Join me in this video where we discuss the rogue online retailers who are selling fakes and advertising them on Facebook & Instagram. Some retailers, such as sellers on DH Gate also are using influencers to do unboxings and reviews!
The bags they sell aren't cheap, but they're often thousands of Pounds/Dollars/Euros cheaper than the real thing. They also use photos of a real bag in listings, so you think that's what you'll get.
This video is aimed at helping you NOT get duped. It's also a warning to ignore the spammy comments you might be seeing under people's videos! As fast as I delete them they appear again!!

I still love my LV reverse monogram*preluxscom* clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.

I saw a TV special recently on superfakes and the Customs agent said the best quote ever: “The bitterness of poor quality lasts much longer than the happiness of a good price.”
Ooh the accuracy
calling a bag 'authentic fake' is such an oxymoron 😭😭 how could we come this far??
I know, right?! It’s crazy! 😭xx
When I went to the markets in Turkey they used to shout out 'genuine fake!'. Well, at least that's pretty honest 😂
I am a Russian-American and I can assure you that if the domain is Russian, this does not mean that the product came from Russia. You can buy a Russian domain in 3 seconds yourself. Products are supplied from China.
A great point!!xx
Thank you for the video.
The issue I have is that brands like Chanel are no longer asking people to pay for the quality of their items like back in the day. I get that there is the issue of exclusivity, but there is nothing you can say to me to make me pay Eur 8000 simply to be associated with a name. Like really, who are you?!?! Give me a high quality non-designer bag any day of the week! Quite frankly, if I really fall in love with any particular Chanel design, I would go to the *esluxscom* market because I do not see the value that Chanel or many of these luxury fashion houses offer. The fact that many authenticators do not authenticate more recent bags is proof of this in my eyes.
I recently got a pair of sun glasses from LV- I ended up taking them back. Had the receipt, the purchase was in my LV account ect… well they looked at these glasses for ever, even called the manager over to look at them ect. I was so confused. They said the fakes are so good they have to really check them.
Well in that moment it really clicked for me, if the fakes are so good the actual store can barely tell, I’m not spending my money on this shit anymore….
😂
Exactly 😂

So glad you’re addressing this
It really is an issue, so annoying about the spamming especially!! 😑 Hugs to you xx
The reality is: if you are rich and famous, your *esluxscom* will be seen as real. If you are just an ordinary worker working a 9-to-5 job, your genuine bag is likely to be considered fake.
Some Influencers only want money and they are not passionate about anything like makeup or clothes or handbags or cars or anything else.
Influencers? 😂
But what are they spending their money on then 🤣Gosh I love everything you've named above! 🩷🩷🩷🩷
Never say anytthing in general about the brand because you do not know what is happening behind the scenes. Yes even the well known brand they can be used and be linked to nasty crimes.
I always leave a comment saying "scammer" under their posts to try and protect people.
I report them by the three dots too
Fools are the ones who spend $10,000 on a "real" bag. I have a fake Louis Vuitton doctor's bag that I purchased in Korea in 1987. I walked into Neman Marcus with it. Several employees in the handbag section couldn't believe my bag was fake. They are comparing my *esluxscom* to the "real" one and they can't see any difference. Mine cost $40, the real deal was $7500.
@@VegaChastain what do you report them for?
@@samgoldstyle there's a choice for spam, I think there's a choice for repetative / bullying too depending on the comment

Honestly, if you're buying bags from YT comments, you should probably pause and realize that was the first mistake.
Yes yes yes!!! Finally!!! I look at influences and can see straight away that they are fake designer items. I asked one once and she replied "my followers don't like me tagging my items" 😂I will always tag, because I am proud that I've worked hard and can buy a designer item. Well done Sophie, loving this ❤
I always report those stupid messages. They really p*ss me off! I’m glad you did this video.
Yes I've also reported them several times!
