistake. So the actual edition has no picture of ABBA at all. The "50th Anniversary" was one of the most dissapointing ABBA anniversaries in terms of releases, so this boring plaint white disc is perfectly in line with the whole anniversary year 😂🤣
I’m a little disappointed with little things, I’ve always wanted an ABBA Christmas song, but it felt kinda lacking, and the video is not really anything to write home about. However, Agnetha and Frida’s incredible third voice vocals in it save it for me, although I wish they left out the children’s choir. Regardless I’m glad for them that it’s charting,

For a little Christmas song I was surprised it appeared so high up on side 1 on Voyage ... I would've ended the album with it ...

Vinyl Singles chart means nothing nowadays sadly! Blondie had a Number 1 and 2 in 2017 but didn't make the proper chart!
