I recommend at some point you try out Wolf Quest. Its a solo/4(?) player coop game in this genre introducing mechanics like territory. I really hope some day someone makes a Wolf Quest MMO.
Here's how it works: You find a mate or your coop friends that's your immediate pack, you find a den and that serves as your home base. From there you gather nearby meat, for a solo rabbits is enough but the more players you have the bigger and more dangerous hunts you can take on (and bigger animals can feed more people for longer).
This ties into the next system, territory. The world is divided into a grid, each tile has a colour and those in other pack's colours have the other packs patrolling them and are dangerous, last thing you want is a neighbouring pack to wander into you or your den. You can increase your control of a tile (or decrease enemy's) by hunting on it, patrolling through it, and basic things you'll be doing anyways. The goal is to raise your pups.
After pups hit some degree of maturity you move to a less safe but more spatious type of den (looks like a bush if I remember right). They can start helping out and whatever but this also means they're vulnerable to danger. As a note there's a ton of little touches like permanent injuries and scars, a number of personalities your pups can have altering their behaviour, and a lot of really neat mechanics.
This game really screams to be an MMO, the multiplayer game just feels like the tutorial area for an MMO (the enemy pack's territories actually cross over the edge of the map, if they expanded it out more you could 100% have room for more players.
also as a note, the combat is actually quite good and the game strives for realism overall. You grab a limb (or the neck for a lot of damage but its running from you so this is hard) and the first bite tells you how health the animal is, holding deals damage over time. You can get kicked or knocked off and you also need to manage your stamina which is required to run or hold on, grabbing on reduces the speed so what usually happens is you identify the weakest member of the herd, and dogpile it until it dies, animals like moose can be fought but are large way out of your league for little return (because chances are the body will rot before you can eat it all)
I 2nd this, I want to watch a personal playthrough of Wolfquest in this style
How I wish Animalia ever implemented comnbat mechanics like Wolfquest is uncertain
I second this! Wolf Quest is, imo, the best animal sim out there currently. The devs do plan on creating more multiplayer modes, maps and including a higher player capacity after the main "story game" is done.
I also wanna see owl play it! Would be interesting with the amazing realism

The end was intense! Gave those lions a run for their money. It's a shame Animalia has devs that are actually worse than the isle, which i didn't even think was possible...

Devs are scammers. Trash dlc costs more than the game itself. They claimed to have custom models but theyre actually free models ripped from 3rd party sources and look like trash. They give out exclusive skins to friends. Super slow development... etc etc.

Has anyone else here heard of a game called the wild earth?! I hope Owltime will find that game it looks very promising! I was hooked after being in the discord for only a few minutes. The devs are kind and welcoming and the community is very fun.
AWDs are one of my favorite animals, I love seeing games that include those gorgeous canines.

I love this species! However its so sad how much this species has suffered from humans. For those who dont know both African Wild Dogs and Painted Dogs are the same thing! But the name had to be changed because when people called them African Wild Dogs there were people killing them out of fear even if they did nothing :[
This isn’t true. They’re just also called Painted Dogs because their scientific name literally means painted wolf.

I’m survival games like this and the isle, there should be a randomise button before spawning that lets you become a random creature with a random sex and random coloration. It would be more realistic and more interesting than picking everything yourself. I just think it would be a nice option.

Let me tell a story noone cares about hearing. I made it to lion elder and my pride found our way into a mess of devs/admins and many many different species grouped together in a close area. a lioness in my pride was telling me how this hippo that was sitting down was in discord with her and was asking to get killed, and being an elder lion who was hungry, I accepted the invitation with open arms. After a few attacks I was positioned about 8 metres away from the hippo when it got up and made it to my position in about 0.5 of a second (due to me being a usual isle player and letting my guard down not knowing a herbivore of such size would be that fast and letting my guard down) only for it to 2 shot my unsuspecting elder lion. Needless to say, I dont think the hippo was in to much of a hurry to die, *nor were they ever in discord together* . Thank you for listening 😊😢

It’s called the wild earth and the UA-cam video I saw about it is called next upcoming African survival games : the wild earth and it goes over what the game is . Have a look at it it looks so nice
