Hi guys, I made this video so that people who think about getting guinea pigs have realistic expectations. Guinea pigs require a lot of work and you need to consider this before getting them. Obviously, I love guinea pigs and think they're the best pets (I also made a video about reasons you SHOULD get guinea pigs) but that doesn't mean that everyone is going to agree with me. It's important to also share the work that comes with caring for pets so that less end up being given away. This video is still a LOVE LETTER to guinea pigs, watch the last point :)
SO TRUE... My piggy just do the exact same thing. Also with the constant attention and feeding he gets, he knows how lazy my ass is, so he just be more louder n louder unless m fully awake n ready for work, so he is not only my alarm but also a good boi🙈 P.S : i hate him also i love him... P.P.S : my family loves him more than me, not jealous atal😬
In my opinion: Every pet costs time, money, space, care etc. Just be prepared, make sure you can give them what they need and if you think you can't; don't buy pets.
I really want to rescue a guinea pig that’s being neglected but I don’t think I could afford one especially since I already have a hamster which is pretty expensive, but it makes me so sad I just want to help that piggie. The owners said he can’t be near other piggies because he’s super aggressive but fine with humans which is strange to me and I just want him to be happy and healthy they also don’t give him enough veggies and hay and it just hurts my heart that I can’t help him😭
Yes, and these kinds of videos are super helpful to give an impression for those who never had a pet in their lives, would love to get one, but they have no idea what to prepare for. Just as the video explains it, you might have some expectations, you might try your best to be realistic, but these expectations might still not match reality.
@@avieebvlogs8018 i know this was 4 months ago but you would not be able to help him if you can’t afford what he needs especially since he is a rescue he is going to be more expensive bc of more trips to the vet and if you already have a hamster which is pretty expensive and (kinda) hard to care for so a guinea pig would not be able to have a better life
Isidro Lopez-Erwine there are 404+ people who are terrible owners and those people don’t take into account the ideas mentioned in the video...so those 404+ bad owners should not have one
I have been keeping guinea pigs since I was 10 years old and I am now 60! So that's half a century of guinea pig keeping and yes, lots and lots of photographs!.
I think it is best not to pick up a guinea pig on the day you get it. Let it have a quiet time in its hutch, with some nice food. Then, the next day, you can gently put your hand in the hutch so that it can get the scent of you, and later on, try stroking the guinea pig and then gently picking it up.
Some guinea pigs are just very timid. I have several, and there is one who just does not like being picked up at all. But once I have managed to pick him up, he is fine, and will sit happily on my lap, eating treats and being stroked. Is your guinea pig the only one or have you got others?
Oh My Gosh! I wish my friend could have seen this last year. I am a college student living in a dorm and I had a friend who adopted a Guinea pig as a companion, even though pets are not allowed in our dorms. She would use old shirt she found in the free box as bedding, and change them every two weeks. She gave him a bath very often and then when summer came and she had to go back home across the country she found out that Piggies are not allowed on planes (for good reasons). So she asked me to take care of him for the summer and I didn't have the heart to say no (and apparently the brain either), I was really nervous about having him and being able to take car of him so I looked up "how to take care of a Guinea Pig" and I found your channel and learned so much, and I was horrified at how many things this friend was doing that were sooooo wrong in terms of a Guinea pig. I didn't have the heart to keep him on old shirt bedding so I began buying him actual bedding (even though my friend would never pay me back for that since I agreed to take care of him under her terms and not mine). During the middle of the summer we went through a heat wave and my dorm was sooo hot I could hardly sleep, people in my work place began to notice how incredibly worried I was about Piggy dying in the heat of my room so my boss did the nicest thing and allowed me to put him in her office for a couple of days until the heat wave passed, this involved me having to go to and from that office so many times a day because I obviously couldn't just leave him there. At a certain point I realized that I would have to leave before my friend came back and all of a sudden she was nowhere to be found when I asked her to help me look for someone to take him from me. No one was willing to do for me what I did for this person, and once I realized that next winter it would be the same story, I did the hardest thing, I found someone to adopt Pigster, I explained to my friend that it was the right thing to do because college was no place for a Piggy...and all she said was 'okay let him know, I paid $30 for him.' At this point I was willing to do anything to get Piggy to a better life, so I gave him to his new dad for free and I had to pay this friend $30,not to mention all the money I had spent on him all summer, the only loser was me. I'm sorry this was such a long comment but this video in particular sparked in me everything that I needed to get off my chest. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, because throughout that whole time, I was watching your videos and I still do even though Piggy is long gone. I want to thank you for giving your piggies such a great home, a home that all piggies deserve, and for sharing your knowledge, because I went through so much trouble and stress last year just because of someone else's ignorance on how to take care of a pet.
