Scene comparisons of "The Jacksons: An American Dream" (1992) with various performances of The Jackson 5. For our review of "The Jacksons: An American Dream" visit www.thebiopicstory.com/jackso...
One of the best biopics ever. This and the temptations were absolutely dynamic.
I totally agree! Two of my favorite movies.
Wonder how the new mj biopic will fare
Those 2 are the best biopics about Motown era.
The only 2 that matter
new edition biopic really good too
Rest in Wylie. Such a beautiful performance in The Jacksons movie.
Crazy how the actor died unexpectedly and really there's still suspicious ideas surrounding him just like with the death of Michael Jackson.
@@Thespeedraphe had leukemia
Rest In Peace Wylie & he sure did go out to the glory, just like Chadwick, who was the Black Panther. And we all will never know until we appreciate their performances. ❤❤❤❤
@@daijdior sorry to hear that.
It's crazy how he was already famous as a kid in the Jackson5, but then just shot into outer space as a young adult. Went from a star to a cultural icon that changed how society dances, sings, and entertains forever.
Then became a child molester … SMH
The one and only Juggernaut Phenomenon! He changed the game 4ver and no one will ever compare‼️❤️
Imagine the day we get to compare all three Billie Jean performances when the Biopic comes out with Jaafar.
Its gonna be an interesting debate of who did the Motown performance better as Michael.
I think Jafaar is gonna do it better
You really wanna include Flex in this comparison? 😂
@@vascanj No. Besides he never even danced to this song. I'm talking about the comparison of MJ's performance. Willie's performance. and likely what will come out of Jaafar's...
I hope that the glove is on the right hand this time just like the real Mike RIP.
The only mistake was the glove was on the wrong hand. But perfect moonwalk that guy did!
Didn’t even attempt the ankle breaker though that’s a mistake
@@texsionit a movie they even cut the song in half for copyright reasons
Who else is patiently waiting for the new movie to hurry🙋♂️
U gone be waiting a long time man 😂
2024 isn’t that long, to me🤷♂️
@@real-yeet8687 I think that’s when it begans filming
me
@@kooldawgno it was actually supposed to begin filming this month but because of the actors strike it hasn’t . They said a soon as it’s over they will start filming!
It’s gone be so hard to beat this in the new biopic. I got faith in Jafaar tho 😭
Wylie looked JUST like MJ during the robot section from Dancing Machine!! And of course Billie Jean! 🕊️✨❤️🔥🕺🏾
Bro did Billie Jean to a tee!!!
Naw man.. not the whole thing to a tee.. but he did hit some spots.. and the actor's spin after the moon walk.. just makes me clinch my teeth so bad .. with his ballerina spin 🤦🏿
Glove is on the wrong hand.
No he didn’t. He needed more practice.
What are you on about lets see you do better 😂 @chilld1324
@@ianmullally3483 I'm on real shit. And if you have eyes you would see .. 👀 if you have some type of social media.. I would actually show you some moves.. michael jackson moves too!! If you really wanna see me do better.. even going into the moonwalk. Mike didn't throw his whole arm out.. he just flicked the wrist.. man watch it again cuz u actin blind tho
Wille draper killed it!!!
Mike was Smooth in his moves, cause he was a Smooth Criminal but these actors did a great job. I loved that movie The Jacksons: An American Dream
Wylie Draper went super Saiyan in the final performance. Best biopic ever 💯👑
Wylie did a good job but you just can’t compare to Michael. No one can.
Wylie seem like he's more enthusiastic than Michael Jackson
Wylie pass away not long after he was in the Jackson 5 movie
It sickens me how people can worship another human being and no one can compare to them or mimick their style in a feaking movie without being critizied SMH You realize Michael Jackson and his family had a big part in casting and putting this movie together.
@erikorehek7843 The only one I Worship is the LORD GOD in heaven
@@erikorehek7843preach
This is so good. Not once did I look at anyone in this project and see anyone other than the Jacksons. Stellar
1:23 I still find it amazing right out of the gate Michael was able to hit that range of voice!
