Thank you for your continued effort to rescue and care for these guinea pigs. Watching your videos always remind me that guinea pigs are indeed some of the most abandoned pets out there & they do need a lot of our caring and loving.

I'm sure the girls were so relieved when they realized the boys weren't with them. I'm sure it was so stressful having the boys basically on top of them for who knows how long. I'm so happy you were able to save them, and honestly I think it's amazing you have a rescue to work with. People need to understand that while you are amazing with pigs and super knowledgeable, you're just one person. Rescues have multiple people with set resources and deal with adopting out all the time. They have what to do down pat! And as long as the piggies are saved, does it really matter who does it?!?

The way they all started squealing when they realized they had actual food and water, space, and enrichment broke my heart...poor piggies, but I'm so happy that they're happy now...Thank you. I know that work isn't easy and coordinating with others on it can be difficult, but I'm so happy you're there to beat all the challenges that come with rescuing cases like this one!

As a social worker, we were trained to try to find something positive. Sometimes that is extremely difficult. Keep up the good work Austin. The rescue wouldn’t have known about these piggies without you alerting them to it. Don’t let the haters keep you from making a difference.

I have to have respect for the guy who saw these guinea pigs in bad condition with a friend, recognized it, and took initiative to get them a better home. Any animal lover can see that they looked crowded, sick, and unwell, but a guinea pig novice would have no idea what they actually need, so it's just impressive that he took them away from the friend and found them a new home. And shoutout to you and your partner rescue for taking this on as well! It's a win win: the rescue gets promotion and you get to make awesome content!

Sorry in advance for the long post. I lost my lovely Javanais on january 22 and I wanted a new baby guinea pig, because my herd is getting older. There was a baby born at the rescue and I contacted them for adoption. A week before we would pick her up, the rescue send a message she had pneumonia. A day later, the piggy passed away. But they had a 3 year old girl that came from a very bad and long background and the rescue asked me to give her a chance (we did a couple of rescues from them in the past) She had several homes in solitude and her last owner gave her to the rescue with the explanation "We don't like her anymore" . So took on this little girl. She was underweigh, only 700g, but we took her in. She was eating fine and her fur looked healty, but she gained weigh and lost weigh without any reason. So when I had to go to the university clinic with one of my piggies for a check up, I took her along just to make sure. They gave me bad news: she has uterine cancer with metastasis to the bladder. All we can do is give her the best time ever. And we will untill it is time to say goodbye. But seriously, she is the most tame rescue piggy I ever had. Such a bundle of joy and I don't even have to get her out of the cage to give her the pain meds. She just takes it, I will have a hard time when it it time to say goodbye, but even if we are here for them for a short time, we still can make a difference ♥

I feel like the only thing anyone should be concerned about is where your heart lies instead of worrying about this “being more harmful” because I see your heart Austin & you have such a beautiful heart & soul, you go above & beyond for all of these piggies no matter what & I know those who truly support you see that as well. The motivation you have to get up everyday & do what you love to do is honestly so inspiring so keep doing it because it has been amazing to watch your channel & all that you’ve accomplished 🫶🏼💯💛

All this hate over his decision is ridiculous. He needs the capacity to take in more rescues instead of keeping and hoarding every pig. The “harmfulness of sending to rescues” is a weak argument. Obviously if a rescue has full capacity they wouldn’t take any more and they clearly wouldn’t offer to take these 12 pigs. It really makes me think that these haters have a selfish motive of only wanting to see Austin keep the pigs for his channel to see…

Ariel is one heck of a shieldmaiden and warrior! I was almost certain she wouldn't make it, seeing how bad she was the first day - I'm so grateful I was proven wrong.
I wish them all the best and that Fifi and Ariel will go well with the herd. I'm also hoping the unborn ones will be healthy when they come to this world that definitely won't be as gruesome as their mom and dad had to live in.
Ariel has a special place in my heart, her eyes told me more than a thousand words even though she has no idea who I am.
Thank you for doing this, Austin.
And of course, thank you to Porcellus Guinea Pig Rescue for reaching out a helping hand.

Way to go! You are doing so much to help out little Piggys in distress. For me, I have five Piggys myself, three boys and two girls. Point to note, all of them are rescues. A while back I caught on to the fact that rescued Piggys need good homes. Buying them from the store doesn't help as much as it tends to encourage more breeding for profit. To share one of their stories, one of my boys had to be taken into protective custody. He was covered in feces and urine and weighed only around 800 grams when recovered. They nursed him back to health and we adopted him. Now, George is his name, is 5 1/2 years old, lives in a 6' x 2' cage and is buffed out at 1500 grams (has been for a quite while actually.) Keep up the good work!

