- A new Star Wars series, set in a new era, made by people whom I'm sure have heard about Star Wars from a friend at one point in time. Here are my thoughts on Episodes 1 & 2 of STAR WARS: THE ACOLYTE!!

Almost 10 years ago we had Jeremy in his Star Wars cape excited to watch the teaser trailer for Episode 7 and now we have him dressing for funerals with a glass of booze
That’s the power of destruction KK has done. Truely ruined a legacy franchise
I was thinking about this aswell. We were all so excited, so full of... hope.
That's what corporate greed with no plan does to a franchise

"I think the CW would have done that better". That's probably the most brutal take I have heard so far.
Hey man…I liked Arrow. 🤣🤣🤣 the flash was good for two seasons then inexplicably drove off a cliff
I liked Smallville early seasons
Arrow and Flash were good for about 3 seasons maybe 4
It’s dogshit
Have you watched the last two seasons of Smallville? If not, watch them! I was the same. Loved the early seasons but the middle seasons sucked so bad I stopped watching. Sometime said it gets good again at the end, so I tried, and holy shit it does! It's not ground breaking or the best ever. But if you liked Smallville and just want to watch some good episodes, watch the last season. The last two seasons are good, but if you're really over Smallville then just watch the last season.
It's the best send off of the series, and it you once liked it you deserve to see the series end right. Please watch it.
A person said the same to me, so now I'm saying it to someone else. And when you enjoy it, carry forward the message.

Nobody on this planet can convince me that Lucasfilm and Disney aren't money laundering before both go completely bankrupt
The quality of CG and practical fx in Dune and Furiosa with half the budget of SW and MCU make me think the same. If they can make it look real for even less, while having prestigious actors, then that shows the budget isn't being used properly
It's probably more likely that the disparity between senior members of staff and the workforce is so great it's just leading to massive inefficiency.
I spoke to a game dev yesterday and he was saying how the bigger the corporations were becoming the more politics became enlarged. So you've just got higher ups saying "make it happen" and just keep throwing money at it whilst not addressing the underlying issue. I imagine the people who actually create are massively under the thumb of the execs: they either hire people who are young but easy to push around or squash anything risky due to the now clearly incompetent risk averse system they have put it in place over the years.
It's not even just a lack of budget. It's that the creators seem to have no idea what to do with this budget. There's just a lack of skill in front of and behind the camera. The sets look fake, the cinematography is just lazy, and the acting and plot aren't good enough to distract you from the technical issues.
A New Hope on a technical level had way more limitations than anything Disney has put out, but it worked with those limitations infinitely better. The locations were well thought out They established scale with mat paintings, so you got a sense of size, even in small sets. Most notably, you cared about the plot and characters. Do things look dated by todays standards? Definitely, but you're interested enough that you don't even care. Flashy special effects will always look dated later. A good story is always timeless.

Its both sad and nice to appreciate that integrity, sad because its so rare that a person of your fame/following retains their individual spirit and ability to think for themselves, and refreshing for the same reason. Itd be nice if everyone was as honest, but hey, people are stupid in general and most will take the path of least resisitance.
Disney‘s handling of Star Wars is basically a Weekend at Bernie‘s right now…
Ha,great analogy.
Imagine if Darth Vader had his lightsaber ignite at every scene he was on every one of the OG Star Wars movies.
Somewhat amusing to imagine, especially if Palp eventually asks, “Why the f*** do you ignite your lightsaber every time you speak, Anakin?!?!”
That Shatner jump cut made me laugh way harder than it should have😂bravo

