In this Japanese speech, Yuzuru speaks with feeling like regret and frustration. That's why his voice is lower than when he usually speak Japanese. Ordinary Yuzuru is charming even when speaking Japanese.

Idk the reason but I've noticed that many tend to do so when they don't speak their native language (for example Stray Kids Felix when speaking English (his native language) and Korean)
People voice change if they speak different language. It's common to bilingual and multilingual people. I've read this somewhere before. It's true. my voice become deeperwhen i speak English than my voice when speaking my native language. Maybe one of the reasons is how they learned english. Like, if their mentor has a deep voice, they might adapt it. Also films, vlogs, and other people influences the way they speak. The accent also plays a big role here.
From my personal experience, when I speak English (my second language) I raise my voice a little and often stress the words longer than a native speaker because it gives me more time to think what words to say next whereas I don't need to "think" speaking my native language so I can speak faster. I agree with *nana* about the influence of other people. I learned more from mimicing people, so I've been influenced by different people and how they speak.
It's mostly because of the accent as well. When I speak my native language, I talk more quickly. When I speak English(my second language), my voice sometimes is deeper than how I usually talk in my native language, but sometimes, when greeting, my pitch is a little higher as well when i speak korean. We usually develop the way the native speakers say it sometimes or how we learn it.
Японское произношение делает голос более низким, богатым, красочным. Всё-таки наш голос красиво звучит, только когда мы говорим на родном языке ... Девушка в конце - зря вы так, это лишнее, не надо примазываться к славе Ханю, который гениален.
Yeahhh… it was so weird.. I have this Myanmar friend.. when she talked in English, her voice was so cute, but I once heard her talking to her friends in their mother language and boy she sounded different.. like so elegant and poised and mature and ladylike.. I was so shocked 😂
It's because English is a very high pitched language and Japanese is low pitched. As a trilingual English is the highest pitched of the 3 languages I speak fluently and the highest pitched of all the languages I have learned in my life.

forever thinking about that tweet that described Yuzu's accent when speaking english as a "canadian twinkcent"
Interesting. He's raising his range while speaking English, compared to natural Japanese voice, lower pitched. Hmm. why?

My voice changes when I speak different languages too. It’s lower with French. I haven’t quite noticed it with my Japanese though.

You generally speak in a higher voice when you are less comfortable with the language lol. Fans kinda know he avoids the English when allowed to.
Can't compare. He's greeting/talking in English via zoom, while talking in Japanese F2F so he doesn't have to shout.
"my matha matHa Daru"
Tbh language does cause some changes in how the voice sounds
Who else so laughed at the end
You mean the girl's face , she is a troll lol