How could anybody be upset or say it would be worse to turn them over to a rescue. They have he know how to care for them and the ability/ connections to get them adopted out. If they were insinuating u should keep them that would mean u would not be able to help the next ones in need. U getting them also saved them from becoming snake food if they were on Craig’s list. Or from another owner who did not know how to care for them properly. Any way a normal person could look at it it’s a win for the pigs. Leaving you the ability to help the next. I think u said several people were under the impression that it wasn’t good to turn them over to a piggy rescue. Ur doing a great thing for these little beings that need the help. I can’t imagine them all in one cage. Thanku for being u and for doing what u do. ❤

I had two guinea pigs, and one was just recently put down. He got sick, recovered- and then got sick again. The second sickness lasted for over three days before my dad put him down. We cried for hours that night, and multiple times afterward.
Seeing these guinea pigs not have to go through the kind of suffering he did eases my soul, even with entirely different situations... these pigs dealt with being in the same small and decrepit enclosure for so long- and seeing them recover, especially the most unhealthy one and with such a quickness... it warms my heart.

You inspired me to do a rescue of my own recently. I got 2 pigs off of an Australian version of Craigslist. 1 boy and 1 girl that had been living together in a pet store cage. So I immediately thought the girl was pregnant.
Anyways. I picked them up with all their stuff. Only to find that the people’s house smelled amazing, so they had candles or something going. The bedding that the pigs were using was strawberry scented and hay was only used as a treat.
    They also both had mites.
I got them home and separated. They have nice soft fleece and a hay pile each, I named them George and Penelope and penny is definitely pregnant. Due very soon. They are both skin and bones so I have been feeding critical care. But without you I wouldn’t have been inspired to do this and you are amazing for not only helping all the pigs you have physically helped but you are amazing for inspiring people from around the world to do good for our little furry potato friends. The world need more people like you Austin. ❤❤

My partner and I has rats for a number of years, and when our last rat died, we tried to find a local rescue to get some rats. Unfortunately, there was not a rat rescue in our current area, so we got guinea pigs instead. I watched every video I could find to try to give these two boys the best possible care. We have had them for a little over a year now, and we are very fond of them. Our local exotic vet said they are doing well and we are providing everything they need. They are both about two-and-a-half pounds. They have a night cage about 3 by 6 feet, and spend the days in a big pen which takes up most of our front room and has 6 hideys, plus toys, and of course lots of hay and water.

I used to keep *one* young chinchilla in what I think is the double height version of that cage. My chinchilla liked to climb and jump, so he was okay with the 45° ramps, but I feel like piggies wouldn't be too keen on that. To protect his feet we had to put cardboard on all of the mesh floors, we had additional wooden shelves he could sit on too, and he got a daily run outside the cage as well.
Whoever thought of putting guinea pigs in this cage hasn't researched their needs.

when i saw this sick pig it made me remember mine. she had cancer and her last 2 days looked just like her or maybe worse...? she also could't stand straight, few hourse before she died she wasn't able to stand on her little feet. no eating, drinking, moving. that's something i will never forget. it's been a year now and when i think of her i start to cry ALWAYS. she was a lovely pig, really lovely.

Omg they look so much happier! Seeing this kind of condition, makes me so sad because I have two guinea pigs of my own and if anything happened to them, it would be devastating for me and my whole family to see them in such bad condition. I am so glad that you were able to get them help

I had two guineas and the mama past away. Just found a similiar female and they bonded in literally one day. They are both in a 4 foot long two foot wide cage, with another 4 foot long cage and playground coming tomorrow. I can't wait to see them popcorn and do zoomiies. Guineas are fun pets.

I was so lucky to have one piggy for about a week. She was going to a very caring young girl for Christmas. This one piggy was hiding most of the time when I first got her. I found out she loves lettuce. She started getting use to me and would let me know when she wanted something we were having. I couldn't believe she could smell a banana from 6 feet away. I only gave her a small slice but I knew she wanted more. In the end I had a hard time letting her go to her new home. Maybe one day I can get 2 females to come live with us. Thanks for the video.

I liked in this video that you editted the parts where you drove to them and doing the health checks with just music and text in the screen :) And then talked when you did the one in the worst condition! Made it relaxing to watch :).
Thanks again for all your good work and rescueing all these pigs!❤

Austin, you’re an amazing soul. Beautiful inside and out! Don’t let what some have said get you down. I’m working on that with myself in some things. I’m very thankful you know you’re doing such a beautiful thing. Not only are you saving piggies, but bringing little lights to humans, the humans who will adopt him. And not to mention, all who watch your channen! You’re inspiring. God Bless You and all who rescue, and even those who desire too. ❤️