They really drive me mad too, and you know, as quick as I’m deleting them more come through. It’s normally at around 3-4am that they come through. I expect to see them under this video in the morning 🤣😅xx🩷
@@SophieShohetOfficial 😂 it’s true, they multiply fast. You’d think there’d be better monitoring of the spam. Instead, they’re worried about what kind of comments regular people are making and deleting those!🤦♀️
Me too I have tonnes of notifications of the reports I've made but no feedback. So flippin annoying
I see lots of people strutting with fake LV bags. It's so bad, I won't buy a monogram LV bag anymore. The same is happening with Chanel classic flap bags. Hermes Birkin is probably next, if not already.
Same. Sometimes I feel I'm done with buying bags because of dupes and super fakes.
Wiseman once said, “Good t’ing no cheap. Cheap t’ing no good”.

The bots nowadays use AI in the comments and it‘s always so annoying, cause it won’t automatically get flagged as spam. Like you said, they seem to be picking up on what the video is about, but the comment will always be weirdly vague e.g. "This brought me so much joy", "I totally agree Sophie!"
That happens on all platforms and besides the obvious "link in bio" ones, they will always get lots of likes too. 😂💀
This is SUCH a great point Alexander, it could well be AI! When the comments come through (normally around 3/4am) they come through on mass. I’ll get any from around 20 to 100 in a matter of hours! Xx🩷
Don’t understand the attraction of fake bags. I would much rather have a genuine Coach or Kate Spade than a fake Chanel or Hermes.
Same. For me I'd feel like a criminal and the bag would be a reminder I'm too poor to buy a real thing. There is lots of good looking relatively cheap bags. Some people claim they like the look of the classics but they didn't look at enough bags. I believe it to be excuse to have a status symbol bag.
Just started my new job today Sophie. Love these types of videos, great to help me switch off and chill
Hi Sophie, I’ve seen the video’s your talking about and ended up thinking the same as you, if I’m going to pay £200-£300 for a fake why not get a lower priced branded bag instead of a fake? I think you did a few videos on the Marc Jacobs tote, and I got one instead of a fake and because a loved it so much I got another one on sale. I’d love it (if you have time) if you did a video on lower priced designer bags. Maybe even a under 1k video?
I can't believe people think they're buying the real McCoy! 🤷♀️ I've bought several leather fake designer bag's from DH Gate & so have both my Niece's. We knew they were good fakes, the bag's weren't advertised as "genuine" etc. I bought a Gucci marmont & I also have a genuine Gucci marmont from the Gucci website & the 2 handbags are identical. DH Gate does have lot's of seller's though & you need to spend time to research the goods, read reviews too.
Thank you Sophie for always staying truthful. You have good principles that is why I follow you from years now. I don’t buy designer bags as I am a grad student, but I see it is getting very common to see influencers promoting fake designer bags. Recently I was following someone who did this and they make it seem so easy, and aesthetic. Anyway, with what u are saying about what their fund probably, I will stop following this person. You are right, it is not ethical. If I were to buy something luxury, I would like to know that is the real thing for all the good reasons too. You are brave for pushing these conversations knowing there are bad people out there trying to normalize this.
Thank you for watching and for your sweet comment Jess, I really appreciate your thoughts and feedback 🥰xx
Good and interesting topic today ~ Thanks Sophie ❤️
Hi Sophie, I would like to think most sensible people would know if a Chanel handbag that looks like “the real thing”, and costs only £200, is definitely not real! You wouldn’t be able to purchase a pre loved one for that price🙈 love Eileen x
One should be very naive to buy a luxury bag from those sites for such prices.
Thanks for this video! I wouldnt expect an influencer promoting fake pdt!!!
Thanks for the insight and information ❤😊
Great topic Sophie! I see these ads all the time on insta and I usu report them. Personally I only buy luxury in each brands store. However there are more sites thatlook genuine that I am weary of such as ”a retro tale” since they are so heavily promoted (it gives me a red flag)
Thanks for talking about this because I too get spam comments like this. I’ve also seen reels on Instagram on super fakes and might be the same person you mentioned. The differences are noticeable and without disclosure.