I started watching her videos because my daughter wanted guinea pigs. It was what I learned on this channel that changed her mind. Particularly when my wife agreed with me the only place where we could have a large enough enclosure for multiple piggies was where the dvd rack was. My daughter wanted a pet for her room and ended up with fish. Yet I’m still watching these updates
I always get sad when I think about the eventual death of my babies😭 the fact that they won't be there forever is the worst part about having pets for me.
I keep having dreams of my guinea pigs dying...I always wake up to check on them. I love them so much and my dog died in June so I don't want my 3-year-old piggy dying a few months later...😭😭😭
i’m on my 3rd pair of guinea pigs , i first had 2 when i was 3-4 , then in 2015 i got 3 the last one died in summer last year, around 5 weeks ago i got some new ones, the deaths don’t get easier but if you spend lots of time with them and you treasure every day you have with them it does get easier but it’s still never easy, my guinea pig that died last summer died from seizures but i didn’t find the death as hard as the rest of mine because she was old and i knew she was going to die, but when they die when they are quite young is the saddest. okay bye story time that no one asked for is over!
One of mine is sick right now and it’s true. But she seems much more trusting of me now that I’m caring for her and making her feel better, and she was always the more social one so now it’s like I’ll be chasing her sister around the cage for health checks, nail trims, etc and she just get up close to my face begging for more food completely unbothered by my harassment of the other one.
We've only been guinea pig parents for a few months, but it was easily one of the best choices we've ever made! I recently built them a bigger open air cage, and they absolutely love it! My husband has health problems and is out of work right now, and I really think they've helped give both of us a sense of purpose, and they're just so much fun! It's definitely been an adventure learning how to care for them, and your channel has been a big help, especially when we introduced our new baby this last month!
So true!!! I’ve spent a fortune on my babies, because they deserve the best. Bought like 8 hideies for two two of them, and I obiously cannot fit all of them in their cage, even though it’s far from small 😂 They get the best food. Actually they have a better diet than I do. I bought them fleece bedding which wasn’t cheap either. But it’s totally worth it. I love them. I can watch them the whole day. ❤️
Same same same!!!I Exactly our story. Our kids are grown and gone, we got my daughter's guinea pigs when she got married. i will admit, we have gone off the deep end. Hidey houses, multiple play structures, in almost every room and garage...it's a bit ridiculous. We installed HEPA air cleaner machine and extra heater on a thermostat. There is also hay everywhere in the house. Piggie hair on my best black clothes and shoes. I have to carry multiple lint and hair removal rollers in the car. Even my wool overcoat. But we loooove our piggies so much!
Same. Only the best for the little furballs ❤ Also sadly had to spend a fortune on vet bills as well. One of my old piggies had a huge tumor in her belly and needed surgery. 2 days in the vet clinic plus the meds and treatment after were about 800€ if I remember correctly. But it was definitely worth it. She lived 3 more happy, healthy years with us before she died of old age at 7 1/2 years.
I had a cheap dad is the health cost for Guinea pigs are very true. Two of my Guinea pigs passsd away, the first had a cough and my father was too cheap to bring him to the vet and he paseed. The second belonged to a shelter and he turned out to have a cancerous tumor in his intestines and didn’t last longer than a month. Rip t both of them. Now we have four and we are agreed to bring them to a vet if anything comes up. Thanks for teaching me
My Guinea pig past away before new years. She was a abyssinian albino. I miss her so much. She was very Ill and had breathing problems. I cant get over it. I held her one last time. It was special I held her for an hour. The next day I had barried her at my tatas where all the other animals were. I cant get over her. I was to attached to her. I am still sad.😢🖤 I still panic, and cant even focus and school a lot. It's hard for me and one of my hardest loses.