Incredible 😂
Yet here he is making clickbait videos to get paid.
So, he DOES care, about himself.
@@Shorty_Lickens I don’t think it’s click bait though, the thumbnail is exactly like his reaction in the video. It’s a very honest thumbnail, not click bait haha
@@houstonlamb4477 OK, you just assumed something. And you were wrong.
I said nothing about the thumbnail. Not a thing.
The entire video is clickbait not the least of which are the keywords content creators use to get UA-cam to recommend things. And I think UA-cam must be helping this guy out cuz I have zero interest in anything Acolyte related and never searched for it. I been watching mostly stuff like Best of the Worst and cat vids.
@@Shorty_Lickens but if you aren’t interested, why click on the video and comment on it? All that’s going to do is make the algorithm recommend more videos of his and more videos about the acolyte to you
@@houstonlamb4477 See? You see what you did there?
No. You dont. Because you arent very bright and cannot use critical thinking skills. You did what most people do nowadays when they argue. You made an assumption, without asking any questions, and then proceeded to debate based on that assumption.
Go back and read what I said. Then go back and read your first sentence. And stop and actually think about where you went wrong.
Go ahead. I'll wait patiently. I have work to do but will check back every once in a while to see if you got it or didnt get it.
"But if you can't look and see that Anakin blowing up the Death Star."
Well no I actually can't, because he ain't the one blew it up.

"Just because Lucasfilm is allergic to making money doesn't mean I need to be" I fucking died lmao
Here after watching episode 3 and yes it does get worse... lol
When Jeremy reviews a bad movie or TV show, he becomes a gentleman.
The excitement I feel for Disney Star Wars is equivalent to discovering I need root canal surgery... I still love the original trilogy.
finally a reviewer who isnt afraid to tell the truth.
jeremy is pretty unbiased it’s refreshing
My God you finally groomed yourself after 7 years. Looking good again my guy!
Seeing Jeremy now makes me realize how crazy that Covid look he had was lol. Looks 15 years younger here
Depression does that....
"It looks like a PS1 shot" is my favourite way of describing bad CGI. I'm glad Jeremy also describes CGI like that
Ps1 rocked.
PS1 was great for its time now it is shameful to have graphics that look like they came from 20 years ago...
I don't understand what he meant because the shot honestly looks fine
I understand what he means by a PS1 shot but it is doing the PS1 a disservice. The PS1 was a powerhouse for its time. It might very well be the best videogame system I've ever owned. I still play PS1 games in 4K emulation with better graphics despite owning the original system (which still works by the way) and games. Definitely what we see in the Acolyte is sloppy CGI, without the care and love of its creators. There are buildings in this version of Coruscan't which are just copy and paste, scaled, enlarged, shrinked... The best games on the PS1 were pushing the limits of that incredible little system and what could be done AT THE TIME, with love, incredible programming and mad skills. The graphics couldn't be improved because of its technology and system limitations. The shit we saw on Acolyte shouldn't be acceptable 20 years ago... Today? Ha...
@@Dopteros Yup. It looks fine. There's space below the temple, actual trees still growing at that level, and clearly plenty of space for new buildings to be constructed WITHIN THE NEXT 100 YEARS. God, I'm sick of people with platforms complaining about artists not spending time or not caring about what they work on while they themselves have elected to avoid any work themselves. I unsubbed years ago for a reason, I guess...
Some heroes don’t wear capes 🫡 thanks Jeremy. Thank you for watching the Acolyte so I didn’t have to
As a gamer, we've gotten an abundance of high republic content the past 20 years and even lore before the era. So, having a tv show about it was a bit refreshing. Seems more like critics are the ones "lacking" the lore knowledge... which is god dang shame, respectfully.
But… there’s always been fire in space… ever since the original trilogy there was fire in space…
As someone who lived for STAR WARS, as someone who spent hundreeds or thousands of dollars per year on STAR WARS toys, merch and more, I can't believe what they did that I don't care about anything STAR WARS anymore for the last 7 years. I watched everything in hope it will be better, but franchise was already dead from sequel trilogy, because they had no plan at all.
If producers don't care about STAR WARS why should we???
Oh they care...about pushing their woke @$$ agenda
@@AlphaTrion92 yep they can destroy what is made before all the books, comics
May, I ask what specificly they did that was upsetting?