Oh no 😟 good to know. It is difficult & risky to buy preloved online nowadays. Thanks Sophie for sharing this info.
Hi Sophie, Lovely as always. Thank you for the wonderful videos. Just curious what kind of camera you are using now? And the mic? I am thinking about doing videos as well (on limitless aging and enjoying life 😊).
I really, despite the industry behind it all, kidnapping children and using them is to me the most disturbing about it. So please think about that before you buy these bags ❤
I keep seeing this claim but never any evidence. Literally ever. In about ten years. Autumn Beckman has pointed out the same thing that she tried digging and couldn't find any proof of that, so maybe the designer brands are pushing it.
@@seabreeze4559 It also seems like a huge contradiction - these things are worth more because of the craftsmanship but a child could make it? Doesn’t make sense to me.
I don’t advocate for replicas but I’ve never understood that claim. It’s simple reverse engineering and happens a lot in places like China, handbags are not exempt.
@seabreeze4559 agree with you on the brands pushing this narrative. I've done a ton of reading on the subject and have yet to find actual proof of that. And as someone who has sewn since I was 10, I find it hard to fathom a child possessing the skills to do this kind of detail work. My own suspicion is that many of these bags are made in the same factories that make bags for many major retailers around the world. It would also explain the varying levels of quality in counterfeit bags as well.
@@flohough1870 When the fakes are better quality than the real thing and affordable of course they'd try to shut that down. If they're not made in the same factories you know they studied the bags from a to z to be able to replicate it. Some people own fakes and the real ones and even they are astonished that the real ones fall apart and show damage while the fakes still hold up. This might motivate brands to work on the quality of their product and affordability.
I got tricked like this on Etsy with produce (Dior choker), coming from Ukraine. The original posting said that delivery is from the UK, but when ordered, shipping tracking indicated that produce came from Ukraine. The problem is that you cannot return the chocker back to where it was shipped from… because of war and the cost of tracked shipping is enormous. Since then, I saw multiple accounts with the same photos, these are short lived accounts with 5-10 fake reviews.
I think another issue with these is that they will be knowingly purchased and then displayed in "fake" status pics or vlogs by self proclaimed life coaches, investors and entrepreneurs who want to use these to promote themselves and show off yet another "expensive" item they bought using their fake skills.. Many of these bags come in fake branded boxes etc. Scam just doesn't stop on these bags..
Hi Sophie, still sitting propped up on sofa so clicking early was easy done today😊 Hugs xx
So were you first ? 😉
I hope you’re feeling better Jill, I broke my foot a few years ago and I remember the pain 😔 I hope you’re ok 🩷 A good reason to relax ☺️🥰🩷xx
if someone actually believes they can get geniune LV bag for 200$, they deserved to be scammed.
Exactly!
I agree.
People should know that unless they buy from the brand store, they are likely buying a fake, but still. I know someone who works for a company and said that scammers now buy the real product and try to return the fakes to sell the real at full price and make a profit. If the fakes are that good the legit store might be putting them up for sales in the legit store too so who knows. At that point you might as well hire someone to make you a unique custom bag if you really wanna be sure you have an original bag.
Hi Sophie ! Thanks for addressing this . Unfortunately there are less and less " physical" stores specialized in pre-loved and also vintage designer handbags and prêt-à-porter items . Nowadays you are " gambling" while virtually buying a designer handbag . Greetings from Paris ❤🗼
You’re so right Joanna, what with everything being online it’s a gamble knowing what you’re going to get! Hugs to you!!xx🩷

@@SophieShohetOfficial thank you!
Look out for spelling and grammar errors, if they use google translate etc. that will be common. I have seen that on a fake Poléne site. Poléne might not be considered luxury but I think it applies for other price categories as well.