At such a young age too!!
The last scene in the movie was actually the Victory Tour…not the Motown 25 performance.
Well they had the Motown 25 performance outfits on and they did the ending song just like M25 so this was the closet they had to it. Victory tour was probably a little harder
@@kaidoking673right
On the Victory Tour, they never performed “The Love You Save” in the entire format (only in the “I Want You Back J5 Medley”) plus Jackie Jackson didn’t participate in the entire concert due to healing from an ankle injury. Also, The Jacksons (save Randy and Michael only Michael’s sequin shirt was very different) never wore those outfits on any of the Victory Tour concerts. As for The Jackson 5 performances, the choreography was all inaccurate (eg “I Want You Back” and “Dancing Machine”). Tito Jackson never had a Jheri curl either. The Jacksons American Dream really messed up and they knew better.
@@jeffrey5165 obviously. They only added Stop the love you save for the movie but this particular scene is in fact supposed to be the Victory Tour. It is NOT Motown 25. This is common knowledge, and even stated in the film. It was supposed to be the final performance and sign off of the Victory Tour.
Great detective work, you get a cookie.
Oh Wylie, ❤️🥰
He played MJ well
@@keepmoving2023-ku7nb and did ❤️
Did you notice that the glove in the Billie Jean scene is on total opposites LOL
@@SawyerSevilleno Hun he met mj on set American dream mj was in disguise 🥸 so nobody else wouldn't be crazy. But yes everything is was movie based
@@SawyerSeville no they didn't he met him and Jason Weaver on the set with a mask 🎭 on then mj met him as himself on remember the time video
It's because the whole family didn't have a hand in it. Michael only picked him. Thats why the michael biopic will be better
Me 2 jus seen dat
That drove me crazy as a kid. I was such a J5/MJ fan and I caught it immediately. As I got older I couldn’t believe no one corrected that during filming
We need a video like this for the Michael Biopic next year!
IF THEY FIND THE WRIGHT PEOPLE
It’s called Michael and his nephew Jafaar is playing him. There’s clips of it on UA-cam. Coming out 2025
I'M SO EXCITED!!!@@natalee217
Oh my God!!!👏👏👏just waiting for the Biopic. Thank you Jaafar for bring us Michael back.
MJ was the best of the whole American dreams the Jackson's movie
Jason Weaver slayed dat mtf🖤🫀🤧🤝💯
Rest in peace Wylie Draper!
Rip wylie draper
I remember this movie. Never got to see the full thing, but I remember the clips for Motown - Billie Jean and the Pepsi Commercial accident.
Super nostalgic to see it again here.
I'm glad they didn't show that Pepsi commercial that's when it went bad for him and he didn't recover after that and I Don blame him.
It's just weird to see other's emulate Michael & his brother's. They're doing a good job, of course nobody on earth can mirror them...especially Michael.
*Much love to them for all for the outstanding effort and hard work going onto this. Looking forward to seeing it next year❤
Now this is when biopic were biopic Damn 90th😢
Esa pelicula es imperdible...un sueño Americano ❤
Jackson's An American Dream couldn't quite capture the smoothness of Jacksons moves 😅
(And who could blame them)
He did good tho I always thought he was Mike 😂
Yes it did
They tried and for what it was. I think they did a great job.
He did the Michael jackson solos perfectly, but seeing The Jackson’s dance as group, I can agree it wasn’t very smooth.
I doubt anyone thought they could
Whew!! Amazing!! I think we all had the Motown 25 routines memorized!!
This was perfectly synched❤️
Thank you!!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for your support
And this lady and gentleman is why we are getting the Michael Jackson bio
This used to be my favorite movie
No one could dance smooth as Michael's did.
Yes but now people sayin jaafar can move exactly like michael and smooth as him so idk why
" No one could dance smooth as Michael's did. "
Yes. Wylie did dance as smooth as Michael did. Put your bias aside and actually watch him. He's incredible. He was hand picked by Michael Jackson himself for this TV movie. So it's not up for discussion.
