I really enjoy your videos! I was in the Air Force from 86 - 90. I absolutely loved it. I was stationed at Hanscom AFB in Massachusetts for 2 years and Yokota AFB in Japan. My biggest surprise so far from watching your videos is how darned nice the dorms are. you really are fortunate. keep the videos coming! Thanks, Jeff Oaks
Checking out your videos and came across this one! Ive got a couple questions if you don't mind answering them!? So I read in a different comment that it took you 1 and 1/2 years to get shipped out.. Any idea why it took so long? I am hoping to get shipped by the summer, is that a realistic hope?? Also what job did you get, I would love to go to Elmendorf and was curious if your job helped you get there or if it was just all by chance. Anyways thanks for any info man also anyone else reading this that has info Id love to hear it thanks!
Hi!! I know u posted this video a while ago and probably not in Alaska anymore but can i ask how far is the housing on base from the gym? Thank you! We will be moving there in a couple months and still pretty nervous of everything lol ur videos helps alot!
Erika Smith hey, yeah I'm not stationed there anymore. But base housing is about a 5 minute drive from the gym. Most people drive there, but you could probably walk/run there in the summer months
Most bases I've been to are pretty big, and they're mostly open 24 hrs. So there's no reason why you can't be in shape year round, one, it's essential for your job and personal welfare, two, you're gonna make it easier to do well on your PT test every year. And usually, it's close to DFAC, so after working out, I'll stop by, if you time it right when they serving meals ( breakfast or dinner ), you can chow down, especially where I'm at (MacDill AFB), DFAC and the gym is like 2 or 3 blocks apart; close by each other. It's convenient.
+Young_Welfare That's a good question, I should probably make a video about it. But basically you have to wear a reflective vest (in uniform), with boots, gloves and a helmet. You have to attend this motorcycle safety class, and usually have to speak with your commander about the risks
i wanna join the air force right after i graduate and I'm looking at all the bases i want to be stationed at (this being #2 on my overseas list) and my mom was stationed here for a few years while my grandpa was in! sad though because she was like 10 and doesn't remember much:(
Are there Fitness Trainers at the gym? Like to help achieve body goals? I don't know much about workouts and gains and I doubt Ill find a gym buddy to show me the ropes once I get to a base.
Sorry if I'm not making any sense. I don't know if I can be a fighter pilot without going though college but instead get my degree through the Air Force. Again sorry if I don't make any sense. Thanks.
+WildBlueYonder I thought instead of going thorough a university like University of central Florida to get my college degree I could do it in the Air Force. I'm 15 so I have a couple years to go.
+WildBlueYonder but Like more in depth showing the different section and the food that they offer and stuff like that. Also do you think is possible to practice armed exhibition drill in base. I've been doing it for 2 years now and when I join I'm planning to continue practicing and competing. Thanks for replying greetings from Jersey
Oh I see, and you can practice on your own if you want, but there aren't any armed exhibition teams or competitions like in JROTC and stuff. The only thing close would be to join your base's color guard.

Hey WildBlueYonder what are the rules for motorcycles in the Air Force?
+Young_Welfare That's a good question, I should probably make a video about it. But basically you have to wear a reflective vest (in uniform), with boots, gloves and a helmet. You have to attend this motorcycle safety class, and usually have to speak with your commander about the risks
+WildBlueYonder Thanks appreciate it

Are there Fitness Trainers at the gym? Like to help achieve body goals? I don't know much about workouts and gains and I doubt Ill find a gym buddy to show me the ropes once I get to a base.

+Jake Steele What do you mean by getting your degree through the Air Force?
+WildBlueYonder I thought instead of going thorough a university like University of central Florida to get my college degree I could do it in the Air Force. I'm 15 so I have a couple years to go.
Oh, no. You'll have to still attend a normal college. The Air Force doesn't have a college other than the Air Force Academy
Is this a military base gym ?
+SchmidtGainzFitness Yes this is JBER, Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson
+WildBlueYonder I seen this gym on Klye Gott vlog..lol. love ya...marry me!!!

+WildBlueYonder but Like more in depth showing the different section and the food that they offer and stuff like that. Also do you think is possible to practice armed exhibition drill in base. +WildBlueYonder there's one called World Drill Championships at Daytona beach and also other online competitions.