To be honest, I'm scared that my oldest guine pig is actually about to die, she's 4, almost 5, and I've have her through such hard times in my life and would cuddle with her when I was deeply depressed, some people don't think you can be this close to a small animal but you really can, these small little fellas are some of the sweetes and most adorable things I've ever seen
@@saragallegos3593 they require some patience to get them used to you and a new environment and it requires a lot of cleaning, as she states in the video. but other than that, theyre super worth it in my opinion. however, when getting a guinea pig, you should never buy only one. getting two is important because they rely on each other. if you only get one, the one guinea pig will most likely get lonely and depressed with the lack of companionship from another piggie. (:
Piggies are 100% worth it (and I am that crazy piggie person that has 3000 piggie photos on the phone and I show the pictures to literlly everyone lol)

True. I got my first guinea pigs not just because I thought they were adorable little critters, but also because my dad didn’t want a dog(my mom wanted a pet and a dog was one of the first suggestions) and thought guinea pigs would be less work. Now that we do have a dog, he’s always saying that we should have gone for a dog a lot sooner. Our dog is allergic against almost everything and she still isn’t as expensive overall as our pigs were. And the time consuming part with a dog is fun because they actually want to interact with you, which only a few of the guinea pigs we had were even okay with. It was a good time with our piggies and they were the most adorable little things, but they’re not for everyone if you want them to truly be happy.
I used to have a guinea pig. She was my four legged furry best friend and I loved her more than anything. She died when I reached middle school. RIP Rosie. I'll never forget what amazing memories we had. She was spoiled and always made noise when I opened up the fridge. She was and still is my baby. ❤️
I'm glad you're doing this cause I do think many people only see the fun and play part of sharing your home with guinea pigs and it would be sad if they got piggies only to bring them to a rescue a couple of weeks later.
My guinea pigs (two girls of 11 weeks old tomorrow ) are my alarm in the morning! They wake me up by running round, wheaking and popcorning, despite doing plenty of research I was surprised by how much work to into them, but I’m loving ever second of it! Wouldn’t change it for the world
Aww I totally agreed tho, but it’s worth the effort, because u get rewarded with pigs! Edit: thanks for the heart, i love your pigs also and your videos! This is my first time getting hearted :D love you little adventures Ps: love from Pumpkin and Teddy! (My pigs)
10 spirit true but there are many people who are terrible owners that do not give proper care. This should serve as a lesson to them and future owners who may not take these into account
I originally had two guinea pigs and they hated each other. Then when one of them passed I was worried my other would show signs of depression, but she actually became much friendlier and happier. So in my personal experience not all guinea pigs are better off with a companion. Instead I am my piggies number one companion which means I have to spend lots of time with her, but I don't mind if that is what makes her happy.
My guinea pig of 6 almost 7 years, Corkie, died a while back. He was the sweetest little thing! I remember holding him in my bed and falling asleep with him sometimes.
gacha cookie im so sorry for your loss 😓 my guinea pig is 7 going on 8 and i know i’m going to be devastated when she goes. It’s so hard to see them grow older i really don’t want to go throw that pain.
When I was at school we got a class pet which was a Guinea pig When we got him I felt so bad for him since our teacher didn’t bother to trim his nails and he was always hiding and was sad since he didn’t have another guinea pig with him the class would never quite down so I just felt so bad him
Even though you're making some extremely valid points, just looking at them eating and running about is enough for me to never want to be without them, lol! I have 6, and I just love them so much! When I think of ever not having my fur babies, my wheeking, darling fur babies, it's just not an option! I don't care about a vacation, I have already seen some places, and I know if I ever really want to go away, I can make arrangements. I am a home body, I love being indoors for the most part, and just doing simple things, so they fit my life style just fine!