You can find a little Micheal in every ghettos in America 😮
Why they chose not to use the classic IWYB original choreography in the movie is beyond me and the classic choreography for I wanna be where you are but hey CAN'T NOBODY DANCE LIKE THE REAL #J5 #dropdamic 🎤
Jason really did great job playing Michael as a kid fr fr 💯💯💯💯💯
I'm mad that they didn't do OTW ERA
I mean it would’ve been cutting it close to their current timeline. It stopped in 1984 and the movie was made like in 1992-1993 plus this was a Jackson exclusive movie not just mj
@@kaidoking673 Triumph Tour there's no excuse
This is just the Jackson 5 and Jackson's movie not just michael its like people forget
@@KingLarrY4k34 triumph tour NO EXCUSE
@@Kevin-od1mk eh I'd leave that to a new biopic
The last scene is from the fictional reenactment of the “Victory Tour”.
The guy playing little Mike (Jason Weaver) released an album shortly after his performance. It probably inspired him.
I love alot of music biographies: from The Temptations, The Jackson's, Ray Charles, and even the non fiction 5 heartbeats. Micheal will always be missed. Imitated never duplicated 🙏🏾🙌🏾
Jason did fantastic job as young Micheal very charismatic performance why didn't his career not sky rockey after this?
Both were really good 👍, but, M.J. was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 pp
No new film will ever beat the jacksons biopic for me, but i will give it a chance 😊
Michael was Michael.
He is inimitable.
I loved Wylie Draper's performance. He captured Michael's essence and personality well. I'm hoping Jafaar does as well
Jason Weaver and Wylie Draper absolutely nailed their roles! 🎉♥️
The accuracy is on point. Love it. ❤❤
The last 2 clips was perfect. 😍
i can’t wait for sweet jafar to play his uncle
Too bad neither of his own sons can play their dad. Oh wait, his sons are WHITE!!! SMH
Can't believe the glove is in the wromg hand. What a mistake!!!
😂😂😂
Jafaar is right handed and Michael is left handed
@@lolobuto1608this isn't jaafar this is I forgot the actors name but this is from the 1992 Jackson american dream movie
@@zohaibmehran7669Wylie draper and he passed after the movie was made
It was on purpose to show the glove to the audience at home. Instead of having it on microphone the whole time. Its just to emphasize the glove in that time period
My Boy!! Michael Jackson Doing The James Brown Moves 🎶🎶.
Well...this is the best surprise that I have ever seen. I gotta say the cast who did the Jacksons movie, maaan they did a great job. And most of all, rest in heavenly peace who was cast as an older Michael Jackson, Wylie Draper. He died a year later, succumbing to leukemia. He was 24.
Btw who cannot forget Terrence Howard, who did portrayed as Jackie Jackson! ❤❤❤
I used to watch this every day
I found myself looking at the left side of the screen more than the right side
I still can’t believe they messed up the Motown performance with putting the glove on the wrong hand
i was always mad they didnt give him the hat in the biopic during whos loving you
The end bit mj and his brothers was a concert tour not clip from motown 25 in America dream 😊
Putting aside that one was a tragedy, I feel like the Motown 25 Billie Jean performance was the Gen X version of "Where were you when Kennedy was shot." Everyone remembers where they were when they saw it for the first time.
Wylie Draper is from West Virginia
What people don’t realize is Jason Weaver really sang that song that boy can sang😮
Did anyone notice he wore the wrong side glove where in the tv show he wore the right glove but in real life he wore the left 😅
Copyright reasons
What difference does it make at least he had it.
On Motown 25 and The 1981 Triumph Tour, Michael always wore his glove on the left. On subsequent appearances (post Motown 25), he always wore his glove on the right. What were they thinking?!?
Não entendo o motivo de usar a luva ao contrário ao uso do Michael, mas este jovem atuou maravilhamente. É triste saber que depois , faleceu tão tão novo.
