I've never fished the Ogden river and we live only blocks away from it in West Haven. I'm curious how the fishing is there. I've never fly fished so I'm gonna go try what I know and see what happens! I'm especially curious how the fishing is right now with the rivers about to flood over and moving fast.
Fishing high/muddy water is often times very challenging. On days that have normal flows, the Ogden fishes very well. Smaller fish, but there is a lot of them. With the water being so high, I would recommend big flies fished close to the bank. Look for places on the bank that have over hang and slightly slower flows. The fish are there and they still need to eat. I just prefer better water conditions haha - Ry

Pretty close! We parked at the botanical gardens off of Monroe and followed the river east from there.
Would it be rude to ask if you could share what size and Nancy are using I'm just getting skunked here in the fall. I was there today at that exact spot.

Hey! Just moved out here in Jan and bought a fly fishing set up! Wanting to get out there and learn! What area was this at on the river?
Just above the botanical gardens on Monroe blvd. and a little below Harrison blvd.