Well that’s too bad because I JUST GOT MY GUINEA PUGS TODAY AND IM SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!! facts: Their names are Eddie and Baxter, boys, Baxter is a long haired guinea pig with two colors, tan and white. Eddie is a short hair (normal) guinea pig and the color copper and a rosette on his head
I miss that noise so much. We had 2 piggies (Marge and Lumpy) amazing little creatures. Luckily they never got ill. They died of old age which was heartbreaking. Love your little piggies.
I love my two piggies so much! The benefits outweigh the costs for me, even if one piggie of mine doesn’t like being pet that much. A plus is you can always encourage them to be more social with you through treating them when they approach you. The trick is to let this be voluntary for them. Get a towel and show them treats and let them walk from their cage into your lap at their own accord. That’s what’s been working for me, anyway.
Thanks for the advice! I have 7 week old brothers that I've been trying to bond with & get to know. I've had them for three weeks now. They are coming around slowly.
You're welcome! 3 years later and my peegs are still my babies! Another thing I have learned is to keep an eye on their weight. Them losing weight when they get sick and that being the only symptom until it gets very serious is no joke. Was clipping my pig Carmen's nails in the winter when I noticed she was much lighter than normal. Took her to the vet. She had bladder stones. If we hadn't caught them while they were small she would have needed surgery.
My boy isn't very vocal at all. He doesn't wheek or coo, although one time he purred when I offered him some lettuce after a break between grocery trips. He popcorns a lot though when I come up to the cage or when I use my "special voice" and he knows I'm talking to him specifically! He was rehomed to me by a coworker who couldn't care for him anymore and I'm really happy he's taken to the change.
Honestly felt like I was being called out when you started talking about how you will take a lot of photos and will feel the need to tell everyone about how cute they are 😂
You are very right on the emotional toll part. I've said goodbye to 9 piggies now and it never gets easier. Some go after a full life like my 8 yo sow and others are like my 2 yo sow who died suddenly last year. They give me so much.
Thanks for taking time to post those very informative videos. Your piggies are of course insanely cute but they look super happy too. Me and my girlfriend bought a Guinea pig (Female piggy, her name is Mango!) in a quite common pet store 3 years ago. We bought her alone because altho we knew it was recommended to have them in pair the store owner convinced us it wasn't necessary (watching your videos made me realize it wasn't the case... abit late unfortunately). Sadly me and my girlfriend broke up and I decided to move back to my home country. She kept Mango. No need to mention that leaving my lovely pet broke my heart. I never thought I would get so attached to such a lovely little creature but she truely was one of the happiest parts of my day. As I work from home I she had all my attention and we spent so much time together. I like to think we really bonded. Anyway here I am, 6-7 months later thinking about getting my own guinea pig. I know me and my ex made some mistakes with how we took care of our piggy but she seemed very happy and the Vet checkups were positiv. Mango was happy and healthy and hopefully she still is. I'm not sure if I want to or if I am ready to adopt a pair of Guinea pigs but if I do I will make sure I follow your advices. Thanks again for sharing your insights.
I really needed this video ❤ the only one of the ten that's making me second guess getting a Guinea pig is the 9th (I think) where you said they may not like to cuddle😭
they love to love like any animal. it is less about the piggy and more about the trush you inspire in them. when they feel they can trust you they are as cuddly and affectionate as any other animal. they bond to you as you do to them. my girls sit on my lap and watch tv with me while i brush their hair. they will look up to me with total love because they trust and love me.
That reason had me too!! I love cuddling adorable beans 😭 If you do get guinea pigs you could try to find really tame ones that are comfortable being handled or at least petted
i had two guinea pigs and one pig turned out to have a bulge on her neck, and her side. we took her to the vet and it ended up in 2 surgeries, about $200-$300. years later she died peacefully sleeping. i miss her, but recently we got a new baby piggy and also recently introduced my 7 year old pig with my 5 month old pig and they hit it off perfectly. thank you for helping me with them.
I had 2 guinea pigs growing up. Our second one was super awesome and would actually let us know when he had to go to the bathroom (pee) so we could put him back in his cage. My main reason why i never got another one is they only live for 5 years. I get emotionally attached to animals, so the short life span made me not want to get another one.