Best mJ biopic to date, lets see how his nephew does. But this will always be my favorite
Jason Weaver 🙌
Well done Jafaar👏👏👏❤️ can't wait to watch it all in 2025❤️ your uncle Michael is proud of you i am sure❤️❤️❤️
What do you mean "Well done Jafaar"? There isn't any footage of him here in this.
@@DaRunningManlmao
Is it serious that you looked at the quality of the video and thought it was from a film released in 2025? Lmao
lol delete this 😒
@@DaRunningManthat's what I'm saying people on UA-cam be tripping with comments.
All these Michael jackson Worshippers in the comments are so digusting and do not know anything about this movie and how much michael was on set and helped put it all together, of course it's not going to be spot on DAMN
This was awesome in 1990.
I believe this was for TV and that's why they didn't have the budget for really recreating 70's and 80's sets and wardrove
Please do I have the permission to say, The multiverse?
Michael is still alive somewhere in those other worlds... Maybe younger, maybe older, and in some he's still gone... God bless you all.
Yea i been saying this for years this is the best jacksons movie they ever made n plus jason weaver n wylie draper n the other boys in the movie play michael jackson too good n i hope jaafar jackson play him good too 🙏😎❤❤❤❤
Jason Weaver did that tho
Can’t wait for the new one
Damn, I love this! Now, I gotta go watch the super long movie again😂 but I hope the new biopic coming out next year is just as long😂😂😂😂❤
The last scene you should’ve compared to victory tour
Wow I love this!
I Want You Back & Dancin' Machine is so inaccurate lol.
Like Bruh why aren't they wearing Green and why don't they have afros ?
Who cares that the choreography was different? They made better choreography for the Dancin' Machine one. You have to be incredibly biased to not see that it was better choreography that they did for the TV movie.
@@DaRunningMan the choreography in the biopic for Dancing Machine was really better. Everyone was dancing not just Michael
@@daryltracy7949 Yup. By making everyone dance it makes it more visually interesting. Also, if you notice, they showed them doing this during a rehearsal. So for anyone who wants to be nitpicky it can just be explained that they did it only as a rehearsal.
@@DaRunningMan that timeline on the American Dream was 1976 (actually 1975 was when they really decided to part ways with Motown). “Dancing Machine” came out in 1973 and they first performed it in 1973 on Soul Train. Even for the sake of rehearsal (after performing the song for 2 years), the choreography was all the same so there was no excuse for 90% changing it for the movie.
Nothing can be as epic unless they do this new movie right
Where did the budget go on the wardrobe? Half of the outfits they used weren’t accurate or backwards💀
Stop The Love You Save was supposed to be the Victory Tour but I know why you used Motown 25 because they did the same steps
The Jackson
That was awesome!!!
Jason Weaver was good but MJ was the whole package.
Wym by that
That’s what she said
It was good I love that movie but his glove was on the wrong hand
Kinda disappointed because they didn’t at least follow the exact outfits
At least the first 2m 05s aren't synchronized AT ALL. And the "Dancing Machine" scene is totally randomly choreographed
❤ this movie
Is kinda funny the both past away in different years. If he was he would in the biopic but has the older Michael Jackson in 2015❤
@4:53 glove on wrong hand for wylie
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Man that glove on the wrong hand used to drive me nuts 😂
I can't believe dude who played the adult Michael Jackson died a few years after that movie. Smh
Man if only wylie didnt pass away
La parte de billie jean . No se dieron cuenta que mj se lleva el guante en la izquierda. El de la pelicula se puso el guante en la mano derecha
I like the idea but playing both scenes at the same time is wild
Maybe back in 83 someone should have told MJ he should wear the glove on his right hand because that's the hand the guy acting as him in there future movie will have it on.
The movie scenes and the group choreography is totally different from the actual J5 choreography 🎵🎶
The glove was on the wrong hand? Details please.

That’s the victory tour not the Motown show the love you save last scene
Amazing man good man
Wylie actually did dat spin on dat last performance better den Michael himself😳😬❕⚡️✨
Good comparison. Only missing Star Spangled Banner.