Would love to see bags $2k and under. I like Coach, YSL, Kate Spade, etc.
You can get some really excellent quality leather bags from "lesser" brands -- often better quality than some of the luxury fashion houses are putting out these days, imo.
I can certainly do that!!xx🩷
I get these ads on my IG and FB pages from time to time and I always report them , but they always pop up again . The most common one is for LV bags on clearance . I always comment on them to let people who don't know that these are fakes .
Sophie I get the same comments on my UA-cam videos and it’s so frustrating because then some of my viewers will ask, are your bags authentic based on the comments? I keep deleting these spam comments but sometimes they come in at such high volumes it’s a challenge to catch them all!!

if the store is not well-known (no matter if it's a physical store or online one), don't buy from them. period. doesn't matter if it's luxury or a pair of socks. being sold a fake is the best-case scenario actually - you could have your card details or even your entire profile stolen for you and used for god knows what
Oh yes please for a video for bags £2k and under! Thank you Nxo
I think the real issue is pushing fakes as legitimate items, that’s the real scam. As you say, people can do what they like, but it’s not fair if you think you’re getting something genuine and you’re not. £200-400 might be a lot for some people dipping their toe into luxury, that might sound like it’s still expensive and a decent price for a bag so I don’t agree when people say ‘what do you expect if you pay that?’ I’ve told friends who don’t like luxury the price of my bags and they’re flabbergasted, they honestly believed a Gucci or LV bag was a few hundred pounds (if only!) I do laugh at your point about finding drug cartels etc because it’s always been heavily rumoured that Versace have strong links to the mafia, Hugo Boss made nazi war uniforms, Chanel was a Nazi sympathiser, the list goes on 😂 these designer companies aren’t innocent, that’s for sure! I’ve started dipping my toe in smaller more bespoke luxury brands for this reason like dragon diffusion, demellier etc. I find it hard to support these huge luxury retailers these days with the practices they continue to do.
They are also setting up a bunch of fake companies in Turkey so if the link has .ty it's a Turkish location. Tanner Leatherstein had a very good video about this. They set up companies and use the designers actual website pictures for their fake company. They make it look like you are actually buying from Dior, Prada, etc. He even contacted the actual real companies to let them know what was going on.
Also as a PSA, NEVER EVER buy anything you see in a Facebook advertisement. Every item they are selling is crap or fake.
Thanks for the video. I have been sent messages on Instagram from this kind of seller always reported and blocked. I will stand clear of eBay too. Personally, I have seen a massive decline in the platform and they don't always block shady sellers or buyers.
Buying a fake handbag is only going to hurt your wallet or your pride if you get found out trying to pass it off as real/authentic. Rise in fake cosmetics is very worrying as they could do irreparable harm to someone. Fake Estée Lauder, as well as other brands, are being sold on dubious websites. In the case of Estée Lauder products, they were being sold for only a little less than retail which could lead to somebody thinking they were the real products - NOS as they say!!
I will no longer buy cosmetic products of any kind on Amazon for this reason. They aren't vetting sellers closely and there is so much counterfeit stuff being funneled through that platform.
SMH THIS IS WHY IM ONLY BUYING IN STORE 😢IDK HOW MUCH IT COST! 💲
If it seems to good to be true, then it is.
I think something that has to be addressed is, customer service of these designer brands. If you Google trustpilot and the name of the brand-they're all very low scores. I remember I contacted LV about a bag (men's) that wasn't on the website. Didn't receive a reply. You go to the stores and they have an almighty chip on their shoulder and a superiority complex too.
That gets my back up. If someone is willing to pay a pretty penny, the customer service should be exemplary.
So true! And when you stop spending, sometimes they become very unfriendly, it’s a shame 🙁xx
I find the lv chat useful (when it actually is available) lol. But totally get what you’re saying. ❤
Hallo, Sophie, love your video. when i think that the super fake are so identical to the authentic one, its stopping me to buy a second hand bag. And the crime on the street has been increase, this reason has also stop me to buy a new one from the boutique. For me it s a kind of the end of it. 😢 too sad
Hello Sophie, to be honest, anything advertised on Facebook when it comes to designers is usually fake. Also, people try to sell items they stole from someone!