About the vacation one, we have some friends who have guinea pigs. In the summer one of us goes on holiday and the other looks after their guinea pigs while there gone; when they get back we give them our guinea pigs to look after.
I've had guinea pigs for years now and it's true they need loads of care but i love my little butt munches. I've lost a couple and that's really hard but every time I rustle a bag and they start squeaking their little heads off I fall even more in love with them.
You are so right... Had Guinea pigs for all my life time and last year all 4 of them died because they had such a strong connectivity that nobody could live without the outhers. So in 8 months they all died one by one and now 1 year after i could cry everyday because of that. We were so close, they lived free in my room and theire cage was near my bed so i always heard their noises by falling asleep. I miss them so much 💔💙💚💛💜
Your guinea pigs are so cute! I used to have a guinea pig but he died in 2016, but I do have three rabbits and this relates to them too! Except for the fact that they don’t make noise. The weird thing is that my guinea pig (Chico) didn’t make any noise at all. But then again back then I had no idea how to take care of him. Chico passed away at the age of five, he went through three other homes before he came to us. He was around five or six years old
Their is a bowl on ebay called Staybowl for small pets its safe and tip proof because the rim on the buttom is completely flat were that cant bumped in to it nocking it over and they come in multiple colors
I had guinea pigs and I can't think of even one reason not to have them. I loved them so much. Some people don't like the fact that you can't open the fridge door, ever, without setting them off. My guinea pigs never associated the fridge with eating because I would get the fruit and veggies out of the fridge 15 or 20 minutes before giving them snacks. Then I would say, " Boys! I got you something!" and they would run to the side of the cage, making little chortling sounds, standing on their hind legs and waiting for me to bring it. I loved them so much.
So true, but I miss my babies so much and would go through it all over again 😭 I'm not ready to get piggies again yet so I watch your videos to fill the void
A couple days ago mine started screaming at me at 2:30 in the morning and wouldn't shut up so I slept in the front room. They have food, water, a clean cage, everything. I don't want them(my sister bought them but she moved) but I have to take care of them, and although they might work for you, before you get them, make sure you won't ever have to dump them on someone.
If you’re reading this & have children, you could just get a puppy or rescue an older dog (or cat) & I feel overall, your life might be easier, depending on the breed. Loved my trio, now down to 1 left in almost 5 yrs time, but I have to admit that the costs involved & hay mess are the 2 brutally honest factors to think twice about. And I can say this because we have an 11 wk old puppy. ♥️ (Vet costs, round the clock syringe feedings, allergies from Timothy Hay...better w/ Oxbow Orchard grass hay tho, the many tears & fears of losing my babies, my child growing up & not as helpful w/ cage cleaning or having to remind her to hold the pig(s)...)
2:16 wow! It made my piggies so excited! I was sure they don't care about sounds from videos (as I'm playing pigs noises kinda often) but this time they woke up suddenly, keeping heads high, trying to smell something :D Were they trying to smell pig or food? No idea :P
Ok I don't know whether to feel bad or not I may have given my guinea pig a ponytail, It was so cute tho 🤯 Don't worry I took it out and she didn't really mind
10 reasons not to get guinea pigs 10. You won’t stop saying aw 9. You won’t stop saying aw 8. You won’t stop saying aw 7. You won’t stop saying aw 6. You won’t stop saying aw 5. You won’t stop saying aw 4. You won’t stop saying aw 3. You won’t stop saying aw 2. You won’t stop saying aw 1. You won’t stop saying aw
Okay #1. I never took my guinea pig to the vet he is perfectly healthy. #2 I go camping in the summer and leave my guinea pig at home for a few nights, just clean the cage before you leave and put lots of food
On a Sunday One of my Piggies started breathing heavily so I kept an eye on her. It got progressively worse over the night and I realised if I did not do anything she would die. At 04.30 on a Monday we found a 24 hour vet and we raced to get her there. The vet was brilliant and she had Pneumonia and put her in an oxygen tent. Before he did anything he had to ask us if we wanted to pay the fee to save her and the price was £750. There was no question, save her! We came back at 08.00 next morning and she was fine though still it was touch and go if she would recover. She did and now 2 years latter my bond with her is second to none. when I hold Minsky she will curl up and go to sleep, she totally trusts me. If I had not stayed up all night looking after her she would of died and she seems to know that and totally trusts me enough to go to sleep on my belly when I hold her. Do not get an Guinea Pig if your not willing to pay for expensive medical fees if they get ill. Who are you to decide wither they live or die. If you can then you will have a wonderful relationship with an animal that is second to none.
