If Coppola went that far to get this film made, the least I can do is see it in the theater.
I agree, looks like a valuable piece of cinema. Can't wait to see my first Francis Ford Coppola film in theatres!

@samrunsads I heard it's comically terrible, but I want to see it to believe it

They really putting Giancarlo Esposito in everything these days. Not complaining, but damn! His manager must be amazing

It's a cautionary tale. It's where we as an American empire are headed, how we're falling.
Sorry, buddy, we've arrived.
We heeere
@@151Phacewell, we are definitely already to the point of no return along the path of imperial decline, but we haven't hit bottom quite yet. Sadly, that'll take a good while still, and cause alot of horrible suffering along the way. Especially since, as with any dying empire, there's no chance in hell we'll be taking anything remotely like a dignified exit. The machinations of our government, and economy will go down lashing out at everything in sight, gnashing their teeth, and wreaking as much havoc as possible before fully losing their global hegemony. I fully expect it to be some truly apocalyptic shit. Would love to be proven wrong, but there's far too much history to look back on, and learn from for me to expect anything less.
@@burninsherman1037 Either Islam takes over or Christianity does. Empire nothing. People go on. If it's islam we're in for starving and theocratic totalitarianism. If it's christian we're in for a stricter version of classical liberalism... maybe. No drag queen in every classroom anymore.
It's not going to be taken over by an abrahamic religion. The W E F plan (of world leaders, not the installed puppets) is to fuse all religions and have all world religion. Which is some new age spirituality, but in actuality it is s a t a n i s m disguised as spirituality.

I hope Coppola isn’t missing that $120 million, cause he’s definitely never getting that back 💸
He’ll probably make three times that back from this movie alone, let alone all he gets from his other stuff
@@FIoridaMilkManyou're out of your tree. This movie is gonna tank. It'd have to make 3-4 times its budget just for him to recoup his money. Plus because it's been so ill-received, Lionsgate just announced they won't spend the money on marketing and. Coppola has to come out of pocket another 20-25 million for marketing. Egomaniacs sometimes just can't let things go. I just hope this turd doesn't become what he's remembered for in the years to come.
@@JohnnyNiteTrain Its going to easily make enough to recoup his losses, you just want something to blindly hate on for no reason
I am STILL waiting for someone, anyone, to explain what the hell is this movie about? All everyone talks about is the huge budget and how it’s his “passion project”, but no one talks about what the movie is about.
Every synopsis I’ve read put me to sleep. It follows Adam Driver’s character. He can control time. And tries to fix a decaying city.
Same! Looks like people are more interested in dropping names than explains wtf the movie is about lol
No one knows wtf the movie is about. It’s very vague. A character in a post-apocalyptic world controls time…???
I just watched it at Sydney Film Festival and I still don't know what it's about 😂 It's very arthouse and has several different plots going on all at the same time.
If I had to try and explain it, I'd say It's about the collapse of ancient rome and how America is also on the same path. It's about society and how everyone interacts with each other. It's about governments and how they rule over people.... It's a very unique film, there's never been one like it before and there will never be one like it in the future. If you see it, you'll understand.
Bruh you waited since the 80s and casted Aubrey Plaza, I’ll pass
Sometimes all the stories about the movie are just part of the marketing strategy. Nobody knows if they are really true. But they create fuzz about it. That's how they trick you to do what they want 😎
As if coppola didn't ruin his legacy after the Godfather III must be an humilliation ritual
They will not divide us.
I must’ve missed the news where Pattinson got replaced with Shia
I never knew Pattinson was attached 🤯

It got a crazy standing ovation when it premiered. I as afraid for it.
Big fan of Cinema! and SciFi!
Never would heard of this film if it's not written/directed by FF. Copolla
Coppola was on fire in the 70s
Shia and Aubrey at this point deserve their Oscar nom! Hope this is the time!
This film looks really interesting, it certainly got me intrigued with that teaser trailer.!, I'll be seeing it.!
That cast... some of the most unexpected stuff I can imagine. Like putting names in a yatzee cup and seeing who comes out and making a huge film with them.
😂😂😂😂
But no Nicholas Cage?
@@SY-ok2dqeveryone would say it’s nepotism since Nic is FFC’s nephew (or maybe he was busy)
@@calisha1889 Nah it's well known that Nicholas is the nephew of F.F.C. and Talia Shire. And cousin to Sophia Coppola and Jason Schwartzman (Talia's son).
Anyway Cage starred in the Coppola-directed 1987 film "Peggy Sue Got Married." That film was quite a big box office hit for F.F.C. so a lot of people saw it, and it was reviewed and covered by the media - and a lot og them probably mentioned the family connection.
I think it's that Cage has turned down a lot of his uncle's offers. He rejected the role in Peggy Sue quite a few times before finally agreeing - on the condition that he could play the role any way he wanted to.
@@calisha1889 Cage has won an Oscar and was a big name A-list star so people won't think it's nepotism. A lot of moviegoers thinks he's a very talented actor and has earned his status as a star regardless of his famous family.
"and three" 😂
Never let anyone know what your thinking.
HE SOLD HIS WINE VINEYARD TO MAKE THIS MOVIE...😮
Heavy Hitters in the cast
The fact we only attribute four films to Coppola name and three bare the same title basically, is not very compelling for a renowned legendary status
Would be so if not for the fact that 3 of those consistently rank among the 10 best US films of all time
That's because he's never been able to make a movie better than those
@@jawarholol4651 agreed
Rumble fish
Fun fact! Jason Schwartzman is the son of Talia Shire and she is the sister of Francis Ford Coppola and they’re both the uncles to Nicolas Cage!
🎯
Nepotism at its finest 👏🏽
I feel like there's a person name Sofia that didn't make this list...
@@Realmichaelphoenix Every Coppola film is a family affair. His kids had roles as extras and so on, in thr Godfather films etc. Sofia Coppola was the baby getting christened I believe. Sofia had roles in multiple films as a kid, and even co-wrote the story for Coppola's segment of the portmanteau film "New York Stories". His sons worked behinf the scenes, assistants and unit directors etc.
And the iconic film score was provided by his father, music composer Carmine Coppola. Talent flows like wine in the Coppola family.
You mean Talia Shire is Cage's aunt. Not uncle. Schwartzman is Cage's (Nicholas Coppola) cousin.
Please let this be real. You had me at Shia. LOL
Yeeeesss!!! Can’t keep a good man down!! They keep trying to push Shia out of the spotlight but he’s just too good! GET EM!!!!

