Jason Weaver was the ONLY child actor in the world that could’ve pulled this part off. Did he look like Michael? No. Did he sound like Michael? Yes. Did he exude the sweetness and innocence we all loved bout the real one? Yes. He did a fantastic job and was one of the main reasons this TV movie was a success.

He mainly whooped them when they messed up during rehearsals. Not saying it’s right or anything, but he wasn’t abusing them to the extent most people want you to believe.

I've always thought Jason Weaver was an underrated actor/comedian/singer. He is truly gifted!!! My favorite scene in a movie featuring him was when he was in "Drumline" eating a burger trying not to let the other band members know he was pledging...it was hilarious!!! Also not to mention his comedic skills (and singing) on the 80's sitcom Thea which I loved!!!