Not all guinea pigs have to live in twos- I adopted two piggies together (brothers) and they hated each other- they constantly fought and in the end one of them died of some sort of organ failure, I’m convinced it was somewhat due to their fighting too. While both were alive, they were incredibly feral, they hated being touched and when they were in the middle of a fight one of them bit my mum really hard and she had to go to A&E 😂. After one of them died (both two years old at the time) the piggie that was left became a lot happier and a lot more tame and lived to a good age of 6. He died in December, bless your little heart Billy 💕 (you can see him in my profile picture!)
Me and my brother are getting some by the end of this month. I’m re arranging my big room so their cage can be in my room! I’m getting a little drawers to store their hay and bedding and whatever else! We are going to keep them in my room because we have DOGS. Not nice ones and my dogs aren’t allowed in my room since I don’t want them in my room. You’re channel is helping. A L O T.
1345 pictures!! LOL so true!! I ran out of space on my phone and had to dump over 500 pics and about 100 short video clips to my computer!! Good video!
Glad you made this. It will be helpful for people searching for piggy info. Important that peeps realize what sort of commitment cavys are. I shudder at the thought of unattentive owners that do not check their pigs carefully for injuries or their teeth and gums every other day.
love this video!! In the winter and summer my family gets free lettuce from our neighbor in the summer and from our local grocery store in the winter. scenes we have a tortoise, our grocery store lets us take the trimmings from the lettuce for free. I have a guinea pig named Nibbles and I am getting another one soon so Nibbles will have a friend!
I have a guinypig called truffles and he is so lovely and sweet he is my sole mate truffles used to have company his name was fudge but sadly he passed away last October and he is still my sole mate from above r.i.p fudge I love you ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏
I adopted our guinea pigs from a pet shop as no one has bought them. Neither one likes being held, but they do like to eat out of your hands. Got them a three tier cage with hidey holes so they have space when we are at work/school.
I've got hamsters yet one has a tumer and my other one is really old. Yet when they pass away I will sell their cages and toys and save my Christmas money and my pocket money for a lil piggy. My best friend has guinea pigs and she is a huge animal lover and would definitely say yes to taking care of it like I would the same for her. I really love and trust your channel💗
I had a piggie who was alone all her life ( of course I didn’t agree with it) but once I got her ( got her from someone else) I wasn’t able to get another one for her so she was alone. But she was the HAPPIEST piggie I have ever seen, she was very content with just me and we bonded very well, so at some point I started to believe they don’t always need a companion. She sadly died of old age a few years ago but she was a very content piggie by herself. And now I have my Harley and he’s also alone ( I do plan on getting more at some point when I have a bigger living area) but he is content on being alone right now as I spend time with him ALOT

Mine started between 3-4 am 😑
Mine goes off whenever you're out of your room, she hears your footsteps and is like THE HUMANS HAVE AWOKEN, CALL FOR FOOD
In my opinion:
Every pet costs time, money, space, care etc.
Just be prepared, make sure you can give them what they need and if you think you can't; don't buy pets.

I have been keeping guinea pigs since I was 10 years old and I am now 60! So that's half a century of guinea pig keeping and yes, lots and lots of photographs!.
Debbie Brett usually when u get one how long does it take before it slows u to touch it
I think it is best not to pick up a guinea pig on the day you get it. Let it have a quiet time in its hutch, with some nice food. Then, the next day, you can gently put your hand in the hutch so that it can get the scent of you, and later on, try stroking the guinea pig and then gently picking it up.