To be fair, the ones in Russia and China, are usually ads from private sellers or smaller companies (not talking about the ones you came across, but the ones I saw). And if you talk to them, Russian ones will tell you: " it's a good/medium quality dupe" . Chinese ones - some will say it, some won't. The way I know it, is some of these people reached out to me with ads on IG. And I knew it looked off, so I asked and that's literally what they said.
As for authentic, I came across some unknown retailers and some known second hand ones, where they use that word and after looking at some of their bags, I could see something fake about it or just felt it was, especially when the price is too good to be true.
Also, the Russian websites you mentioned, not sure about the site, as I've never come across one from there advertising it, but I can tell you that it can be made as a website for a specific country to attract a client base in that country. Russia is known to have money to spend on luxury (not everyone, but a category of people), so it would good for whoever wants to sells this to create a website to advertise there to attract these people, who might also not have a clue what they're buying.
I can also tell you for sure that in Russia, there are no companies who make copies of designer bags like that, looking identical and not in their target, that's reserved for China, where people can sometimes copy every single detail or almost. So if there's someone selling it there, most likely it comes from China.
I get this sort of thing popping up in my Instagram feed all the time. They mainly show Chanel bags that do look like the real thing, but the price is ridiculously low. So you have to know they are fakes and who knows what you will get if you fall for it. Sometimes I take the time to block them but not always. Oh, and Sophie, I've been meaning to tell you this: Michael Kors has been promoting a bag on their website that looks sooo much like Hermes!
What are your opinions on upcycled bags? I know someone in LA that buys LV bags that have been trashed and they turn the scraps into new bags.
I would rather buy real thing for $500, than spend any money on fake stuff! I would buy real stuff from the brands that i can afford! Fake bags ALWAYS give it away. You can always tell!
200 dollars is not a hard one (without a doubt fake), whats hard are those fake that are good quality and priced quite high.
I only purchase from the official fashion houses themselves…to get the authentic paperwork
, lot numbers, etc.
I love your phone cover, where is it from?
Hello lovely! Thank you so much, it’s from Crystal Iced, she custom makes cases with pretty much any design you want 🥰xx
Great video. How annoying that you’re spammed by all those scammers trying to trick people into buying fakes or super fakes. 🙄 Even though I’m not a UA-camr or influencer, several scammers send me private DM’s almost weekly trying to scam me into buying from their sites, or that they will send me bags for free if I will review and take photos of the bags and then put them on my Instagram (as if). I always report them to Instagram and block them.
I’m sorry this is happening to you too Melissa, it really is annoying! xx🩷
Is Cettire legit?? Geez Louis! Thank you for doing this video! ❤
Ooh, I hope so! I’ve bought from there before but now you mention it, it is all quite discounted 🤯xx
@@SophieShohetOfficialBe careful with Cettire. They have been caught selling the fakes. Do a UA-cam search and you'll see the videos of people catching Cettire for selling fakes. I won't buy from them.
I've bought from Cettire and what I've received from them have microchips, so, yes, they were real.
Yup they're legit, I've been regularly buying from Cettire for almost a year now and have never had any problems. They are amazing!!
Shorts and hoodies from brands like LV for a low price you know they are not the real thing. However its a casual look the item shipped is the exact same on the website and well i have bought a couple pieces for the weekend. The real items in the boutiques are not as inventive and those are at well gouging prices. They are going the other way which opens up the space you are talking about. However when the pour years of these prices they obviously think they can't go back to being fairly priced. Its a monster issue the boutiques have brought on themselves.
