Thank you! I am learning about Moshe Feldenkrais through reading about neuroplasticity because of my elite athlete daughter getting suddenly sick with a history of minor sports concussions and ending up going from jogging in the morning to suddenly in a wheelchair in the afternoon because something happened to her nervous system and it shut her body down. BP of 80/50, paralysis, stroke-like symptoms. About a year and a half later with PT, OT, and ST, she is almost all better now running again, but still struggling with climbing stairs and using her dominant right hand for writing and piano playing plus some dysautonomia. I watched Ido Portal after finding him through searching for Moshe Feldenkrais and he is wonderful. Now we found you from your helpful comments. I hope you continue to make videos. This information is not well known, but has the potential to help everyone!!! Do you have any Feldenkrais method ideas for hand movements and climbing stairs movements? Prayers and gratefulness.
Dear Christine, thank you so much for sharing your story♥️. There is a lesson that is usually called „The Dominant Hand“ but I have only recorded it in German so far. I will certainly keep making new videos, but currently on an irregular basis. Right now I can offer you 2 ways to help: We could schedule a 1:1 session and I can guide your daughter through a movement lesson tailored to her needs or show you how you can perform some basic hands on work to support her feldenkraismethod.teachable.com/p/private-1-on-1-coaching Or a cheaper option would be to sign up for one of my very affordable online courses. I have one class on shoulder movements that could be beneficial to your daughter, because to move the hand freely we first need to be able to move the shoulder and the arm www.udemy.com/course/feldenkrais-for-shoulder-pain-learn-to-move-better/?referralCode=E3487D7D98636DAF3C63 Here is a free Lesson for hands and wrists by Feldenkrais Trainer David ua-cam.com/video/SLC033qinDE/v-deo.html I hope this helps. How old is your daughter? Regards, Jakob
@@feldenkrais-jakobpuchmayr Thank you very much, Jakob! We are very excited to look into your courses and then possibly the online coaching! She is 20, but was 18 when this first happened (November 2021).
Dear Christine, the good thing is that your daughter has a long life of learning ahead. I was also fortunate enough to discover Feldenkrais at the age of 20 and I can keep practicing and improving for many more years. Quite often bad life circumstances lead us to looking for new ways of healing and improvement and if we make it through these challenges we become more self-aware and this remains for the rest of our life. So I wish you and your daughter lots of success. In fact she has come very far in that short period of time😊
@@feldenkrais-jakobpuchmayr Agreed and thank you! The improvements she is experiencing are multiplying. We're seeing a visual component as well and it reminds me of the way Moshe Feldenkrais had people focusing on their hand while moving it slowly. The fixation and saccades seem to play a major role in the central nervous system's abilities along with the vestibular system. This experience leads me to think that the brain can be short circuited (overloaded) and at times in need of recalibration. I'm reminded of how a printer needs to be recalibrated (aligned) after the ink is changed. The "grounding" and the "somatics" that Moshe Feldenkrais initiated for the body and mind make perfect sense in helping the systems heal. We're grateful to have found you and that you are continuing Feldenkrais' great works! :)
Dear Luyz. I am currently working on a new Feldenkrais online course (I will share another free lesson, when it‘s published) I am also in the process of moving to a new home and renovating it, so I will post new videos only once in a while. Regards, Jakob
Looking forward to the rise of this epic channel!
Thanks a lot ;)