Debbie Brett it’s been 4months I hand feed him I talk to him and he won’t let me touch him at all
Some guinea pigs are just very timid. I have several, and there is one who just does not like being picked up at all. But once I have managed to pick him up, he is fine, and will sit happily on my lap, eating treats and being stroked. Is your guinea pig the only one or have you got others?
I'm thinking of gettin guenia pig but i will buy only 1 should I do it?
Kreemy Gutierrez thanks for sharing your story. I’m so glad you did the right thing for that piggy!
I spent the whole video reading this 😂
Kreemy Gutierrez you are an angel 💗
I started watching her videos because my daughter wanted guinea pigs. It was what I learned on this channel that changed her mind. Particularly when my wife agreed with me the only place where we could have a large enough enclosure for multiple piggies was where the dvd rack was. My daughter wanted a pet for her room and ended up with fish. Yet I’m still watching these updates
You are and Saint and this person is a selfish person. I hope piggie is happy now.
I always get sad when I think about the eventual death of my babies😭 the fact that they won't be there forever is the worst part about having pets for me.
atroubledpath same 😭😭
I keep having dreams of my guinea pigs dying...I always wake up to check on them. I love them so much and my dog died in June so I don't want my 3-year-old piggy dying a few months later...😭😭😭
this is so true
Wolfysunflowers Don’t worry, they can live for up to 10 years and sometimes they live into their teens.
i’m on my 3rd pair of guinea pigs , i first had 2 when i was 3-4 , then in 2015 i got 3 the last one died in summer last year, around 5 weeks ago i got some new ones, the deaths don’t get easier but if you spend lots of time with them and you treasure every day you have with them it does get easier but it’s still never easy, my guinea pig that died last summer died from seizures but i didn’t find the death as hard as the rest of mine because she was old and i knew she was going to die, but when they die when they are quite young is the saddest. okay bye story time that no one asked for is over!
True, but you get cuteness as a reward :)

04:00 Caring for a sick pet takes energy, but the bond you create is priceless and being the one to ease their suffering is an honor and privilege.
Love your channel 💕

You're such a good mommy! 😍🤗

Can relate so much, im not allowed to turn around on my bed because my guinea pig is going to scream at me to give her food (at 5 am :' (
TheTrueYami luckily mine are just 2 month old. They don’t need medical help yet. But I had a big boy. He lived 7 or 8 years ❤️

It's great to have this channel as a resource for info and cuteness!

my piggis loved being patted and made of. they would sit on my lap and watch tv while i brushed them. they are extremely affectionate.
Thank you I realized guinea pigs are not for me since I’m a kid and they need so much maintenance

Congrats!! Make sure you do a ton of research, good luck with your new pigs! : )
Yaaaaay!!!
I had my first piggy at 19. Every time I spent without piggies, there was a huge hole in my life. Guinea pigs are highly addictive.
They're like potato chips, can't just have one.
"you will be that person who shows their guinea pigs to everyone" I literally did this last night lol
I just started to watch you again and I'm happy to know that selvester is still here!
I love cuddling adorable beans 😭
If you do get guinea pigs you could try to find really tame ones that are comfortable being handled or at least petted
i had two guinea pigs and one pig turned out to have a bulge on her neck, and her side. we took her to the vet and it ended up in 2 surgeries, about $200-$300. years later she died peacefully sleeping. i miss her, but recently we got a new baby piggy and also recently introduced my 7 year old pig with my 5 month old pig and they hit it off perfectly. thank you for helping me with them.
Haha love this video 😄 especially the part with the pics (or pigs) on your phone made me laugh out loud!
I've watched so many of these videos and I realized I wasn't the best mom for my piggy 😭 I was young though and he lived a happy life I hope ❤
I had a guinea pig for that long that I can literally make a guinea pig sound!
Lol my dog was right next to me when they started weeking and just jumped up
About the vacation one, we have some friends who have guinea pigs. In the summer one of us goes on holiday and the other looks after their guinea pigs while there gone; when they get back we give them our guinea pigs to look after.