I would NEVER buy anything less from these sites, Bags/anything leather canvas NO WAY SS. If I want say a cool messenger bag belt etc I have used with fantastic experience Fashionphile The Real Real (though pricey for even worn items)or Ebay. Be warned viewers on EBAY. Item not as described etc. However Paypal really works with you and even if the shady seller says no returns too bad Paypal says once they have verified its been returned you get a refund!! Ebay return policy is a joke unless the item you want to return is under $10. Combative and well if the shady seller will not return tough list it yourself. No!!
I get lots of those spam comments from the fakes too and block and delete as soon as I can. The amount you get must be so annoying! I am sure you get the emails from the fake companies too wanting you to do an unboxing. One went so far as to ask me to show my real bag and said they'd pay me $75. No thanks! No fakes for me.
I understand the desire to own a trophy bag. However, even trying to buy a super fake on Canal Street in NYC is now very difficult. That said, quality unbranded leather bags can be bought in Spain and Italy at very affordable prices from reputable stores and workshops. Some will "resemble" famous brands others forge their own look. I have a bag that is now over 30 years old that I bought as a student for my first job. It still looks sharp but is heavy. Now I rock nylon (I don't have to impress the supervisor). Guess why? I appreciate the advice that you dispense without judgment to your viewers. Sometimes, a nudge in the right direction can make an immense life altering impact.
Someone that I know went on vacation and bought 2 LV bags . What I find is interesting is that it is unusually heavy in weight , but I asked why it is soo heavy their answer was it's good leather . What do you think ?
I always see on Insta a bunch of deeply discounted 'Chanel' bags offered by Neiman Marcus Last Call. That was the name of their outlet store, which I think is no more. Not sure about that.
These are in the $400.-600. range. Of course they are fake. And the 'Neiman Marcus' they link you to is also fake. Huge scammers! Neiman Marcus would never do this!
It really is bad, you have to be so careful!!xx
What about Italist? And Jomashop?
Honestly, I’m amazed people are still falling for this stuff
There's a large replica community out there that enjoys the thrill of hunting for the perfect fakes and will resell amongst themselves to rotate out old fakes for new ones in their "collection." My thoughts on fakes weren't particularly negative until I realized the way they treated these superfake replicas like fast fashion, left a bad taste in my mouth. Their reasoning is that luxury brands are overcharging us for POOR QUALITY products, so why not buy superfakes that are "better quality?" To which I wonder why they would still want to represent a brand and buy fakes of a brand they despise for its pricing and quality... Why not buy a contemporary brand that doesn't overcharge? It then occurred to me that their mental gymnastics to avoid the fact that they still want the brand and all it stands for (money, social aspect, etc) and simply feel entitled to it... Kind of gross... If you don't like a luxury brand's pricing and products, support other brands maybe?
They do like the products but they don't like the price for the quality they receive nowadays.
@@marlenepopov8469 That's what I said. Why wear a fake bag of a product you know to be low quality? Why not buy the vintage of when quality was better? It's not like a classic flap is a unique shape. There are tons of other brands that have similar shaped bags. But it's the CC they want...
@@TFLDesign There's nothing wrong with them wanting Chanel but not being able to afford it vintage or not.
@@marlenepopov8469 But the people in this group CAN afford it. They compare it to their authentic stuff all the time. And yes, there's absolutely nothing wrong with not being able to afford luxury. Hence, back to the contemporary, affordable option bags out there. Once again, you're highlighting it's the CC they're after, and not the general shape or usability of the bag. If a rep bag doesn't have the CC, the price is significantly lower. Clearly everyone is marking up the logo.

My position is control what you can and recognize what you can't. If you pay a *percentage* of retail for an item and/or the retailer is not a certified distributor...😐... The only caveat is the resale market. I've heard Ebay has a good authentication process and there are a number of other online retailers that claim this as well, but be mindful and pursue those reviews as needed.
Hi sophie xx
Hey Rebecca!!
