CHOMUTOV/JIRKOV TROLLEYBUS (2015)

Der O-Bus in Chomutov verbindet seit 1995 die Stadt mit der Nachbargemeinde Jirkov, nachdem eine projektierte Schnellstraßenbahnstrecke aus finanziellen Gründen nicht realisiert werden konnte. Die Strecken des Oberleitungsbusses verkehren ab der Poliklinik und dem Busbahnhof in Chomutov über eine Stadtstrecke, sowie eine Schnellstraße über so zwei verschiedene Wege, um nach einem Kreisverkehr gemeinsam durch die östlichen Plattenbausiedlungen bis nach Jirkov zu gelangen. Dieses Video zeigt einen Großteil des Streckennetzes, auf welchen die jüngsten klassischen 15Tr der Welt beheimatet sind.

Thank you for sharing this video with us. After watching the almost silent trolleybus vehicles in action, climbing hills with effortless ease I cannot understand why they are considering closing the system down! Everyone else should be using these efficient vehicles. My town...Bournemouth on the south coast of England with many steep roads....scrapped its trolleybus system almost 50 years ago. We now have slow and noisy diesel vehicles. So, I think the Authorities involved should be very, very careful before scrapping these marvellous vehicles. Rob.

There had been problems with the production of trolleybusses up till recently. Some operators Amy could not find replacement vehicles.
There are practically two producers in Europe, Solaris with Ganz and Van Hool.

Well done, this video might soon be historical because our town is thinking about cancelling trolleybuses and replacing them with CNG buses. I hope it will never happen.
In 0:39 on the left side, there's a disused line to iron works. In 12:30 on the left side, there's a temporarily cancelled line (due to construction of a new roundabout). It wasn't used for one and and a half year (the same as the line to iron works), so we'll see if they reopen it. They should because the rest of the line (direction to Jirkov) would be useless.
And one more note: our town has now the oldest fleet of trolleybuses in the Czech Republic (by average age). Some of them are here since 1994.

Cool. Ich hatte bei einer 🇨🇿-Tour bewusst in Chomutov Halt gemacht. Negativ fiel mir jedoch auf, dass der Bahnhof nicht direkt mit den Stadtbussen verbunden ist. Die O-Bus-Tour nach Jirkov hat mir gefallen und alles entschädigt. Von Autobusové nádraží in Jirkov kommt man dann auch gut weiter nach Most (mit dem Regiobus). Danke für die schöne. Eindrücke.

The Skoda Trolleybus's poles are shaking sometimes when they go fast. The wires are shaking too especially when a Skoda goes on it faster