Thank you for this ❤ Most people have no idea how much effort it takes to take care of them and end up neglecting them because it is a lot of work
I've had guinea pigs for years now and it's true they need loads of care but i love my little butt munches. I've lost a couple and that's really hard but every time I rustle a bag and they start squeaking their little heads off I fall even more in love with them.
I missed my guinea pig he died last week 😟😭😭😭

You are so right... Had Guinea pigs for all my life time and last year all 4 of them died because they had such a strong connectivity that nobody could live without the outhers. So in 8 months they all died one by one and now 1 year after i could cry everyday because of that. We were so close, they lived free in my room and theire cage was near my bed so i always heard their noises by falling asleep. I miss them so much 💔💙💚💛💜
Hi I don’t need to go to the vet for my 2 guinea pigs m mums a vet
I luv your UA-cam so much and watching ur guineas
Thank u for making me happy

Do they make noise at night I'm scared of thta
Your guinea pigs are so cute! I used to have a guinea pig but he died in 2016, but I do have three rabbits and this relates to them too! Except for the fact that they don’t make noise. The weird thing is that my guinea pig (Chico) didn’t make any noise at all. But then again back then I had no idea how to take care of him. Chico passed away at the age of five, he went through three other homes before he came to us. He was around five or six years old
This is true but you get their cuteness and love as a reward🥰
Thank you for sharing your knowledge of love of piggies. Your videos are always entertaining and helpful.
Do guinea pigs eat hay/food off the ground of the cage “mine always flip the bowl”
Same lol
yes. You also can make a hay hopper =)
Mine tear the hay out of the holder so it goes on the ground. It's like if they can't pee or play in it, they won't eat it.
Their is a bowl on ebay called Staybowl for small pets its safe and tip proof because the rim on the buttom is completely flat were that cant bumped in to it nocking it over and they come in multiple colors
The colors are purple,green,pink,blue,green
Your little zoo looks great!
I wonder if there’s a guinea pig hood 🤔
Forsaken HD yep
A couple days ago mine started screaming at me at 2:30 in the morning and wouldn't shut up so I slept in the front room. They have food, water, a clean cage, everything. I don't want them(my sister bought them but she moved) but I have to take care of them, and although they might work for you, before you get them, make sure you won't ever have to dump them on someone.
I couldn’t imagine life without my pig 😬
when they were squeaking my pig woke up now i have to make her stop screeching at me😭😂
If you’re reading this & have children, you could just get a puppy or rescue an older dog (or cat) & I feel overall, your life might be easier, depending on the breed.
No idea :P
Ok I don't know whether to feel bad or not I may have given my guinea pig a ponytail, It was so cute tho 🤯
Don't worry I took it out and she didn't really mind

If you get a younger guinea pig, will they be more likely to want/allow to be pet?
Slime Time Well my younger guinea pig doesn’t really love to be petted
Growing up my grandma have a pair of guinea pigs (chichi and baet) love them so much, its probably why i grew up loving animals alot
My favorite animal channel
As soon as your pigs started screeching my did too. Now both of them are running around and screaming 😂
People dont realise how much work guinea pigs are and how expensive they are especially when they are in hutches outside and they need wood shavings.
10 reasons not to get guinea pigs ERROR 0 REASONS FOUND
Me and my brother are getting some by the end of this month.
My guniea pigs are my children even though I'm a 11

I adopted our guinea pigs from a pet shop as no one has bought them. Neither one likes being held, but they do like to eat out of your hands. Got them a three tier cage with hidey holes so they have space when we are at work/school.

I've got hamsters yet one has a tumer and my other one is really old. Yet when they pass away I will sell their cages and toys and save my Christmas money and my pocket money for a lil piggy.
My best friend has guinea pigs and she is a huge animal lover and would definitely say yes to taking care of it like I would the same for her.
I really love and trust your channel💗
Please get more than one!!!
I'm preparing for 2 of these piggies, so that's why I'm watching a lot of video of them 🙂
I had a piggie who was alone all her life ( of course I didn’t agree with it) but once I got her ( got her from someone else) I wasn’t able to get another one for her so she was alone.