Hello Rebecca and Jill! Apologies, I’m slow today. Currently cooking dinner and trying to catch up!!xx🩷
Hi Sophie, I really appreciate your transparency and honesty with this. I have been struggling with a company here in Aus called Cosette, who claims they are selling authentic goods. They even have a legitimate shop and online store, but they are not selling genuine products. I have a Gucci bag from them that has been authenticated 3x and come back as a fake. It is such a difficult situation as they are refusing to refund the bag, as they claim it is real, so now I have an ongoing court case against them. There are also hundreds of other people who have reported them for the same issue, so its not like its a one off, it goes over multiple brands too. Its so hard to know who to trust nowadays. It makes me only want to purchase directedly from brands, even know there are good places like netaporter and harrods, etc. This whole experience has made me loose trust in a lot places. 😟
I am a bit in a conundrum. Usually, I buy a bag from amazon, ebay etc. for about $100 and it lasts about a year. That's just how I roll. A few years ago, I got a nice looking bag from amazon which is actually good quality. However, when I bought it due to its shape and colour, I didn't know that it's a dupe for the Hermes Garden Party 🙈. Now, a very nice bag sits in my basement and I can't decide whether to use it or not because I do not want to run around with a fake.
A dupe is different to a fake - if the bag just looks like a designer bag then it is just a dupe and that is fine - however if it has a Hermes badge and it isn't a Hermes then it is a fake and deserves to be trashed!
@@snowcat44 That clarfies it. Thank you very much. Guess who will be sporting a new bag when the spring weather sets in.
Even from legit retailers they are selling fakes (although I don’t think that is intention, it’s more that fakes are being returned). It’s why I typically only buy directly from the brand now. It’s so risky these days.
Lol I’m surprised people get tricked by this. It was very nice how you addressed it but seriously…

I can't lie I brought a bag off dhgate to try to see if I liked it before splashed out on the real thing. cost £40 and was a really good bag But clearly not really. Glad I did because I then tried it out for a while and knew I was happy to pay the big money. Sent the dupe to charity so some good come from it too so that was helpful for me.
I do this or if I can find a very similar dupe from a high street brand because I bought a ysl toy loulou and it just didn’t fit my lifestyle but couldn’t return it so took a big loss and a lot of time to sell it.
@@TheCXBbudget Yes totally. I can afford to loose £40 but not 1000's of pounds .I made the same mistake too buying straight away and ended up selling it and that was an awful experience! The buyer tried claim it wasn't real and not pay me. Never doing that again x
@@kustardlovesyou 100% agree with this, I did it years ago before buying an LV bag. Turned out I really did like it and bought the real deal. So it has it's purpose. It's just sad that there are people who are using it as a way to rip people off. Let the buyer beware has never been more applicable.
I agree with you, I'd rather get a fendi or gucci instead 🎉 Ev
Yes please! We’d love $2000 or less luxury bags . Thank you. Cordially, tr
it's AI
I brought a fake YSL bag for $30 from Spain and the most funny thing is people actually think it looks genuine 😂😂
Hi Sophie! I hope you still remember me haha I've been missing in your comment section due to this scammers! My IG has been receiving tons of these "retailers". Actually, I have blocked them and also reported them to IG for selling fakes which is illegal, but I am guessing that's not the case in all countries because I've got IG's generic response of "we've reviewed your request but couldn't find anything wrong". So, I love you and your videos but I stopped commenting for a while because of those annoying messages... Anyways thanks for letting us know about this and I hope that no one gets fooled by these individuals.
Of course I remember you Johanna! I hope you’re doing well??