I cannot wait, like for real.
I want to see this movie. I hope it finds a distributor.
It will for sure. It may be coppolas last, it'll get to theaters
No way it wouldn't.
@@Ryan-Petre the early reports are not great. Studio heads are not willing to take the gamble on putting this movie out there and Coppola is asking for 100 mill in marketing and publishing because that’s what he spent on it. That’s a lot of money for a filmmaker who has failed studios (and himself) big time in the past. It premiers at Cannes this month so we’ll see how the audience reception is there, and then it may push studios to buy in, or it may reinforce their decision to stay out.

All of it 📉
People complain about cancel culture all of the time but the fact that Shia is still getting big jobs is proof enough that its not a big deal
Hes a leftist
@@user-hq3rz3jx7gWhat does that have to do with anything
I dunno, this was funded by Coppola himself, so it’s not like a studio was betting on him. Coppola had full reign to hire whoever he wanted. It’s no surprise that Shia hasn’t been in anything but tiny indie movies the past few years.
I strongly suspect that this movie will be a bomb in the range of 120 million megatons of TNT. Don't get me wrong...I love my grandkid's art. But no one is going to pay me to see it.
Remember when he let Sophia act in Godfather 3? Pepperidge Farms remembers. I think this is gonna be that x20, what with Shia in drag.
No out of control budget. Coppola had the fund the movie himself. Long live Francis Ford Coppola.
Mr Coppola wanted to direct/write a movie that reflects sciety in America today, with what happened in Rome at its downfall. I can't wait for this movie to come out.
Being a bomb and not being good are two different things, the public being the swine that they are.
@@tomallen5837Coppola has always been notorious for going way way way over shooting schedule and way way way over budget. All the way back to Apocalypse Now.
It's more noteworthy when Coppola comes in on schedule and budget 😆
@@SY-ok2dq Point well taken but he funded the movie himself. That's all I was writing about

More like Finewoman am I right, fellas
This shit is gonna tank too. 😅😅😅
I froze the screen to make sure it was him. I had no idea he was in this.
I would be more hyped if my dude the one and only Nickolas Cage was in it.
Cage has rarely appeared in a Coppola film. I can't think of any aside from "Rumblefish" back in the 80s before Cage was a big name.
EDIT: oops! Forgot all about "Peggy Sue Got Married"!
Coppola was just the director. He wasn't involved in the writing or development. And it doesn't seem like a Coppola film. But it was pretty successful financially and critically, which was good for Coppola at that point in his career in the 80s.
@@SY-ok2dq I recently saw Rumble Fish for the first time. Good flick. I thought it was interesting how Nick got the girl in the end. I love the fact that Cage is a " Working Actor". He seems to be in ten movies a year and they aren't bad. He actually played in one of my favorite Lovecraft stories.
@@KensN2History He's got all those debts to pay!
Apparently he's planning to retire soon though.
@@SY-ok2dq wow I hate to hear that.
I KNOW they won't screw this one up
Yeah ok 🙄
If Shia is in it than it's fkn great
Saying it’s the biggest movie of 2024 while knowing Dune 2 came out this year is crazy lmao
When I made this video Dune 2 was set to come out Fall 2023. Then it moved to Spring 2024 when the Hollywood strikes hit.
The original cast was mental like 5 20 million a film movie stars
I might be in love with Natalie Emmanuel.
Cuando sale??
Jason Schwartzman too. Obviously a mild family affair of a sort. If you enjoy good cinema you would at least be interested. Coppola? Good cast. So yeah I will take a look. Last film he made that was "out of control"? Apocalypse Now I think
Coppola has always had family involved. Even roles like extras (Sofia was the baby that got christened in the 1st one, various kids had background roles or later, speaking parts or minor roles, as Sofia did as a child and teen - before playing Mary Corleone, her final acting role for well known reasons). His sons worked behind the scenes too, as assistants and unit directors and so on. Coppola treated the cast and crew like family, hosting dinners where he'd cook up big pots of spaghetti. That's his way.
Not to mention that his composer father Carmine Coppola composed the iconic score for the Godfather films.
Hugely talented family. His mother was an actress I believe.
I'm not as excited for the movie as I am for the actors who will be in it. The movie looks meh but hopefully they can make it great. 💅🏻
Star Wars, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Close Encounters, Superman, Schindler’s List, Home Alone, Harry Potter - all from the same guy is beyond legendary!

Erm, excuse me, but what about Peggy Sue Got Married, The Outsiders and Dracula? I love Dracula despite Keanu having been a terrible Jonathan Harker, but Gary Oldman was amazing
What about Jack?
I saw Godfather 3 --It's going to be terrible. I think as director's age they get crazier or something.
I mean.. that’s a hell of a cast sure.. but they’re definitely not bringing the budget to anywhere near that price tag. I wonder what else about it is costing so much. Can’t say I’m not excited