That’s frustrating about IG, I’m getting the same thing! They’ll send the message to lots of people including me. As quick as I delete/block, more come through 🙁 You’re right, IG don’t do anything about it 😔
Hugs to you xx🩷🥰
@@SophieShohetOfficial I am fine thank you 💐😘. Hugs to you my dear 🥰
I purchased a bag from Flannels (gucci marmont) and it felt off so got it authenticated and it was fake - i reported it via paypal returned it and got a full refund - apparently there was news articles of them selling fake coats a couple of years ago - i think its the people that work in the warehouses swapping items - shocking 😳
Omg!!! I bought a Gucci bag from them in January, now I'm stressing!xx
@@SophieShohetOfficial im sire mine was a rarity but i looked up and it has happened before - im sure its not Flannels themselves but staff swapping items - i just had a feeling something was “off” and it was bugging me so i had it authenticated - so the £10 authentication fee was worth every penny. I was shocked as Flannels is a well know department store. I bought it on line from their website at a discounted price. It was the Gucci Marmont GG canvas
Im sure yours is fine xxx
@@janeylou7111 I’m so glad you got your money back, I think I should have mine authenticated perhaps 🤔 it looks like the real thing but you never know!!xx
I think the point you made of buying fake bag after fake bag for $500 a pop, let’s say, and then what? What do you have? A closet full of 💩 you can’t sell them, you spent all that money on fakes when in reality you could have spent all that money for the real thing.
As a luxury handbag and everything else luxury collector ha, I absolutely despise the counterfeit world. But I’m hoping that the majority of people would have their own common sense to know that a bag for £200 is definitely not the real thing. It baffles me that people are still falling for it. If no one ever purchased fakes then they would cease to trade . Disgraceful industry
Okay here's the thing....if the price is too good to be true, RUN!
So true!!xx
A place I went tat Istanbul and they were real leather bags but they want 2,700 for an Hermes…I rather buy an LV or Fendi or Loewe for that….
It's a common themes. People returning from Turkey ALL with LV bags. Admittedly, I never looked at Neverful again.
I would buy second hand bags for that money. I bought my chanel backpack for $300 15 years ago in Japan ❤
Also super fakes are upto £50 depending on where you get it from
You get what you pay for.
Just FYI, the intrinsic value of any handbag (or any other item) is limited to the value of the material from which it is made. This means that the tougher the financial situation becomes, the closer the resale value of genuine designer bags will get to the value of their leather and hardware, which as Tanner Leatherstein has demonstrated rarely to never exceeds 1k.
So no, it is not wise to think of designer pieces as "investments"
Anyone know the online retailers that are selling fakes in the USA?
I know for a fact Lord and Taylor is one.
I mean really? Someone is really asking if a $200 LV bag is real? 🤦🏼♀️
But lvmh was allegedly found money laundering russian money. They technically help criminals as well.
People buy super fakes because they want a particular bag at a lower price. So paying 2000K for a Chanel instead of 4K and no one can tell saved you 2K. It's wrong but they get the same satisfaction at a lower price.
So true!!xx
But the thing is, they are not getting a Chanel for $2k. The superfake never was and will never be a Chanel. They will never be able to honestly sell it as a Chanel. If they sell it later on, it will just be a used superfake. I wonder what the market prices are for such things among knowledgeable buyers?
Now that (the market prices for used AAA+ superfakes) would be an interesting video!
@@ModernVintage31 Hi, not everyone wants to sell their bags. A great number of people keep their bags, please do not think UA-cam and resellers represent the majority of people who buy luxury.
how does the hardware hold up? Is the leather as soft? In general the super fakes are still sub par
@@flyboy3186 I could not tell you this and unless you have had some and use them over a period of time nor can you. There is a reason why they are called super fakes and cost 2k or more. I can get a leather smith to make a bag and you would not be able to tell the difference. Some of the craftsmen who work for these companies have made super fakes once they leave.
No haters please but I’ve purchased from one of the companies selling fakes. A couple of Chanel bags which I really love. The reason I purchased a fake is because the genuine bags are completely out of my grasp in terms of price. It doesn’t bother me the bags aren’t genuine, they are lovely leather.
What I don’t understand is why people spend thousands on a multitude of fake bags that are on trend when they could buy one genuine bag.
he variety of textures in the bbkbags pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
@sophie example A 😂
You know it! 🤣xx
